Party Platter (Comes with 4 servings of Miso Soup)

Love love love this spot. Been to many other sushi places in Bergen County and I keep comparing them to this. it reminds the most of East (which closed during Covid). This is one of my fav places to order sushi platters. I dont even care that its to go only - it's still my go to place when I need sushi. Always on point...always fresh AND their rolls are big. I hope they never go out of business because I just may cry!

This place is always on point. Their sushi is gigantic so definitely able to share. And although it's not dine in anymore, the food is always fresh.

Put in a take out order for Friday lunch. Took about 15 minutes for the order to be ready. The 3 rolls came with couple of extra sushi and miso soup. Soup was good. Eel avocado sushi was nice too. Other two rolls were little disappointing to me. For some reason I do not like the rice they use their sushi these days, tastes so stale. Probably would start trying other sushi restaurants around us.

Love the local sushi place. They are very popular so even when you call and order ahead, easily 25-35mins waiting. First time ordering bento box and I love it. Prob will order it more from now on. I think it's still take out only.

Yup this place still kicks ass. What we ordered: 2 avocado rolls, 2 salmon avocado, 1 vegetable Sansai yaki udon, seaweed salad, and a crunch roll. Hit the spot! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Not too much rice on the sushi. My 1 year old niece tried sushi for the first time and she loved it. Placed an order for pick up at 1:20 and it was ready at about 2:00. This place is popular, usually order at least 30 minutes ahead of when you'll want it.

The sushi was very good. The rolls are large and very fresh. So tasty and flavorful. They gave side salad and soup. The service was very friendly and fast. The only strange thing is, you can't enter the restaurant, you have to order then go wait in your car.

Every time I pass well being sushi it's always crowded so I finally got a chance to try it and I understand the crowd. The sushi is soft and the perfect texture. The shrimp and crab rolls I had were very good. They also threw in a wonton soup that I believe was complimentary. I genuinely enjoyed this meal. They are take out only which is cool. Order in advance if you don't want a 40 minute wait when you're hungry.

COVID set up! I LOVE IT. no contact at all! Taking extra precautions to ensure everyone's safety.

I stand by my first few reviews: this is a great sushi spot. However, this is like the 10th time I've ordered from there with the rice being like an inch thick (I'm exaggerating). I actually stopped ordering from here because of the rice issue, but decided to try it again because their lunch special is a really good deal. Big regrets. I WANT TO TASTE THE SALMON. I also wanted a salmon avocado roll but I guess I was misheard :(

Great place for rolls for take out. Platters are definitely worth it. Hot foods (eg teriyaki chicken, tempura) are just average.

The only issue was that it's a little awkward being the only table in the restaurant and sitting at the sushi bar... Cause we had like eight people attending us and looking at us and listening to our every word. But you can look at it in another way and assume it felt like more of a private dining experience, which is cool. Because it was our first time there, we didn't wanna opt for the Omakase because my husband and I have had mediocre Omakase experiences and they don't come cheap. And something we didn't realize that this place does, that many other Omakase places don't do, is make their sauces in house to pair with the fish. A lot of omakase spots locally don't care to make a budget for sauces when they can get it ready made. A huge unique selling point of this place was at each sauce was separately made and stored in different containers to pair with the fish it was intended for... And when the chef had mentioned that a lot of Omakase places don't do this, It made a lot of sense. We ordered the Hamachi Jalapeño, tuna Crispy rice, tuna 5 ways, single nigiri pieces of sea bream and mackerel on my side and my husband ordered more basic pieces which I can't recall. We also Ordered the Hokkaido scallop cucumber roll. As soon as we tried the apps, we regretted not doing the omakase just because we knew it was gonna be that good. For Context, I haven't found any place in New Jersey that felt like a go to sushi spot that had high-quality fish, incredible pairings and seemingly consistent. The Hamachi jalapeño were bigger cuts of tuna with like this jalapeño paste sauce. It was amazing and proper spicy. No addtl sauce needed. The crispy rice tuna was insane. The hot rice paired with the cold tuna and their fixings were amazing. It didn't look like much, but it packed a huge punch of flavor. I think it might be the wasabi they use But both the wasabi and soy sauce were insanely good The tuna way of our little attempt at omakase ish. They gave you four pieces of Nigiri ( 2 being fatty tuna pieces) And a chopped tuna hand roll. I'm a texture person so I wasn't a fan of the hand, but each piece of tuna was better than the next. The fatty ones were insanely melty and lovely And I just really goes to show that I don't think I've had good high quality, fresh sushi or fish from many places Because no place matched up to this. I had ordered a piece of sea bream which was insanely good. I've never tried anything like that before and if I could, I would order 20 of those alone. The mackerel was really good and not fishy at all as well. The Hokkaido scallop Cucumber roll was very simple, but packed a huge bunch of flavor when you dipped it in the spicy sauce that it was paired with alongside a soy sauce wasabi combo. You could taste the quality and freshness. I was drinking a glass of sparkling wine... The wine was fine before I had the sushi... But drinking a sip while eating my sushi totally changed my palette as the sparkling wine paired so well that it became sweet. Last, but not least the miso cheesecake - Absolutely incredible and made in house. We ordered two more to go And they thought we were joking. That's how good it was. I don't miss New York City when I have sushi from places like this.

I enjoyed the best spider roll of my life. The soft shell crab was encased in the most perfect rice. My boyfriend was wowed with his selections and the green tea was fresh, hot and satisfying. We ended our meal with purple potatoes and ice cream. It was interesting and enjoyable. I would definitely return here especially to use their spotless and stylish bathroom!! Definitely highly recommend though you may need to plan in advance and make a reservation.

Prior to arrival, the driver was instructed to access the property from the right side of the house where there were no steps. Despite those instructions, the vehicle was driven onto my lawn. In my observation, the truck became stuck and spun its wheels repeatedly, leaving significant ruts in the yard. I questioned the driver at the time about why he was driving on the lawn. The situation became extremely disruptive to the event. The driver asked guests for assistance moving the vehicle multiple times, and several family members spent a significant portion of the celebration dealing with the issue rather than enjoying the occasion. I was also uncomfortable when the driver suggested that my teenage daughter assist with moving the vehicle. The vehicle issues caused substantial delays, and we missed a large portion of the meal and celebration we had planned for my parents' anniversary. After the event, the driver left before cleanup was completed and returned hours later. As a result, my family handled much of the cleanup ourselves, after paying the company a substantial premium to do so. In the end my property sustained substantial damage to my lawn and sprinkler system. The overall experience fell far short of what I expected when hiring a professional catering service for a once-in-a-lifetime family event. When I contacted the company to discuss my concerns, I was disappointed by their response. Rather than addressing the issues I raised regarding the event and the damage that occurred to my property, the company informed me that a waiver had been signed and took the position that it was not responsible for any resulting damages. From my perspective, the response felt dismissive and left me feeling that my concerns were not being taken seriously. I would not use this company again.

We worked with Andrew Jin, one of the owners, and unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Our contract did not reflect the sushi display we had selected, and instead of confirming the display beforehand, Andrew sent an oversized boat that was simply too tall for our guests to access on our kitchen island. About 45 minutes before our event, Andrew admitted there was no time to switch the display and gave us an ultimatum: accept the display as-is or have the chef leave without serving. Given that we had no food alternatives, I reluctantly agreed to accept the display, though I was clearly unhappy with the situation. However, after that phone call, Andrew instructed his chef to pack up and leave, even though I repeatedly begged him to stay and serve our guests. He stopped answering my calls, and my fiancée and I were left in a panic as our rehearsal dinner was essentially ruined. While a full refund was issued, its clear that this was done out of spite rather than good faith, despite what Andrew may claim. I want to emphasize that this is not about money, nor am I seeking any compensation. My only purpose is to caution potential clients: if you have an important event, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere for catering. I could never, in good conscience, recommend SEP Catering to anyone.
