Wellbridge of Romeo has a lot to recommend but there are some serious negatives. The facility is located in a quiet tranquil wooded area and the building itself is very nice. Staff is quite good especially nurses Emily, Stephanie, Erika and Jordin. Also aides Lisa and Kathy. Physical therapists Nancy and Martha were very encouraging when I was often weak and negative about going to PT. Alex was the best dietician and counseled me on nutrition to get stronger and healthier. Speaking of nutrition, the food was not good. Coffee was always cold. Eggs were cold and rubbery. The food was pre-made and not very nutritious or appetizing. I finally settled on oatmeal for breakfast. The only decent coffee was in the Bistro, but it was often closed due to staffing shortages. But the WORST was the blood draw system. They almost always drew my blood at 3am! And the phlebotomists poked me way too often until they could find a good vein. Being awakened at 3 am and then poked repeatedly doesn't help in recovery or health improvement. On at least 2 occasions they lost my blood samples and had to redo them! read more

i spent 3 and a half months at Wellbridge. the place is clean and very nice to stay at. pt and ot took my from not being able to stand to walking with a walker. i have no complaints. read more

Wow, what a great place. I recently visited a friend who is residing here for physical rehabilitation services. Expecting to see a building complex along Main Street I was pleasantly surprised to find their location set back far and away from their street address. Once inside, the receptionist provided simple-to-follow directions to my friend's private room. As I made my way through the facility, I passed through the cafeteria and residential dining room. Everything I saw was modern, clean and well organized. Once inside my friend's room, we were able to visit in the comfort of a quiet room with little interruptions. I stayed for an hour and a half, and felt very comfortable during my visit. My friend had nothing but good comments about the facility and services rendered. All of the employees I encountered were warm and cordial. While I hope to never need their services, it sure looks inviting! read more

The nurses are caring and concerned about their patient. Most of the staff are excellent. The ED. Seems to have an issue with Talking over you. No matter what complaint you have she lays the fault on you, The access to gain entrance after hours is horrendous. Bypassing the ED I would recommend the facility read more

Wellbridge of romeo. The facility is clean . The staff s helpful, courteous and professional. Therapy is consistent and effective. overall A very nice facility.. here's where they fall way below par. FOOD SERVICE nutrition is a important part of the healing circle . EVERYTHING IS SERVED ICE COLD. BARELY EATABLE. suggestion comment and special menu requests fall on deaf ears. Understanding COVID, limited staff Has affected the process but someone needs to seriously address this issue. STEP UP to the plate, food service, you are a very negative impact on this otherwise nice facility. At best you deserve a D- and I'm being kind! read more

Facility was nice and the people were pleasant. Husband was there for rehab after a knee replacement. My problem with them was he was doing well, then started going backwards. Didn't say a thing. Not to me, not to him. When he was released to go home, he fell going into the house. Required more surgery and turned in to a nightmare. Don't trust them read more

My mother was admitted at Wellbridge twice. Overall, it's a beautiful facility and many of the staff seem really good. There seems to be a shortage of staff. Can't find someone to ask a question. My mom waited for long periods of time to get assistance to bathroom. This last time, wellbridge dialed 911 to send my mom to the hospital, and the week before she was at Beaumont. They recommended Beaumont as she needed a transfusion. They ended up sending to Henry ford Macomb. The distance is equal. No paperwork was sent to Macomb. When we came back to pick up personal belongings. My mom's stuff was on the floor. Her medication with her name on it was missing. Though all is suppose to be locked up. I'm understanding but I called to talk to the Director. I left a message over a week ago...no answer. They need to get things together.... read more

My mom is in long term care at Wellbridge of Romeo. The facilities and staff are very nice and the food is excellent! Visitors can purchase items at the WB Bistro which is a cute little Starbuck coffee stand with freshly prepared sandwiches. My mom will take her visiting friends to the Bistro for lunch so she feels like she's dining out even though she isn't leaving the building. The prices are very reasonable and the food quality great! If you have to be in a facility this is a great one to be in! read more

Lou W. Macomb County My wife was admitted to the facility after a stay in the hospital for a leg infection and other complications. When admitted she had recovered significantly and was in need of physical therapy to regain mobility. The staff in general is capable and caring although somewhat understaffed. After a week or so my wife seemed to weaken, and the therapist commented that my wife seemed to lack motivation. Within another week or so her condition seemed to worsen with more weakness, some confusion, and complications with blood pressure and heart rate. I was called and the unit manager indicated they felt she should return to the hospital. Within a day at Beaumont Troy the doctor there called and stated my wife had a rather severe UTI (urinary tract infection), and asked if labs at Wellbridge had indicated the condition. I responded this was the first I had heard of this condition. The UTI was serious and shut down my wife's transplant kidney, weakened the heart condition, and eventually caused her to go into cardiac arrest. Our families consensus is that this condition was missed by the medical staff (coordinating physician) and frankly should have been diagnosed. Our feeling is that this facility can provide good physical rehabilitation, but if there are underlying medical conditions, you should consider other facilities. read more

I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. There were some very nice nurses that deserved 5 stars but the Management, the one day a week Doctor (who refuses to come see your failing parent ) and a nurse named Shelly all had a hand in the pre- mature death of my parent. Wrong medicine, wrong oxygen levels, and left in a dark room do to lack of help for over 12 hours. After my parent died - no one even contacted me. My loved one was only in there for REHABILITATION! read more

Not an environment for elderly patients with memory care needs and stroke patients. Many of the employees, nurses and aides, were friendly and had good intentions however the facility was severely understaffed, especially with nurses. Falls were common because of lack of bedrails and medication was mixed up several times. Simple requests and tasks took Much too long and disorganization was far too common. I would not recommend for an elderly patient with memory issues or stroke patients, the facility is very noisy and doesn't provide a peaceful environment for healing. read more
