I feel I would be doing the public a disservice if I left another 4+ rating for this school, so…read morehere is my honest feedback about LEP. To preface, my oldest child attended from March 2020-August 2023 and my younger child from August 2023-August 2024. A lot changed over these four years, and all of the concerns below were raised directly with Lily (the director). Pros: * Friendly, caring teachers * Native Mandarin-speaking teachers who led daily Chinese circle time (~30 minutes of songs) * My children learned new songs and motor skills during their time there Cons: * Poor communication: Aside from a once-a-month newsletter, parents received little direct communication. Most updates came from the parent group chat. I suggested hiring an admin, but this was not addressed. * Leadership issues: Lily struggles with management and operations. At times, she appeared overwhelmed and allowed parents to take the lead. I also personally witnessed her berating a teacher over a minor mistake. * High teacher turnover: Most teachers leave within 1-2 years. While common in early education, the constant turnover was disruptive. * Lack of transparency: Parents are given little to no information about teachers' educational backgrounds. When we first joined, a teacher with expertise in child behavior was invaluable, but she left. * Potty training mishandling: When my younger daughter was potty training, the staff often let her soil her pants rather than guiding her to the toilet. Lily frequently insisted that we put her back into diapers and claimed she was not developmentally ready, yet that same day she successfully pooped in the toilet at home. After we informed Lily of our plan to unenroll, it felt like staff stopped supporting her potty training progress and, more concerningly, that Lily stopped caring about our child's development because we were no longer going to be financially supporting her business. * Cleanliness and hygiene: Soap dispensers were frequently empty or diluted (I documented this with photos/videos). When I brought this up to Lily, she claims that it is foaming soap. I use foaming soap at home and know that is not it. While this improved in our final weeks, the issue persisted for a long time. My younger daughter was sick every couple of weeks and contracted HFMD twice within months. I believe this was due to poor hygiene practices, though Lily denied the school's role. After she transitioned to her new school, she stopped getting sick every two weeks and thrived in her potty training journey, which confirmed for us that the issues were specific to LEP. Some time has passed since my children attended, so I truly hope conditions have improved for the sake of the teachers, children, and families.

One thing I really appreciate is their Montessori teaching approach. Instead of just traditional instruction, the children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace. I love seeing my daughter become more curious and independent through hands-on learning and exploration. The bilingual environment is also wonderful, and the teachers communicate well with parents. My daughter enjoys going to school every day, and we're grateful to have found such a positive learning environment.

My son started at My Mother's Hug (MMH) when he was just 20 months old. Today, at 5 years old, he…read moreis graduating from MMH and starting Kindergarten tomorrow. It is hard to put into words how emotional and grateful I feel as we reach this milestone. **MMH truly lives up to its name.** It provided my son with a mother's touch, warmth, hugs, love, and care when he was away from home. One of the main reasons I chose MMH was because of the reviews from other mothers who spoke so highly of the caring and nurturing environment. After almost four years, I can confidently say that those reviews were absolutely right. What makes MMH stand out is its vision and the core purpose behind everything they do -- **the child is always at the center.** My son has grown into an independent, confident, clear-thinking child. I often receive compliments from others saying, "He knows what he wants," and I truly believe a big part of that comes from the MMH curriculum and the everyday activities that focus on the overall development of the child, not just academics. One of the things I admire most about MMH is how they nurture **empathy and compassion** in children. It is something you can genuinely see in the kids at MMH, and I believe it is one of the most valuable qualities a child can develop. I cannot thank **Ms. Monica (Principal), Ms. Fariha (Director, On Mission Campus), Ms. Hetal (my son's current class teacher), Ms. Anisha (Dance Teacher),Sports teacher** and every single teacher who has been a part of my son's journey at MMH enough. Each of you has contributed something special to his growth, and we will always be grateful. And then there is a very special person at MMH -- **Asha Ji**. She is such a loving and warm personality. The kids absolutely adore her. My son calls her the "cooking teacher," but to us, she is so much more than that. The way she greets every child as they enter school, the genuine care she shows, and the special bond she builds with both children and parents make her such an important part of the MMH family. I highly recommend MMH to any parent who feels scared or anxious about sending their little one away from home for the first time. I can personally vouch that the MMH team understands and truly resonates with those feelings. They make sure that your fears gradually disappear because you know your child is being loved, cared for, and nurtured. The children spend meaningful and quality time with their peers. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed and supports every aspect of a child's development. They provide nutritious food, which is so important during these formative years. Most importantly, they take milestones seriously -- whether it is moving away from diapers, learning to eat independently, becoming more social and communicative, or developing confidence and independence. Their recent **Public Speaking program** has also been a huge hit and is another wonderful example of how MMH encourages children to express themselves and build confidence from an early age. There is honestly so much more I could say about this wonderful organization. After almost four years, it feels less like we are saying goodbye to a school and more like we are saying goodbye to an extended family member who has been an important part of our child's life. Thank you, MMH, for giving my son such a beautiful foundation for his next chapter. As he walks into Kindergarten tomorrow, we know he is ready -- and we know that MMH has played a huge role in getting him there. We wish the entire MMH family the very best and hope that every child and every parent who walks through your doors experiences the same love, care, growth, and happiness that we have experienced. **Thank you for being our "Mother's Hug" when we couldn't be there ourselves. **

My 7 year old finished 2nd grade level Chinese already. 2. The daycare is impeccably clean and neat 3. Loving teachers 4. Kids are taught about how to treat each other nicely. When we were looking for schools a year ago, we did check a few others schools, including both church schools and non-church schools with a strong focus on academics. In my opinion, OSLP outperforms all those and is probably the best in this area. 1) OSLP is a relatively small school with great teacher-to-student ratio. In the class my daughter was enrolled in, there were 2 teachers and 12-15 students. Every student gets lots of attention from the teachers. My daughter knows everyone in school and every teacher knows her. Teachers, the principle, and all staff are fantastic. Most of them are very experienced and have been here for years. Every time I stopped by, either during drop-off/pick-up hours or unexpected visits, I found my daughter being so happy and teachers being so engaged with kids. I have NEVER seen any teacher play with her smart phone when with kids. 2) OSLP teaches students core values that provides a strong foundation for their future. Morning class is more curriculum-centric, with letter, calendar, math learning. Afternoon class is more play-centric and kids spent a lot time in the play ground (which is huge!). They have tons of fun class projects. Everyday we brought back a few things Elaine made at school and she loved showing them to us. They also had "secret" projects which were saved for special dates such as Mom/Dad's day and end-of-school-year exhibition. In addition to the academic development and the curiosity in learning, they also taught kids how to interact with others, how to express emotions, how to speak up, how to share with others, and etc., all of which are key social skills.

Susan is well organized, professional, and thorough and her attention to details were all on point. She covered everything I needed to know and more. I love that Susan is transparent, our dialogues are never short of pleasant, and she always shows empathy. My daughter started daycare at 20 months in June 2018. They are so wonderful and have met all of my high expectations of what a perfect daycare is to me.
