I went to Curry Up & Wok This Way (cute name!) while I was visiting Waco. It's in one of the corners of the Union Food Hall. There are a few tables and chairs that are clean though a bit uncomfortable. Service was great - everyone working was really friendly! They had a dessert banoffee pie in a cup that was fantastic. As for my meal, I ordered the green curry with tofu and veggies. It was incredibly sweet. This is my go-to order, and I've never had one this sweet. It wasn't pleasant. It was also unclear if it was vegetarian or not (with fish sauce or not). My boyfriend got a noodle dish and really enjoyed it! I would say it's hit or miss - with the other options in the food court, I may try something different if I return!

Ambiance is food court. Service was friendly and quick. Food is good. Portions could be larger for the price compared to other Thai places we have been but it's ok. I would eat here again

I was in between 3 and 4 stars. Service was very quick and friendly, and they did a good job of explaining the options. This is in the Union Hall food terminal, so it's not like a traditional restaurant with servers, but it's good for a quick meal or if different people in the group want other options. The food itself was a bit heavy on oil and a bit light in my opinion on meat and veggies, but it tasted good. I lived in Thailand for two years and have had variations of this dish many times. This one was tasty and fast, but I would have enjoyed more meat and veggies.

I've been to Union Hall before and I've tried a couple of spots (one of them no longer in rotation) and I've made it a point that this place would be next on the list for whenever I was coming through again. And then here I was! Their menu is limited - understandable, given they're in a food court sorta spot, they have a small kitchen. I went for the Thai style fried rice with beef topped with a fried egg. I popped my digital wallet to pay and whomp-whomp: their POS was down. I asked if using a card would help instead - we tried that three times and that didn't fly either. I offered to pay cash - cash no bueno here. In the meanwhile, a line was forming behind me. What a fine time for technology to fail. It took a few minutes, but they finally figured it out. The line behind me got a little bit longer, but I took that as "Wow, they have a following." I was told it'd be about 10-15 minutes before my food was ready so I went to another spot for a drink. Grub was good to go at the allotted time I was told - except the egg was missing. They realized that before I even got the chance to say anything, so yay. VERDICT: Made to order food is always a plus. The beef was soft with great seasoning and it was commensurate to the amount of rice. There weren't a lot of fillers so nothing was taken away from focusing on the beef and the rice. FOOD: 4. Delicious and plenty to share with another. SERVICE: 3.5. VALUE: 4. Worth it and then some! PARKING: located inside Union Hall. They have a small private lot. Street parking also available. OVERALL: 3.75. Curious about their curry and noodle dishes, so it's safe to say they are on my radar for the next time I come back around!

I came by and picked up a quick lunch here and I was extremely impressed with my meal. I got the Pad Kee Mao with a hot spice and it was perfect. I really like the way the veggies in the dish are prepared - bite size. When it comes to Thai places I judge them on their Pad Kee Mao which is my favorite Thai noodle dish and this place gets a gold star for it. My only note that I will leave is you do have to pay extra for any spice level over the basic mild but all that did was make a $12.50 dish into a $13.00 dish which is extremely reasonable for the food quantity and quality delivered. If you don't like the idea of paying extra for heat, think if it as a discount for those who like spice less food.

I don't normally leave negative reviews but my Uber Eats order left me feeling pretty ripped off. The portion size of the Pad Kee Mow was about half of what I would normally expect from a Thai restaurant (and also compared to the photos of it available here). I finished all of it in sub-5 minutes. It was also cold, not even lukewarm. The noodles were so stuck together and dry, probably because they had been sitting for long enough for most of the sauce to be soaked up. I'm resorting to making some spam fried rice to complete the rest of my dinner not sure if this is the usual experience from this place.

    Panang curry and rice

First time to eat here. Ordered Panang curry, fried rice and Pad See Ew. Panang ordered at Thai spice level by a True Thai Girl. She said it was good but it's funny bc it's not run by Thai people. My rice was just fine. My husband said it was decent. A good meal. Interesting tho. My husband's dish was way spicier than mine and we got the same spice level. The Thai spice level was not that much hotter than my husband's. It came with no accompaniments like soy or any kind of sauce and NO napkins. They had to go get some from somewhere and the hubs got tired of waiting for the employee to come back. It also took way longer than what they told me originally. I asked because I wanted to go get some tea. I also wanted to add that the amount of rice they gave to go with the panang was pathetic. Here is a pic of the amount of curry left over and no rice.

Some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time. Authentic tasting. Sweet people working. Amazing flavors. We wished we lived closer, we would eat there all the time. Give them a try!

Both were very good! Got the tonkatsu black ramen from Domo 1 it was heavy garlic but I personally liked that. Egg was a little harder than some other ramen eggs, but overall a good amount of food for the price. At CurryUp got the pad Thai with chicken - very good flavor. Not a huge serving size but plenty enough for 1 person. Overall the food hall is great - lots of options, students eating dinner so you can see what the like. Minor downside is parking - the lot was full when we came on a not-too-busy Sunday night, but we got street parking easily. Overall a great stop in Waco!

(3.5 stars) Coming from a city where "food hall" is…read moresynonymous with "overpriced," I found Union Grove a breath of fresh air. That isn't to say that the offerings here were dirt cheap but rather that I didn't feel like the food hall setting was a license to jack up prices. Union Grove boasts a respectable variety of vendors for its size, and the offerings range from Cajun to Asian to pizza and wings and more. I opted for the ironically named Health Camp, the Woodway outpost of a longstanding Waco burger-and-shake joint. While the shake selections looked tempting, I limited myself to a Health Burger (cheeseburger), tots, and a drink. At the risk of drawing pitchforks, the burger was a bit underwhelming. It was a fast food style single patty, very thin, and though tasty enough when dressed (lettuce, tomato, mustard, ketchup), not really worth $7. I realize that for locals, nostalgia is a powerful lure (Greensboro's Beef-Burger had similar adherents), but if you didn't grow up with Health Camp's burgers, I'd have to believe that you could do better. To their credit, the tots were perfectly crisp and priced right. One final note: Union Grove has plenty of seating, but it can also get rather loud. There's an adjoining arcade, so expect kids running around. If the acoustics don't bother you, however, then the warehouse atmosphere can be fun.
