I purchased Ground Sirloin on Friday, kept it in my meat drawer and began to prepare it today to make spaghetti sauce. It's sour, I can smell that it's not good. I called the store and spoke with Owen, "He said they haven't had any complaints on the ground sirloin and he was sorry. I paid over 18.00 for two pounds and it's spoiled. I used to purchase all my meat from Weiss, but there has been a definite change in their beef. I won't be returning. I hope you have better luck. read more

Love Weiss'. Price, fair. Quantity, excellent, but, the "the burnt ends", lack luster. These pork belly pieces were half fat. I was excited when I saw them but the seasoning was 90% salt and 10% I don't care about my job. I totally support using "scraps " but these were bad. The marinated filet mignon bites were amazing. It is a clean little market that has great food for its limited area. I suppose if there was something special you wanted, they would be pleased to order for you. But I can't imagine too many people in the area wanting anything special. No insult to the residents, but they are middle America. They want steak, chicken and some fish. Nothing fancy. The service was outstanding. The staff is helpful and tries anticipating needs. If you want to get game food processed there is an extension of the market in the strip mall that caters to that customer. If you live near here, patronize them. They deserve it. It was my first time there yesterday. Just moved to the area about 2 weeks ago. The sale sign outside is what caught my eye. Went inside to purchase what saw on the sale sign. Could not believe how nice, pleasant, and upbeat all of the workers were there. Very helpful seeing it was my first time in there. This place employs many young kids. One such young kid finished serving another customer and watched me walk up to the meat counter. He made eye contact and turned his back to begin idle conversation with another young employee who was otherwise engaged. I waited, as other customers walked in. The young employee turned back around, ignored me, and asked the new customers if they needed any help. They declined, saying they weren't ready. He then turned away again and began literally dancing around and rapping. Another employee, who'd been busy, finally offered to help me. I would suggest an adult supervisor and more stringent employee vetting, but I'm just a paying customer. read more

WOW ! this spot is as good as it gets. Plentiful parking. The staff is incredible and super helpful. They talk you through all of their products. Weiss's Meats makes their own sausages and burgers in house. I'm impressed. The store is not overwhelming like a Kroger, it feels like you are family when you are shopping there. That may be due to the fact that so many brothers work there together! I wish there was a location further south on the Eastside, it is a bit out of the way to be my go-to shop for produce and meat. Very disappointed. I have been going there for YEARS. I went there during this shut down. Which they make you order on line and pay with a Credit card, call when you get there so they can bring you food to your car. Which I understand. BUT TO CHARGE ME AN EXTRA $ 4.00 is TERRIBLE. In my opinion I am trying to help the small business in the area. Then to CHARGE me to walk out the door to deliver my food. Pizza places that deliver don't even charge that much and they drive it to your door. I will NEVER shop there again. It is terrible that they are taking advantage of this situation, when we are trying to help them out. Really did it cost them to walk out the door and give me my order. read more

I love going to this place! Not only is the meat and deli selection awesome, they often go above and beyond. I frequently see the workers calling customers by name and vice versa. I would suggest going at slower times as they will often offer additional things such as trimming the meat or walking your items out to your car. My favorite thing is that the same person helps you from when you walk in through the store including payment. read more

DO NOT LET THEM PROCESS YOUR DEER! DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR MEAT! I HAVE PROCESSED OVER 20 DEER MYSELF in the last 6 years I know what I am talking about! I will not eat what I got back from WEISS' MEATS AND DELI all the meat showed signs of being mishandled from excessive air exposure (only god knows how long it was left out!) to even being FREEZER BURNED! as for the trimming ... I could have given the knife to a 5 year old and got back better results! even if they would have just carved up the cutting board! as for the amount of what I got back WEISS' MEATS will have you saying "Where is the rest?" one 9 point buck does not equal 1 milk crate of cuts and 1/2 a milk crate of burger! if they handle the rest of the meat like they did my venison I literally threw it in the garbage I WOULD NOT FEED IT TO MY DOG! read more

Good meat shop that is kind of hidden. Very good selection of fresh meats to choose from. Picked up a Prime Rib for the Holiday and for no additional charge, they detached it from the bone, tied the bone back on for roasting, trimmed it, and put a rub on it. Great Service!! read more

I discovered this place recently, very good quality meats and very good service. I have only had poor service one time from one of the young guys. I felt like I was bothering him. He kept saying "WHAT ELSE" each time I told him what I wanted. Then when I got home I discovered he forgot to give me two of the items I wanted from the meat counter. I had been going to Weiss for eleven years but wound up getting bad meat three times in the summer of 2014. The owner stated that the store "Stands behind its products" but it turned out to not be the case. The second time I attempted to return meat, he would NOT refund my money nor exchange the item for a different product. It is my belief that the market must be purchasing its product from a different and cheaper distributor this year. So, unless you don't mind getting stuck with chewing on meat that resembles chewing on leather, I would recommend you find another market for which to purchase your meat. And come to find out, our neighbors have been getting "tough" meat from there themselves as well. read more

I had heard good things about Weiss' so I decide to give them a try. Last deer season I took a monster doe into Weiss to have it butchered. I believe it was just under $100 which is high, but I didn't mind as I was expecting exceptional service and quality. Once I picked up my meat I determined it was the worst butchering I have ever seen. (Been hunting for 20 years, have seen and/or butchered a hundred deer.) The back straps were completely mangled. I wish I would of taken a picture of the pathetic, tiny strips of meat they gave me and labeled them "back straps." The overall quantity of meat also appeared to be short, as I only received 4 steaks that were cut quite thin, 2 roasts and an average amount of burger. It is obvious they are keeping some meat, to process and sell in their market. While deciding what I want to do with the deer I took last night with my bow, I was reminded of Weiss'; which prompted me to warn my fellow hunters of this place. Do not get your deer processed at Weiss', you will more than likely be disappointed. I cannot recommend in good faith. With aspen smokehouse closing, I was in search of a new processor last year and came across weiss's meats. You drop your deer in the back of the store where its dirty with litter and they have a make shift work station out in the elements. Yes, they skin and torch the hair outside. if its raining, your deer and meat get wet. It its hot, deer gets warm. The kids are blairing rap music which for a business, I thought was very unprofessional. Just inside the door is where they cut the meat and it looked to be a mess inclusing the cutting tables and benches. After it was all said and done, the vacume seals werent very good and I found deer hair in numerous packages of meat. I understand they got an influx of business with aspen closing and probably werent prepared for it but its not a good location or setup for processing and because of that, the quality lacks. i will not be going back and will search out another processor this year. read more
