This was a stop only because they have an Amazon pickup locker in the store and it was along the way. But while we're here, we picked up some fresh grapes for snacks to have later and now I realize that I need a loaf of bread and before you know it, I have 7 or 8 things in the cart. In all of the supermarkets to shop at, this place had great potential to be a pleasurable place to do daily or biweekly shopping. Sadly twice in one week I've had to complain twice about the behavior of a young man John. He works at self checkout. He's very anxious to convince you that your credit and debit card is declined. He claims "the system doesn't accept Apple Pay, Chase or use of the phone to pay for purchases" He repeatedly told me I couldn't pay by phone. This was false. Payment was obviously made when the receipt came out. He walked away and said nothing. Again, stood and watched while I HAD 30 plus items. The regular register was closing down, same "John" stood over me again and watched me, offered no help. When I felt he was predatory, and borderline harassing me, I started to record him. He told me to stop. I told him it's my right in a public place. You may ask, I can decline. He was absolutely unbearable. The manager approached, confused. These employees are completely rude and incompetent. I cannot give this place business. I'll go to Giant. read more

Weis Markets - John Watch out for this one - Grocery Near Me - Hummelstown, Pennsylvania

This store does not seem to care about selling out-of-date food. I was in their condiments section looking at numerous brands of relishes, etc., and every package/can/carton/ I looked at on the shelf had only out-of-date stock. This was true for at least 5 different items. If you are going to shop there, DO NOT assume the store will be abiding by Pa Dept of Agriculture rules for properly disposing of out-of-date products. read more

I had to pick up a quick few items for Mother's Day before heading back home from Hershey. I came in and was greeted by the site of a ton of Mother's Day items for sale including a variety of flowers, cakes and chocolate covered strawberries. I decided to pick up some roses, some other flowers and some chocolate covered strawberries. I didn't see too much of the store other than the very front, but it looked fairly nice. The checkout was very fast and easy as well. This Weis is located in a shopping center and they have a nicely sized parking lot. Altogether, this is a solid Weis supermarket with a nice variety of items. read more

I can't say enough great things about Mae st Weis . Fabulous Friday's are just that! Fabulous! Specials u can only get that day. Buy one get two free great meats. A real bargain! Extremely well stocked always are the groceries.employess extremely helpful and courteous. Mgt is top notch. They really listen to u if u have a problem and take care of it pronto. Great deli good soups great meat staff. One of the very best stores in the area! And clean as a whistle. Been shopping at Weis for decades. Happy camper! Luv luv luv it. I highly do not recommend coming here. The place had trash everywhere and the floors were wet without any signs of warning. There was mold in produce and the meat was rotten. It looked like a walked into hell. The staff wouldn't help me and I had to wait for almost 15 minutes just for someone to tell me where I could find a specific item. One of the staff members, "Kim" kept ignoring me and kept talking to me like I had done something to upset her. She was also on her phone a lot and same with multiple staff members. I normally love shopping here but with the new staff and a ton of teenagers running the store, I could tell that this place was gonna not pass inspection. read more

This is always been my favorite grocery store when I go home. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised to find out but I can now buy alcohol in the grocery store. Hot damn it's about time. Pennsylvania still has all kinds of weird rules and there's only so much alcohol you can buy on one visit. You also have to purchase it in the alcohol area so if you only have a little bit up groceries you might want to get them first and then finish up with your liquor so you only have to check out once. read more

This store has gone downhill to the point that I refuse to shop there. One person on register while managers just stand around. Horrible. I tried to call twice and the phone literally rang for 20 minutes before someone answered. I put it on speaker and was reading a book. No one answered so I hung up and called back again. For the location, this Weis is kind of ghetto. The store is dark and gloomy, the staff aren't that friendly, and there is never more than 1 register open, but don't worry, nobody is ever in the store. Best bet, go across the street to Giant, or go next door to Target read more

The prices here are ridiculous, considering the quality. We stopped on our way out of town (Hershey Park) to pick up a few things on our way back to the city. Basically, all of the produce we bought went off before we could use it (pumpkins molded in less than a week, potatoes in a bag had eyes, apples were mealy and horrible), and everything else was overpriced. Maybe if they made their prices more reasonable, they could sell products before they went bad. read more

I bought the chili near the salad var area and ended up with food poisoning. Then the artiichoke dips in the cabinet were all expired as of Nov. 1. I went back to same store on Nov 8. The dip was still there. I said something to a worker who said the will get to it. I,hope so. I noticed a few items on the shelves that were expired from gluten free items to yogurts . It is still a good store but just be sure to check the labels and maybe ask about the chili and the date it was prepared to avoid possible food poisoning. read more

I read other reviews and felt compelled to write one even if I usually do not. i think many low star reviews are just plain unfair to this store. It has its pluses and minuses, but nothing like these bad reviews claim. Yes, prices are a bit higher than Walmart, but it is compensated by the service, variety, and shopping environment. Also, they have deals for their card members - 2 for 1, etc. The produce is generally good, with very few exceptions. I would say they were originally geared to their Central Pennsylvania Dutch clientele, but now have more variety than before, comparable to other markets in the area. read more

Worst first experience EVER! Not busy in the store at all, went to the cashier, signed up for a Weis Club Card, got my groceries and out the door I go. I get home, lo and behold, all of my frozen items were not given to me! Steak, burgers, vegetables, a cool $25 all gone. I call right away, not even 15 minutes and what did I get? "Sorry, another person must've gotten your items. If you come back you can get store credit and you can get them." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I have to go back to your store, to your desk, present my receipt and then go grab the items? Put on all the PPE required, not counting take time out of my work schedule for YOU? When you screwed up? Not even a "why don't you tell me what's missing and we can do a curbside for you. Just give a time and it will be ready." No, threw it all on the customer. Talk about lazy and horrible customer service. Keep my $25, Weis will own up to the mistake, but it still puts the hardship on the customer who got screwed. This is for the Mae St. store in Hummelstown. Renovation is very good and today. The added entrance to the beer section is very convenient. It is very clean and has a huge selection of things in all areas. I find it difficult to navigate and find what I am looking for but, I will get accustomed to that. Shop with your eyes open for prices. They have some bargains and some very aggressive pricing- beware. Quality seems to be very good. The customer service is the "best" we have found in the Hershey/ Hummelstown area for the large box stores. The food in the food court is also the best we have found in the area. The salad bar and the soups- especially the chicken noodle- are restaurant quality plus. And the food is a very good value in the food court. read more
