I've been a customer of Randazzo's for many, many years. The quality has really gone downhill this past year or so. Most of the prepared foods seem to be bought premade from Sysco: no flavor and barely any meat. The stuffed cabbage used to be excellent, but now it's not only flavorless, but it's 95% rice with a hint of meat. The staff at the hot food and deli counters are basically unfriendly and generally act as if you're bothering them if you try to purchase something. Randazzo's used to be excellent, now I prefer Nino Salvaggio's, at least the staff is friendly, and the food doesn't come pre-made from Sysco. read more

Hot food menu is changed on a whim and the person in charge is very cocky when questioned , maybe next week.... Produce is overpriced 6 dollars for a pineapple that other stores are selling for 2 dollars! Coleslaw is vinegary, lunch meat from deli goes bad quickly, no longer carry 10 pound bag of potatoes , 5 pounds only. Peppers of all colors way overpriced especially near any holidays. read more

It isn't just expensive: the management argued with me over returning a 25 pound box of canning tomatoes. I bought 75 pounds of paste type tomatoes - their website said they were San Marzano. The first two boxes were so bad I had to cut over 50% off: the inside was bright white and woody, hard. The taste was sour and awful. I ended up with 5 quarts instead of 12-13 quarts that's usual from 50 pounds. I kept going, hoping after cooking it would be good. It wasn't. AFter the whole day prepping and pressure canning, I decided to try one jar of the measly 5. It was horrid: no tomato taste. Canning hadn't improved them. I looked up "the insides of the tomatoes are white and hard" and found articles from a university extension office about white and hard insides of tomatoes, being a problem with nutrition uptake and that they were as "ripe" as they'd get. Hot weather or too much/little water can cause. When I tried to return the last box after calling ahead and arguing with a manager who said *I* didn't "ripen" them correctly!, I went with the box and both managers argued, wanted me to take another box instead of getting store credit. I insisted and they grudgingly stopped telling me "they'll ripen" and "no one else complained". I HAD been going to just throw them out but it just made me angry that they treat customers like that. I will spend the store credit they gave me and never go back after that. read more

Always love going to this Randazzo's - it's worth a little ride and I usually wander around for at least 1 1/2 hrs taking in all they have to offer, from the hot foods- fresh- baked pizza/muffaletta / olives area to the butcher counter, the fresh seafood counter, the deli , the sushi corner, the cheeses, pastries and breads areas, the fresh vegetables,,of course, and a pléthora of everything I else didn't even mention in all the nooks and crannies of this amazing chock - full of wonderful things to eat Italian Market called Randazzo's!! This is mainly based on the service at the fish counter. But I'll circle back around to that. The products are always available even if higher for some than others. A floor helper found some hummus, but it had to go back at that eye-popping price. There is ample tempting pre-made salads, sandwiches, and other deli like food. The hot food is basically a full dinner with several options to choose from. The counter folks are pretty nice, but one day a lady was kinda hostile to my inquiry. The dude at the fish counter is always helpful. They usually have a good variety of fish ranging from Atlantic Salmon to Alaskan King Salmon to Norwegian. Even Halibut, shrimp, and a host of whole fish. Anyhow, I bought a piece of swordfish. For sure, this is a try of something, but not a norm. There were two options of swordfish, so I asked. He was able to give me the difference, which is where the cuts came from on the swordfish. I usually ask about the various non-standard fish and get honest answers on availability and potential taste. It's nice that someone knows about the products. This gourmet mushroom pizza is the stuff of legends. I'm the farthest thing from vegan or vegetarian, but when it comes to pizza, you can't go wrong with this one. I'm talking beautiful wild mushrooms, accompanied with loads of mozzarella and Parmesan with an amazing white truffle oil drizzled all over to finish it. I watched the chef toss a generous handful of Parmesan all over it so it's no joke. This man knows what he's doing. I need to get his name next time. He's always there when I go in for lunch and he's meticulously making each pizza and I'm always honored to have a slice made by him. He takes his job seriously and I can't say enough about him. Oh my Goodness. This is the best looking grocery I have seen in a minute. It's beautiful. There is so much to see, you just want to buy one of everything. The displays of fruits and vegetables is so well done, I thought I would be the one who after I pick something, everything else falls down. I really enjoyed my experience at this Randazzo, of course I tell my friends, you have to come see my Randazzo, not the one by my house, or the one on the East side. It's mine. And mind you, for no real reason, I'm not a fan of Randazzo... until Now! You need to shop here. I bought the Blake's Apple Cider donuts and I promise you they were warm and fresh baked. I don't know how they did it, but they were (they weren't warm) delicious. I am a huge fan of Carmel apples and they had some with chocolate and nuts, I was in heaven. I got fun stuff too like apples and cabbage and greens and carrots and such but I really liked that they have so much, the store is neat and during these times , there seems to be enough staff in attendance...good times Go ahead, stop by and enjoy yourself. read more

This store is absolutely gorgeous, but so overpriced! We have shopped there a few times for produce, which they often have nice sales on. However, I have also seen loaves of bread going for $10 per loaf! The cashiers are always pleasant, and their selection is great too. This has to be the nicest Randazzo I have ever been to. It's nice outside and inside. I happen to have stopped by on my way home. Made a quick stop. Needed some salad fixings. They have nice looking produce and fruit usually. Picked up a Romaine head, tomatoes, green onion, red peppers, cucumber and tomatoes. They have lots of great salad dressing options and plenty of standard grocery items too. read more

I stopped in here only because I was in the area after my chiropractor appointment and needed items to add for my daily and week ahead "Salads". I bought cherry tomatoes on sale 2/4.00 in the square plastic containers for a decent price. Their large colored peppers are sold by the pound not each, so not to my liking or budget. Therefore I bought those at Meijer on sale 1.00. I bought 2 packages of snow white mushrooms photo attached that looked very fresh and from Canada/Michigan = Aunt Mid's. Yes great brand and company to buy and support! I also bought a sale item that caught my eye = Organic Mixed Spring Mixed Baby greens for $2.99. I attached a photo of an item Olive Oil by the pound to see and smile about. To me the prices are high here on vegetables and fruit maybe because its winter especially by the pound not each item ?? I will stay with Kroger or Value Center stores for my salad fixings. The store was tight and small with aisles to shop. A bit hard to get down the aisles with baskets. I gave this location a try since I was a few blocks away from my appointment. This branch location is on Garfield Rd at 16 Mile which is a very busy business corner. Their hours: Mon- Sat 8am to 8pm. There's a machine to buy fresh popped popcorn. Free coffee to enjoy while shopping also ( 3 flavors.) Not to my liking so didnt indulge to try the flavors of the day. Let me start by saying that Randazzo is usually a good gamble if you are looking to get a hot, high quality meal. The store and the hot food counter is usually top notch. Tonight, however, was a different experience. The first thing that I noticed was a fuel smell when I walked into the store. I didn't pay a lot of attention to it until I had been in the store for about 10 minutes waiting to place my order. My head started to pound, and I felt a bit dizzy. I asked my fellow patrons who were waiting along with me if they could smell gas, or some kind of fuel smell, and they agreed. When paying for my purchase, I asked the cashier if the store was heating with propane, but I was told, no, it was kerosene. I made a remark about the prominence of the smell, and I was told by 2 employees that they had mentioned to management several times that the smell was overwhelming and causing the staff to get headaches and feel poorly all around. According to both employees, management told them it wasn't that bad. It was really bad, actually. I couldn't imagine working in that environment. I was in the store for under 20 minutes and I was negatively affected; I couldn't imagine working an 8-hour shift. I felt really bad for the employees. The other issue was the quality of the prime rib. Again, the meal is usually fantastic, but tonight was different. While my husband's steak was cut properly, mine was cut on an angle, where one end was only about an 1/8 of an inch thick, which means I did not receive a proper serving. Additionally, it was so very, very salty. I can not understate the saltiness of the meat; it was pretty much inedible. Given the nearly 20$ price tag for the meal, my expectation is that it is prepared properly and tasty. That just wasn't the case tonight. Overall, Randazzo dropped the ball tonight. The kerosene heaters need to be removed (seriously...you are making working and shopping conditions unbearable), and there need to be more quality control at the hot food counter. read more

Gormet to go is great they have many fish offerings witch I enjoy, full meals if you're hungry or sharing (two sides), or a mini if you're not that hungry (one side) I am a Seaford lover and they have housemaid tartar for fish meals. read more

On any given day I would give Randazzo's a 5 star, but today was awful. This is my first visit to this location since the lifting of restrictions. I was immediately impressed by the signs everywhere saying employees were required to wear gloves and if you witness an employee without gloves on please bring it to the manager's attention. Unfortunately only the employees at the pizza and meat counters had on gloves. My interactions with 3 employees at the pizza area were less than pleasant but I will skip that assuming they were all young and relatively new it seems. The guys at the meat counter were top notch as they always are. Randazzo's has, by far, the best filet mignons in town. They usually run around $27 a pound and they are worth every penny of it. What compels me to write a less than 5 star review was the lack of social distancing in the store. I completely understand not hassling the customers, but no effort to rearrange the store has been made. I appreciate that many of my favorite items are now prepackaged like olives and their fabulous breads. The check out was however unbearable! While 6 foot marks are on the floor they chose to open registers that were side by side thus making it impossible to maintain social distancing. There was only 4 registers open so they had plenty to choose from and chose the least safe way for everyone to check out. I'm incredibly disappointed and can honestly say it will affect my ability to shop there. We are a high risk family and after shopping at the Hayes Road store I expected better. read more

I stopped in on a Friday afternoon to grab some large salads and asked for a sandwich tray. The team at Randazzos had a huge tray of Italian sandwiches, provided forks napkins, dressing and even extra plastic plates for our work lunch. Fantastic service! I've been frequenting Randazzo's various locations for years, but this one is my favorite. At Randazzo's you'll find everything from homemade pizza, home style meatballs, lasagna, and more. The bakery produces top notch breads of all kinds, and desserts that'll knock your socks off. The produce is of high quality as well. You'll be hard pressed to find bruised fruit or overripe produce of any kind (check my pics). The staff is very friendly and knowledgable as well. I spoke with a manager that went above and beyond to make me feel at home. I hate seeing the old people pick through the olive bar with their fingers (not the kind of finger fucking I like to see dude), but it happens at most places, so I wouldn't hold it against them here; although it did keep me from spending money from their olive bar area. Basically, you can't go wrong at Randazzo's, UNLESS you appear to be flirting with Maria, because her mom will find you and hunt you down my dude. read more

My spouse bought chocolate cupcakes and when she tried to eat one it was as hard as a rock. 4 cupcakes for $8.99 is a little expensive for super hard cupcakes. Then i seen the date code label. 6/8 which I assume is of last year! Apparently they are lacking at removing old items from their shelves. Its become too expensive to shop there. read more

I think when I first reviewed this place I had a very skewed vision of what was awesome and a lighter financial load on my plate (no pun intended)...Skip a few years forward, and a heightened and more logical point of view can be ascertained... We love the fresh prepared coffee drinks, and the bakery is decent as well. Nice selection of produce and the prepared foods look great.

I've been shopping here for many years and have noticed the prices have gone up far beyond the normal inflation -- $10 for 1/2 gallon of organic milk as an example. The staff was rude, from the person who works in the wine department to the guy behind the hot meal counter to the cashier. Papa Joe's in Downtown Birmingham has better prices and friendlier employees as does Nino Salvaggio. Randazzo is convenient because it's close to home, but I will be driving a bit further for lower prices and nicer customer service. read more

I wish there were a lot more of these stores in Michigan. Great selection of produce, deli meat and the most important, desserts! Wanted to get some sweets but ended up getting a lot more. I do recommend the cannolis, they are finger licking good! Not a great deal but still worth it. I have also gotten the sushi here before and it was made fresh that day. read more

I would have given this store 5 stars. I'm Italian, it reminds me of home and I always find what I need... however, yesterday at checkout, I was berated by cashier for buying a product that was on the pricey side. She then picked up the item and announced it to everyone checking out what I was buying and how much it actually was in Europe and couldn't believe that I was buying it. If she doesn't like how her store prices items, she should take it up with management... not embarrassing those that come into store to purchase.
