Ordered takeout from here for the first time and unfortunately, the experience was not a good one due to several blunders. Firstly, one item was missing. Second, I ordered several sushi rolls and no soy sauce was included. Lastly, I specifically asked for the beef in the beef teriyaki to be cooked to a medium. It came well done. On top of all of that, this place isn't cheap. With so many sushi options in the area, I don't see a return visit to this place any time soon.

I just picked up dinner from here last night. The food came around 40-50 minutes later than the text from the restaurant said it would be. Luckily we weren't in a rush so it wasn't too annoying. The poke bowl was pretty good, however is wasn't very big. There wasn't that much salmon in there, which was disappointing considering that's the best part. The ramen was also kind of expensive and other local places are better. For some reason, the ramen was $2 more on Doordash than it was at the restaurant. If I had known this, I would've just called and ordered directly from the restaurant. Due to the extremely long wait time and the fact that there's better restaurants in the area for cheaper, I won't be coming back here.

Very fresh I had the spicy Korean Ramen it was good but not spicy ...avocado bomb fresh tasty but way overpriced if I'm ever in the area I'll eat here again the man making sushi gave me a free sample and it was delicious

I found a local gem. Per my friend's recommendation, I finally visited this restaurant and realized I should have tried this place much earlier. I had sushi omakase and was surprised with the quality of the sushi. I work in the city and am a regular to those high end Japanese restaurants, and what I had at Hoshitori was very comparable (or even better) to those popular pricey places in the city, run by famous chefs. If you want "quality" sushi, this is definitely one of the restaurants you want to keep in your favorite list.

so so so good, super fresh food,m. i will say it's a much more popular option for take out but i go for sit down all the time. we're always treated so well and always given a california roll on the house! highly recommend the miso ramen. they have a huge vegetarian section which is awesome not a lot of places have that available (and if they do it's a little lacking) but they do an amazing job here!

I asked if my takeout order was ready and was told it would be "a few more minutes." After waiting approximately 15 minutes, I checked again and was given the same response. During that time, numerous dine-in customers continued to be seated, and several other customers were also waiting for takeout orders. About 10 minutes later, I asked for another update. The employee attempted to explain the timing on my receipt, but I pointed out that the estimated pickup time had already passed and that I was simply looking for an accurate status update. She went to the kitchen to check and returned with the receipt again, at which point it became clear that my order had not even been started. After waiting nearly an hour from the time I placed my order, I asked for it to be canceled and left. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened when I've ordered takeout from this restaurant. I completely understand that restaurants get busy, especially during peak dinner hours, but if the kitchen cannot keep up with both dine-in and online orders, it would be much better to temporarily disable online ordering until the backlog is under control. Other nearby restaurants, such as Okinami, do exactly that to avoid long waits and frustrated customers. The food has always been decent, but it is simply not worth waiting almost an hour for a takeout order--especially when the order hadn't even been started and I was repeatedly told it would only be "a few more minutes." I would much rather be given an honest estimate upfront than continue waiting without any meaningful update. Better communication and better management of online orders would go a long way toward improving the customer experience.

It's a classic and simple Japanese cuisine owned and run by a Korean mom-pop couple who bought the restaurant from another Korean mom-pop owner/chef duo in the early 2000s. This tiny but mighty restaurant has survived a fire, pandemic and two recessions. In spite of it all, their food and service are always good. I do have to mention that their fried oysters are new on the menu and a bit too briny/oceany for my taste. They also have some sushi pieces with "MP" for market price; be sure to ask what that price is. Our server, while wonderful, did not explain how much the uni was and it was a doozy on our bill ($15 per single sushi piece; not for both as written on the menu so be attentive when you order!) This is a genuinely small business so there are only a few tables and some bar seating. Go when it's not rush hour to avoid crowds. They can get impacted. But the wait is always worth it. Stick to the raw bar. They have good quality fresh fish. Their makis (rolls) are also good if you want something more dynamic and bold but I like just plain raw fish on a bed of sushi rice. The sushi chef here is a veteran sushi chef with decades of experience so it's worth trying if you love sushi. I always enjoy supporting the good old family run small businesses and this one is definitely worth it. Great spot for families, dates, and even solo meals.

Both came with soup and salad, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary tuna tataki appetizer. We also had the nigiri saki. The food was decent and, importantly, very fair for the price. This isn't high-end Japanese dining, but it doesn't pretend to be - what they charge is reflected in what they serve, and we felt we got good value for our money. I'll keep my memories of my meals in Tokyo and Kyoto separate since as one can imagine, there is no comparison. Our waitress was a real highlight: humorous, polite, attentive, and genuinely respectful. Good service goes a long way. Definitely worth knowing about if you're in Piermont and looking for a reasonably priced Japanese meal close to home.

I've been ordering from Koi 21 for years, but had never actually gone there to eat in (side note,…read morethe delivery experience with Koi is also amazing). Upon finally heading there to actually sit in the restaurant and eat, I was really pleasantly surprised. Koi is tucked away from the main stretch of restaurants in Pearl River and has its own parking lot which is an added plus. The interior of the space is really pretty - they actually have a koi pond with waterfall inside, which gives a really pretty vibe and they even have these tucked away spaces for more private dining as well. The staff is so friendly and attentive - your drink never gets close to empty before they're asking if you want a refill and the food comes out quickly. The food itself is DELICIOUS - definitely my go-to sushi spot in the area with a great variety, so if you're not a sushi fan, there's still hibachi and a lot of cooked dishes too, so there is something for everyone. The price for value is wild - the portions are big and the quality is always excellent. Some of my favorites are the crab rangoon, the veggie gyoza, tuna pizza, the rock shrimp (basically a bang bang shrimp that is SO delicious), and honestly any of the sushi rolls (the OMG and Crazy Tuna specialty rolls are always a hit and I always love a Philly roll with avocado and cucumber as well). There is a minimal upcharge for brown rice, which is my go-to. Another plus is that Koi has a full bar. The wine by the glass options are okay, but the lychee martini I had was decent! Not the best, but still a bonus and nice to have. I will still order delivery from Koi, but will also make more of an effort to get here for the great service, food, and atmosphere!

The atmosphere gives off a trendy vibe, with a chef from Chopped behind the concept. It was pretty busy on a Saturday evening but tables were available indoor and outdoor. Reservations are probably a good idea if you come at a busy time. Similar to a tapas or dim sum place, you check off your order on a slip of paper. Really enjoyed the complex yet simple flavors of the shrimp dumplings (3) though they were very small bites, the fish taco (1), and the pork belly lettuce wrap plate. Each dish is paced out to you as they see you finish. The lobster taco was good but at $17, pricey, for its small size. Savor each dish because they will be gone before you know it. They charge a mandatory 4% kitchen fee, which I understand in theory but not in practicality for customers in these times. This evening there were a few Lantern flies spotted, one of which landed in my glass of water. Parking is easy and shared with a few other nearby businesses. They also have Taco Tuesdays to get discounted tacos. This is enticing because each taco is small and not filling in its own.
