I always try to support Pennsylvania owned companies and ensure the money stays in the state but it's so hard to do business with this company because they're constantly making decisions that affect them and not their customer. The customer is not the focus at the store. Trying to find good looking fresh produce is nearly impossible. However finding products that are on the shelf and out of date is easy. I've been in here multiple times where there have been several employees standing around behind the registers but only self checkout registers open. Until Weis Markets starts to care more about the people who shop there and the shopping experience and less about their bottom line I will continue to give my business to Stauffers and giant. Every single time I enter this store, it is disorganized, unclean and I wait forever to get checked out. it is ridiculous!

If you've ever been to Wegmans, don't think of this Weis as anything even remotely similar. This is the place where dreams go to die.

They are lucky to even get 2 stars...This market in Columbia is sad. It needs to be updated, update mind set of the range of people you service, properly managed, need of pride, and fresh products . This must be one of the oldest Weis in the area and it shows. Just because the area is semi-depresed doesn't mean you have to treat the people like they are.. Went into day for produce. Big mistake. Limit and just bad food. There was veggies with bad spots, dried out, and just needed to be tossed... With limited time I picked the best and purchased some whole prepackaged Baby Bella mushrooms and other veggies for a dish I was making for dinner. I get home prepped the the veggies then got too the mushrooms. Open package, one on top looked ok until I turn them over and see the white mold on stem and all over the other mushrooms. What a disappointment... I get my dish together without shrooms... Now I have to run back return. They did take back and offered an exchange but I opted refund money. I mentioned to the young helpful lady that they might want to check the other veggies especilly the sliced ones since they looked very dried out. Response was from her was I tell the girl after her break and I'm sorry about the problem. I go on my way. I don't mind paying the higher price for good products but what I don't like is paying the higher price for rotten food. It might but just me but the people that run the store/departments should be appologizing not the poor customer service person. I was better off taking the extra time and went to Mussers Market on Prospect & 462 or to the produces place down town owned by the small business owner. Much better produce and selections. Oh Weis Markets... Mussers puts money into their stores and is employee owned. That must be it... THEY CARE ABOUT WHAT THEY PUT OUT AND SELL...There not a big corp and only care about $$$... If in need of groceries go some other place or go frozen you might be better off... Check before you buy and leave the store... Lesson learned and hoping someday a Wegman's will come to area sometime soon... read more

Today I shopped there with my wife, she prefers Mussers in Columbia. I was shocked at the number of items that rang higher at the register than what was advertised at the shelf! I thought they were cheaper but you get charged more overall! She went to Customer Service and got a credit but did not complain about the other items. read more

So last time I went to the market next to my house to buy stuff for nachos and the little girl asked if I was pregnant, dirty looks and I laughed and let it slide. This time now I'm staring at all 12 teenage girls looking at who will ring me out and the one says I can take you over here and all she has to say is "sorry we're all assholes" nice going Weis markets. Not only do I feel not welcome but wanting to put these teens in their places. I want my money to tell you're pathetic employees what they should and shouldn't do as simple as a cashier the most basic fucking job ever and to the foreign employees that shove me away if I ask where something is. As a 25 year old woman with my own business this is an absolute failure and you will roll around in your rotting money because your future will be a failure if this mess continues. You're helping these children continue to be the scum they came from. And you won't even help them to progress into the business aspect. I have been to several Weis Markets and this one does not do them justice. The staff at this store are not helpful nor friendly. Except for one female staff by the name of CHRIS she was the only person that actually helped me when I needed the help. She seemed to be a Jane of all trades. She not only asked if I needed help but took the time to search for the items with me. She helped me four different times through out the store and when I got to the register to check out, guess who was there CHRIS. I ask her if she was the only person working. This store needs more people like her, perhaps she needs to be the staff trainer. If I was the undercover boss, that store would have a new manager and I wouldn't need to tell you her name.
