I no longer live in Goldsboro, but I make sure to pay a visit to Well Traveled every single time I'm in town. It's a great place to see familiar faces, catch up with friends, and try out new beers and ciders. I've also always been impressed with the bar tenders' recommendations. Not only is this a nice place to grab a wide variety of beers, you might also catch a good truck outside! This place is great for a chill evening, but it's also an amazing venue for events. There's a back room with ample space, and it's perfect for holding small events. We recently planned a 10-year high school reunion in the back room and it was perfect. As first timers he made us feel right at home. Great service, paired with an excellent selection of local craft beer, makes this place a MUST if you're in the area. I'm so happy I stopped by, The Well Traveled Beer has a really great selection you wont find most of the usual beers offered at the gas stations but a huge selection of the best beers from around the country and local. I found a few of my hard to find favorites and sat for a bit to try something new. Sam is well informed in his craft. The atmosphere is clean, warm and inviting. I stumbled across this place at the far end on downtown Goldsboro. Historical building that's been newly renovated. They weren't opened yet, but one of the owners, John let me in and we chatted for a awhile. He told me they just opened about a week ago with his brother. Really nice guy and a great selection of craft beer from all over the globe. Some familiar and unfamiliar brews. The interior is designed with an open rustic and artistic approach. There's a great mural on the far back wall with some custom paintings along the side. I highly recommend you to stop by and say hi and grab a cold draft or grab a pack of something unique. read more

I went into this establishment earlier in the week and was shocked. It is not a craft beer store or bottle shop as I was led to believe from their website and Apple Maps. It has much more of a bar feeling than anything else. I went in around 6:30pm on a Wednesday evening and could barely hear myself think. I was hoping to pick up some beer for my husband but left after a few minutes. The bar tender seemed more concerned about the people at the bar than anything else (another reason why I say it's more of a bar than bottle shop). There were only about 6 other patrons inside and the music was so loud (and another reason). Their selection did look wide, I just needed help narrowing it down, I needed to be able to hear myself think about what I wanted. read more

Sam and John are incredibly helpful if you're new to the draft beer scene and they're also great at suggesting things that you might like to try that's a little outside of your norm. I usually walk up to the bar and can say "surprise me, I trust you" and am happy with whatever they give me. They have a rotating tap so there is a new option for each type of craft brew but they also have a large bottle selection that you can take home or drink there with friends. They host an assortment of events from movie nights to yoga classes to metal midnight and they truly care about your experience. This place is a favorite of mine, for sure. read more
