Who doesn't love AYCE sushi? Not having to choose what rolls you want? Testing new rolls without feeling guilty if you don't love it since it's all you can eat? Win win situation right? Sadly I was completely disappointed. For $29.99 a person on a Saturday night it's decently priced. Restaurant was located in a strip mall next to a few other stores, not a busy area but plenty of parking so no worries with that. Got seated right away, place was 75% full so that says a bit. Well that was my first impression at least. We tried a few appetizers such as the fried scallops, lumpia, gyoza, tako yaki, tori noodle and of course the Kani salad and seaweed salad. Solid choices, def a few things here I hardly see at other ayce sushi spots. Can't really mess up fried items? Scallops were sweet, lumpia was crispy, kani salad was mainly crabmeat and less cucumber which I did like. Usually it's more cucumber than crabmeat. That was a nice change. Now the sashimi... pepper salmon (thinner cut than I'm used too and was in lime sauce? God I hope it was lime sauce and wasn't just sour) Eel was good, lots of sauce which kinda messed with the flavor but no big deal. White tuna was in chunks, I did NOT like that concept. It was an odd texture to chew when it's literally the size of an ice cube. The rolls? We had the Philadelphia, miso roll, spicy girl, passion roll and spicy bomb roll. Let's just say every single roll we picked up? Did not make it to the plate in one piece. That was beyond annoying! Come to find out the nori wasn't fully sealed to the end aka the rice doesn't have a good hold or wasn't closed tight enough. Yes I took a pic of it to show what I mean by this. Also the rice was way over cooked so everything just tasted... mushy. Overall I was def concerned if everything was fresh. So I stopped eating since i do have a weak stomach which yes I know is tricky when it comes to sushi let alone AYCE. But hey, now I know...I tried it here and ehhh safe side don't try it again. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and nicely presented. I really enjoyed their lumpias (I haven't seen this at any other sushi spot!), fried scallops, spicy seaweed salad, and their nice variety of sushi rolls. Our group finished off with the tempura oreos (yum! but definitely recommend not overdoing it since the oreos are kind of big and sweet) and ice cream. Pricing isn't far off from other places in southern NY/North Jersey ($27.99 on weekdays and $29.99 on weekends). The service was good overall, but the water refills were not 100%. Pretty much on par with just about all of the AYCE sushi restaurants I've ever been to in northern NJ --- and that's not a bad thing. We popped in on a late Friday morning, just after they opened their doors at 11:30, and we pretty much had our pick of a table, as expected. We sat down and were immediately presented with the AYCE menus, which was very, very standard and in accordance with all of the other AYCE sushi restaurants I've been to - meaning it was pretty much a replica of all of the other menus we've seen at AYCE sushi restaurants. You had your small salads, appetizers, soups, fried foods, noodle soups, teriyaki, desserts and, of course, sashimi, sushi and rolls. Nothing out of the ordinary for this type of a restaurant. We started off with appetizers and got a bunch of different ones to start, as well as to end our meal. Everything was decent, but my favorite was the perfectly fried and PIPING hot shrimp tempura. It was sooo fresh (despite it probably just being of the frozen variety). As for my wife, she couldn't get enough of the BBQ Squid. To be honest, and not to knock any of the sashimi or sushi, but these were probably our favorite items of the meal. It's the small things that make us happy. As for the sashimi and sushi, all of it was great. It was all presented very neatly and nicely on a huge plate and it all tasted fresh. We pretty much ordered every type of sashimi and tacked on a few pieces of sushi and everything passed the taste test and, most importantly, we survived! At the end, we ordered some dessert in the form of some green tea and red bean ice cream along with the fried bananas and fried oreos. The ice creams were OK with the red bean being a bit off in our opinions. The red bean flavor didn't feel like it came all of the way through and the color of the red bean ice cream was a bit on the bright side. The fried banana was good, but it definitely would have been better if we didn't wait 5 minutes before touching it. As for the fried oreos, they're not your carnival fried oreos because they use the same batter as they do on the tempuras, but still not bad. As of December 2024, their prices are $27.99 M-Th and $29.99 F-Su, which I guess is considered "reasonable" these days. Some restaurants give a better price during lunch, but it seems this Sushi Village is content on just keeping it simple and providing customers with just 2 prices depending on the day they drop in. Service was also good as the waiters/waitresses came by to clean up our plates often and also came to fill up our teas as well. I swear I posted a review of this place years ago when I last visited. Sushi is good. One of the better ayce around. Now is it better than Bop N Sushi???? No, but Bop N Sushi is. It an ayce. Still the quality at Sushi Village is there and they have a ton of variety! Anything you would want is there. Love the Salmon Skin hand rolls (must clearly state when ordering). Service is good and not fawning but also not abandoned lol! They are appropriately staffed which is nice. Some places you are breaking your neck looking for your waiter which is a turn off. Ambiance is one click too dark. It is longer than wide and quite cozy. It Can get crowded but that is to be expected considering the low entry fee lol! A great place to eat and meet. Sushi Village provided a solid experience through my Uber Eats order. We had the gyoza, edamame, shrimp tempura roll, and California roll - all tasted fresh and were definitely enjoyable. The shrimp tempura roll, in particular, was a hit, and the edamame was perfectly cooked. The only downside was the miso soup, which was a bit on the salty side. My in-laws enjoyed the meal, and overall, it was a satisfying experience. i can add this in my list, when re ordering again. Second time visiting in honestly 11 years. Sushi Village was all the hype back then - needed RSVPs, good quality of food, etc. I've moved states since then and stopped in with friends for a catch up dinner. As we would have back then, we made reservations. To our surprise, the restaurant wasn't as busy as we remembered it to be. Also to be frank, the second we got there, the employee who handled us was rude and impatient. The friend who made our reservation had the furthest to drive, but no worries - usually reservations are by name. The employee named us by party number (7) which we weren't sure of off the top of our heads so we took a minute to count. He kept repeating himself and visibly got frustrated with us when we didn't have a quick response. Another employee had to step in and he did what most restaurants do and confirmed the name the reservation was under (there was 6 of us by the way). The rude employee then pointed us to our table in a quick mumble and again, got visibly impatient when I asked him to repeat himself. Usually customers are walked to the table, but he just looked in the direction of the table and we seated ourselves. After seating ourselves, the rude employee came to our table to ask for our drink orders. There were four of us at this point. One of us immediately responded with water as the rest of us needed a minute to think as we just got there. He huffed and questioned us again. We ultimately got water all around because of how obviously rushed we were. Once he left, my friends and I vocalized to another how poorly we were being treated. We were seated close to the kitchen so I wouldn't be surprised if he heard us. After that, each time he returned to our table, he mostly had his head down and didn't say anything. The food here was nothing special. We ordered a bunch of sushi and sashimi and nothing was bursting with freshness or flavor. It was incredibly bland. The sashimi wasn't event cut through all the way. We only ordered one plate shared between 6 people. We also ordered dessert which I wasn't impressed with either. My friend and I visited Sushi Village for lunch on a whim, so it's good that I keep gluten-free soy sauce packets in the car at all times. We were seated quickly and were given the AYCE menus, but ended up switching to their regular ordering options since we didn't plan to eat that much. I have come here far more times than I can remember. The place serves decent AYCE sushi. Their kitchen menu is also good. They serve soups, shumai, edamame, katsu, teriyaki chicken and salmon among other. I like the peppered salmon and their kani salad. Personally I come for convenience because it's the nearest AYCE to me but the place is mediocre when ranked against other AYCE that I've tried. I use to love coming here, however the quality has gone SOOOO LOW. We went there a few days ago and got the AYCE. Within 20 mins of eating the sushi/sashimi, I started feeling very nauseous. I had food poisoning from the bad sushi that I ate there. I ended up throwing up 3 times before leaving the restaurant, and then got home and continued throwing up and feeling sick all night. I even had to take off from work the next day. I thought maybe I just wasn't feeling well, but my mother and my father BOTH had food poisoning too. They ate with us and they both ended up throwing up and feeling so sick the whole night. We will NEVER come back again. Spending that amount of money to get sick. We even told the owner that the sushi tasted bad and it smelled and tasted like it was spoiled. She just said ok. Did nothing about it. She didn't say oh I'll talk to the sushi chef and check. Sushi Village is one of the few popular AYCE sushi spots in Bergen County. They are located within a mini mall by a TJ-Maxx so there is tons of parking. Sushi Village has a wide array of food to choose from when marking down your choices on a piece of paper such as dumplings, takoyaki, lumpia, sashimi, special rolls, soup, and more. The takoyaki lacked in squid and was pretty much 95% dough but, for an AYCE place, there was not much to expect since sushi is the main reason why people come here. The sashimi tasted fresh and came in a reasonable size. The sushi did not taste as fresh and was just OK. I noticed that they really packed on the rice so I did find myself getting full very quickly. The servers are not very courteous or friendly (at least the one we had). There was an incident where the server accidentally knocked over a glass bottle of soy sauce while she was cleaning our table which shattered all over the floor. Soy sauce splattered on my partner's pants and the server did not even acknowledge or apologize. She just got someone to clean it up and proceeded to go about giving us the bill. We were not expecting a free meal or a discount but a simple apology would have been nice. I am doubtful we will return here as we did not appreciate the coldness from the staff. read more

You will get the typical sushi rolls, with maybe 8 unique rolls here. there are about 6 different types of desserts to choose from, not just the usual green tea ice cream - they even have fired oreos. now, where sushi village differs from most AYCE spots, is the amount of apps. they have an abundant of that - kani salad to different terriyaki to soups to pot stickers to fried good ness. where i was a very let down were the nigiri and sashimi.since sushi villiage doesnt have the best quality of fish, both of these options suffered. fish was kinda hard and flavor wasnt strong on pieces. sushi rolls were good, alot of rolls with avocado versus other ingredients. decent fish to rice ratio. what i didnt like was the amount of warm rice used. clearly they dont plan how packed they will get during dinner hours and dont cook the rice in time, many of my rolls had warm rice. service was okay, at places like this you know to wave down the waitor/waitress because it gets packed. to be honest, id probably come back once to give them another chance, but sushi villiage is more bang for your buck kinda place read more

Sushi village is a solid 3.5. I work near by and it's a great spot to get all you can eat sushi. I like the concept and how attentive they are to coming back and fulfilling your order. I got 2 sushi rolls. Sushi was fresh and filling. I also got a couple orders of veggie egg rolls and Shaumi . I had a good time and could see myself coming back. Service was very quick. The ambiance is clean and comfortable. I believe they may also be byob It's 27.99 per person for all you can eat- when I visited on Friday night. Big tip for those coming in large groups-don't order sashimi in large amounts. We ordered 100 pieces of salmon and it came in odd sizes and different thickness. Suggest you order in groups of 25. We came here on a Tuesday afternoon, for the all you can eat deal and usually the sushi buffets in queens would be around 25 on the weekdays but this place was 3 dollars cheaper. The sushi was more fresh as well. Usually other places would have a very fishy smell and they woudn't be using the best ingredients but it's hard to blame them since it is a buffet BUT, this place was was on top of things when it came to freshness and quality. The only minor complaint with the fish is that the salmon was cut a little too thick. The appetizers was amazing, I mainly went for the BBQ squid, the fried scallops and the fried shumai/dumplings. It was really good and a nice switch up from the sushi/sashimi. Don't forget to get the dessert at the end. I went for the fried oreos, fried banana even though it was a little soggy for my taste and the vanilla & green tea icecream. The service was very good and I have no complaints. I've been here SO many time prior to COVID and it was always a favorite spot. Fresh sushi and BYOB! However, my most recent trip (2-days post really bad snow-storm) I am pretty sure I ate rolls that had ingredients that went bad. Specifically the spicy crab roll and the kani salad on top of other rolls. The spicy crab roll had a dry and crusty texture and tasty awful. The top of other rolls had kani salad that had awful texture again (DRY AND CRUSTY) and tasted sour. When we addressed our server, they looked baffled. No one addressed this issue or appeared to be concerned. The food was not edible - we sent it back. Writing this review, especially given the hardships of the pandemic, was not an easy decision. However, serving food that has gone bad is UNACCEPTABLE. read more

She had my food on a table to the side of her where it was easy for her to reach. While I was waiting to sign, she threw her card at me the paper to sign and the pen at me.
