Our daughter has been attending this Montessori since she was 2.5 years old, and we've been very happy with her experience so far (over a year now). Miss Thiru, her teacher in the Lilac class, has been absolutely incredible -- a perfect blend of warmth and discipline. She is both loving and firm, which is exactly what young children need to grow, learn, and thrive. We feel truly lucky our daughter had her as a teacher this past year. The daily schedule is thoughtfully balanced with Montessori activities, worksheets, and play. The worksheets have been especially helpful in building her number and letter recognition, as well as her logical thinking skills -- all while keeping her excited and engaged. The outdoor playground is spacious, and the kids love their time there. The only suggestion I'd make is to add some shaded areas, as the summer heat can get intense during the 2-hour outdoor window. Our daughter often comes home visibly tired from the sun. Overall, we really love the school and the nurturing environment it provides. Our child started at Little Flowers Montessori from when he was 3.5yrs old and he stayed there all the way till he graduated and our experience has been nothing short of exceptional. Ms.Yolanda and all the teachers at LFM had ensured that he had a smooth transition into the new environment, helping him grow his social and learning skills in the most caring & nurturing manner - getting him geared up for Kinder in every way possible. One thing that truly stands out is that all the teachers are extremely loving & it shows when the kids want to be around them even when they are playing in the yard. The facilities in the school inside the classrooms, library, gym & outside in the yard are always maintained extremely well - giving kids the best of the infrastructure at all times. What stands out is the indoor gym at LFM where kids get to play if the weather outside is not suitable for their outdoor play - and they enjoy the gym as much as they do the yard! My daughter joined Little Flower - Birch when she was 2.5 years old and she left at 5.5 years old. In 3 years I see tremendous transformation in her. She learned writing, reading, maths, giving amazing presentations in front of people, talking to the grown ups, eating healthy and many more stuff. I see her learning a lot more things then some of friends and neighbors kids who were going private schools. My son has been with Little Flowers for over a year. He had the choice to go to transitional kindergarten but since he thrives in Little Flowers - Birch, we decided to leave him there for one more year. We had to transfer him out his previous preschool because his high energy and high opinion were not received well in the conformer style environment. As a result, he was not quite happy. I'd like to share my experience in Little Flowers with other parents who are doing research for preschools for the beloved little ones. Praises: - Facility: Facility is the first thing that made my impression. Little Flowers - Birch branch is relatively new. Two class rooms are spacious, full of natural light and very tidy. Kitchen on site cooks kids' lunch every day. There is a library where teachers read to kids and sometimes kids read to kids. There is an also an indoor gym where kids can play during rainy days or too sunny days. This is only preschool with the indoor gym in my research in Fremont area. The playground is big and structure is new. Since I have an active boy and care about free play time, this facility works out for us very well. - Montessori materials: My boy loves Montessori materials which are designed to facilitate learning and logic thinking during play. Kids can select their own play set and they are required to place the material back in the right order. How I love the later part! - Program: Beside theme for each week and/or each month, the school has music class and dance class every week. It has its annual petting zoo, bird show, fireman visit, policeman visit, science fair, multicultural fair, Halloween party, Christmas performance... Kids are kept pretty busy. Kids in Aster class even had their first ever presentation last year. Parents helped to make the display boards of course (and there were no shortage of talented parents). Most parents attended the presentation even it was optional. It was just fun to watch little kids talk and observe how their mind works. The small imperfect made them even more adorable. - Staff: I left this the last because it takes time to know them. Over past year, I appreciate the hard work of Ms Alma, the director, who brings variety, fun and discipline to the school. My son loves her and fears her. With her talent of decoration, the school is dressed up by season and kids enjoy it very much. I feel sorry for the hurtful words in the negative reviews to Ms Alam who takes pride in her work. The truth is that the angry ones are more like to vent and the satisfied ones just get on with their busy life. I also appreciate Ms Hema's sense of humor and Ms Maria's quiet elegance. Fundamentally, the love and care that these teachers provide give me pleasure and peace. Future Improvement: - Too many worksheets! I have communicated to Ms Alam that preschoolers are too young for worksheets and homework. I would rather let them do more art, craft or even foreign language like Spanish or Chinese. Apparently, some other parents are more academic driven :-( - Cold classrooms: Agree with another mom, I have to dress up my son in layer all year around and insist on him not to take off his jacket too soon. He of course, largely forgets my words. I do hope that he can have chance to wear shorts in summer - Boys love their shorts. - Food: The menu is not bad but not exciting either. Kids like their home food. Ideally, the school menu should reflect school demographics. Chinese and India kids make up 60%~ of population in school, but the food is 45% American, 45% Mexican, 10% Chinese, 0% Indian. There is certainly some disconnection but this school is not alone. I have two daughters currently attending the Little Flowers Birch Street campus. The older of two started out in the Little Flowers Ardenwood campus. We moved her to the birch Street campus when it first opened almost 2 years ago, primarily because it was closer to our house. Her sister joined her six months ago when she turned two. We have had nothing but positive experiences at Little Flowers. The girls love their school ! They look forward to going in the morning, and they want to stay at the end of the day. The staff is wonderful, professional and share a passion for children. My girls have made so many good friends, and seem to be doing very well socially. The schoolwork is not too intense, and made to be enjoyable. They enjoy doing their worksheets each day, and are very advanced academically. They have a strong art curriculum too, and my girls are both budding artists. We loved the Little Flowers Ardenwood location too, but it was a bit bigger, with over 200 students. The Birch Street location has around 50 students in two classes. I think this is a very good size. The building is new, and beautiful with a very nice playground. The director, Alma Gabriel runs a tight ship, and obviously loves what she does, and loves children. Our family holds her in the highest esteem, and we are grateful that she is in our lives. I am updating my review based on my experience with the staff, teachers and overall program for 1 year.Unfortunately I had to take my kid out as we moved to another city other wise I would have never left this place. Staff- We loved Ms. Cindy and Ms. Linda (both have left) for the 2-3 yr old class while my kid was there. They were energetic, caring and knew each child very well. We would always be updated with how the day went for my kid. With the current teachers for the same classroom our experience has been neutral. We never received one on one feedback from them as to how my child is doing and they never seemed to be involved in the activities. It was more like they are doing but not really enjoying it.I am glad my child didn't stay in their care for long. Teachers in the older kids classroom( where my child was until recently) are just awesome. We particularly interacted with Ms. Hema and Ms. Mariam and always received detailed daily reports with warmth and smile. Ms. Hema knows each of her kids' in and out and makes sure the quirks are attended to. That is such a comfort when you leave your kids for the major part of the day. Ms. Alma is the leader of all activities and events (and there are plenty to keep the kids busy, excited and involved). From chinese new year to christmas and everything inbetween she hosts the best events I have seen at a daycare. Kids are equally involved and helps develop their creative sides. Food- Breakfast and lunch are provided with rotating menus. Each meal includes a good balance of carbs, protein, fruits and veggies. menus are posted on the wall for reference. Facility- Spacious, well lit and well ventilated classrooms.Backyard is big and secure and the ground is made of artificial grass which I prefer vs. sand or wood chips. Large parking area for pickup and dropoff. Overall I really love this little flowers and its wonderful staff. She goes 2 days a week. She is so happy and loves all the staff! Mrs. Fuey, her teacher, is the epitome of what a teacher strives to be- kind, knowledgeable and patient. My daughter adores her! My daughter went to this school for 3 years, starting at 2, and just now graduating at age 5, ready for Kindergarten. We had such a great experience at this school. The teachers, from the Lilac and Aster classrooms, genuinely love children and you can see that in their day to day interactions with the kids. The themed months are a great way to introduce the children to new subjects like space and flowers. The building is always clean and decorated brightly and invitingly for holidays and seasons. The outdoor play area is super fun and the indoor play gym and library are great when the weather is rainy. My son goes to this school since the past year and a half. When we were looking at that time, what sold us was their brand new facility. They have very clean classrooms with lots of toys/activities/books for children. They also have a very good playground, an indoor gym and a library. Their facility is absolutely great and the best that I have seen in preschools in the area. The school provides healthy breakfast, lunch and multiple snacks during the day made in their on-campus kitchen. It's a small school with 2 classrooms (2-3 yrs and 3-5 yrs) but very professionally run. The teachers are great with the kids and have a good structure of activities through out the day. My son was lucky to have the same teacher Ms. Riya in both his classrooms. She takes very good care of the kids and pushes them academically as well. The kids get to do 3-4 worksheets every day covering alphabets, simple phonics, numbers, simple science/geography concepts etc. They also get to do lots of craft work that Ms. Riya is great with! They have periodic assessment where the teacher gives detailed feedback about the overall development of the kid. Ms. Alma, the school director is absolutely great. She is very dedicated and you can see her right from 7:30 in the morning to late evening. She is very involved in all the activities in the school. She is also very friendly with the parents! My son was in this school for three weeks. Every time when I brought my son go to school or pick him up, the classroom is always be quiet. There was one day morning, I brought my son into the classroom, then I stayed here for watching a while. My son was going to grab the toy from the other boy, and the boy screamed. The teacher did not know I was still there, and she suddenly showed up in front of the boy and showed a gesture (put her index finger on her mouth) to tell the boy did not talking or made any noise. Then I left. One more thing was my son is only 3 years old. This was the first time he attended preschool. During the 3 weeks in this little flower, he was only one time to forgot pee. That day when I went to pick up my son, 2 teacher talked to me said that my son did not understand English that I have to teach him some English at home. But my son knows a lot of English words. And the president Mrs.Alma talked to me for 10 minutes that my son forgot to pee because he did not know English. He is only 3 three years old , how you guys expect that he can control himself as an adult. The teachers totally don't know how to teach the children. As a preschool teacher, if you don't have patience, why you choose this job. If you open this school just for make money, the business will not go far. I asked my son, did you like this preschool. Outstanding preschool! Both my daughters have graduated from Little Flowers and have excelled both academically (top 5%) and socially at there current elementary school. My rambunctious son is currently attending and they have done an excellent job of helping him excel, he is three and can read, and teaching him boundaries. We have a new arrival coming in July and she will attend also. We are very happy that we have found Little Flowers. The staff is amazing. Ms. Maggie and team go out of there way to connect with each child and help them strive. The school is spotless and very well organized. My daughter has been attending Little Flowers for over 6 months now and it is a phenomenal program! The facilities are new, very clean, and the children well-fed. Ms. Alma, the school director, is extremely professional and dedicated to the children, she recognizes each of the children by name and there always wonderful activities planned such as pumpkin patch, Halloween parade, and the Holiday party. My daughter loves coming to school everyday and is always excited to tell us about her day. My son has attended this facility for over a year and always comes home with a big smile on his face... When I ask him about his day at schools he always tell me how great it was. Worksheets used to be challenging but now he breezes through them... Good practice for Kingergarten I guess. The indoor climbing wall is awesome as is the large outdoor play area with artificial grass (no mud). Teachers have warm personalities and easy to talk to. My only complain is that the nap time seems way to long for the older kids, As for the previous three 1 star reviews in a row, two were from parents whose children never even attended the school... mmm... how much stock to put in these - very little IMHO. Originally our son attended Little Flowers Montessori inside the Ardenwood shopping center for half time. We then transferred him to the full time main campus after approximately 2 months. This was where we met Ms. Alma whom was our son first full time teacher. Ms. Alma was different as we noticed quickly; she was more than just a teacher to the kids. They all adore her even thought she is tough and runs a tight ship! After our son been there for about three months we noticed the improvement on his academic in reading, writing, and math skills. But the surprising tale was he likes going to school. This was one of the school I toured initially for my then 2 year old . It's difficult not to get attracted by the absolute new facility. But as I left the premises I didn't find it attractive anymore and the prime reason were three things. The director was way too happy to show of the printed worksheets that they used in the classroom.But I was there to talk about my just turned 2 year old, writing and memorising alphabets is definitely not what I am expecting my little 2 year old to learn at that age and I would definitely expect the director to at least address things more fun and age associated learning instead.The second strike was there was drop dead silence in the room filled with little kids. I didn't spot even one smiling or happy face among the kids and nor a friendly smile or acknowledgement from the teachers in the room.What a robotic environment it had. And the last strike was the playground,the place where kids learn and spend so much time at that age.It was barren with absolutely no shade.This is not a place which could foster a happy environment and so def not a place for my little one read more

This school only cares about money and doesn't care about how the kid progress in their school. My little one attend their school for the first day and they approached me and asked me to leave immediately after drop off. Second time around, I wanted to make sure my kid settled in before I said good bye, Ms. Alma called to the class room and asked one of the teachers why I wasn't leaving yet (and that was about 5 or 10 minutes since I was there). I left while my kid was crying and ever since my kid freaked out about going there. That said, I expressed my concern and was told that they didn't want parents around the kids because other kids will get jealous that their parents are not there. That's a lame excuse to me. School should be open door for parents to see/be there for their kids at any time and especially much needed during transitions. Things like this makes me feel what they have to hide for not having parents there? Secondly, the school is nice and neat, but their hallway displayed some artworks of the kids that are very uniform, meaning that kids will not have a chance to create artwork by their imagination. Their worksheet is like a workbook that I can get for my kid from Costco or Lakeshores, nothing special. The class room and book shelf are all in order and too neat that it makes me think wether kids have the opportunity to play with it or just for display. As you know, if toddlers and preschoolers clean up after themselves, things go to where they belong due to instruction, and sometimes not, but not all that neat. The outdoor play has no shade, most kids run around without hats, let alone, sunscreen. The class room, as they claim, 12 to 1 ratio, but they combine the classes so there could be over 26 students per 2 teachers so the kids are overwhelmed with the large number of students regardless. New students are expected to mingle in and no individualized instructions or guidance from the teacher. That makes senses because they have too many students to look over, who have time for that right? That said, parents who sign up their kids must really give seriously considering if this is a best fit for your kids before signing up, if not, Ms. Alma will make no exception when you withdraw, you will have to pay 4 weeks out from the time you give notice and loose your deposit plus some more and registration fee. They won't even allow for you to transfer the deposit/registration fee for another time if you think you want your kid to start at a later time. That is really poor business transaction, in my opinion, parents who see the inconvenience like this will not return to their school in the future. One of my friends took their kids on 1 week vacation and asked to pay for the deposit later after they return, they agreed, but didn't hold the spot and gave it to another student during that time. I'm going to join the chorus of happy parents who have entrusted their child with Ms. Alma (the director) and her staff. From the day we signed up, the preschool was so different than all the others we visited. We toured, a few Montessori schools, play based schools, challenger, and stratford and found this school to have the best combination of teaching and caring. We came from another Montessori preschool in Union City that we really had issues with but our experience at Little Flowers has been so different. It seems to me that everything they do is for the betterment of the kids and to make sure that the kids are comfortable. Even before my son's first day of school, Ms. Alma encouraged us to bring him in and try out the class for a few hours, while we observed from outside. If he had any issues adjusting, I was right outside the room. We did this three times for a few hours each time. It was great to be able to actually see him get used to a new environment. He didn't have any issues and, in fact, loved it there. On the first observational visit, Ms. Alma made sure to greet him and welcome him to the school. Then we brought him in and she introduced him to the teachers and the teachers introduced him to all of his classmates. They even ask who wants to be his friend and all the kids raised their hands. From there, he joined them in circle time. Since I was there in the hallway for a few hours, I was able to observe the interactions that Ms. Alma and the other teacher had with parents and children as they were dropped off. It was so natural and warm and friendly. I felt like it was one big family. Because it's such a small school and Ms Alma is so good, she knows every parent, and every child. She knows the vacations they take and the problems they may be having in school. It's very reassuring to know that the director knows my child so well. At his old school, the director didn't even know his name. To the reviewer that wrote that all they care about is money... I can't disagree more. From your review it seems that a full time preschool may not be a good fit for you. You need to leave the class and let the teachers try to take care of your child otherwise your child will not be able to adjust when you do have to go back to work. I can't believe that you were not given days and days of observation time so that your child could get used to their class and you could see that there is nothing that they are hiding. From talking to other parents, everyone is encouraged to stay and watch the class from the outside. I stayed and watched for three days for God's sake and my son wasn't even enrolled yet. I understand it's hard to let go, but unless you attend something like the Fremont Coop Nursery school or you hire a stay at home nanny, you'll need to leave your child in the hands of the teachers eventually. If you do choose to go the full time preschool route, I think you'll find that this school is A LOT more communicative, open and caring than many schools out there. I hope you're able to find something that fits your needs. Bottomline is, this is a smaller Montessori school that is run extremely well. They have the right balance of school and play. They have a little indoor gym, a dedicated room for a library, and a large outdoor play area with a rubber play surface. Everything is neat and clean and the kids seem so happy. And when you join, it's like being part of a big family. I can't express how happy I am to have moved my son to this school. We were lucky enough that my wife was able to stay home and raise him until he was three so it was with a mix of fear and guilt that we brought him to preschool. He used to tell me that he missed us so much when he was at school. It was so painful for both him and us when we had to drop him off at his old school. My son had started here when he was 2 1/2 because we felt that he needed to improve his social skills. He was very quiet and did not like to interact with both children and adults, so we knew we needed to address the problem immediately. We met with the director Ms. Alma, and we toured the facility and signed up right away! It had a good facility and multiple rooms like a gym, library and an indoor and outdoor play area. The staff is amazing. When he had first started I think for about a week straight he did not interact, did not sleep, ate very little and I was becoming concerned that he would not adjust. I called EVERYDAY to make sure he was doing ok and each time I spoke to Ms. Alma and the teachers and they had always reassured me that he was fine. They explained that it's hard for some kids and for some it was easier. It took him a long time but Ms. Rowena was great. She was always patient and tended to him if he was feeling anxious, as a parent this was incredibly reassuring! Now he interacts with kids and adults and he comes home everyday with new words or phrases he learns. Academically he is doing great, they incorporate a good amount of arts and crafts as well as math, reading and language. Our daughter has been with Little Flowers Montessori (Birch) for about 6 months now and we are very pleased with her experience there. She's learned a lot in a very short time. She is now more disciplined and polite, has more patience and knowledge about many things like science, art, geography and math. The school is clean and classrooms are well-organized. They also have a library, which is perfect for our daughter who loves to read. They even have an indoor gym so kids can still have physical activities when they can't play outside. The school also serves fresh and healthy meals (breakfast, lunch and snacks). All the teachers and staff are very compassionate, thoughtful and they care about the children very much. There are days when our daughter would cry when I drop her off. Her teachers would lovingly and patiently talk to her and effectively divert her attention somewhere else. I am writing this review for new Birch st, Newark location, since my two boys love this school so much!! Thanks Mrs Alma and all the teachers! My older son just graduated from this school attending the other kindergarten class and recently he kept asking me when I can take him back to little flower birch for visiting, he said he really miss all the teachers there. My younger son has been going to this school for more than one year, at the beginning I worried about the transition, but gradually I did see a lot of improvement, every time I was there his teachers were so patient and nice to him. Parents who are living around Fremont /Newark want to choose preschool for your little ones, I think this review will be useful . It is a new sweet campus, absolutely clean, big and tidy classrooms, good teacher to student ratio and most of all extremely good, loving and patient teachers. My boys both learnt a lot from here. What I like most are they have a very good library with both academic book and fun books and an spacious clean in-door Gym (during bad weather outside kids can stil exercise and play inside). Also, Mrs Alma is a so artistic and planning talent director， every year both parents and kids had a lot of activities here , thanks Mrs Alma, we did have much fun! Sometime even in the weekends, he said I wish I could go to school in the weekend also. I am writing this review for new Birch st, Newark location. Thought this review will be useful for parents who are considering this preschool but do not have reviews. My child has been going to this school for about 3 months now. My child and I faced quite a bit transition trauma but I gradually saw a lot of improvement (which apparently is a very normal reaction during school transition) due to the patience of the teachers. It is a new campus, absolutely clean, big and tidy classrooms, good teacher to student ratio and most of all extremely good, loving and patient teachers. My child has learnt a lot in the last 3 months.They have a very good library with both academic book and fun books unlike many other "top Fremont schools" that have only academically focused history, physics, geography and science books! This location also has a clean kids gym area to provide a lot of physical activity for the child during too hot/too cold days unlike other schools that rely solely on toys and books to engage the child indoors. When we went to the school tour,it took us only 5 min to decide that this is the best school for my child. And we would never regret it. Every parent in central Fremont/Newark hunting for preschools should visit this school once at least. This school truly deserves 5 stars! read more
