The staff is so kind and helpful (Wendy is amazing) and the instructors are great at motivating you during classes, telling you good job by name and pushing the class during the difficult moves to keep going. I can definitely tell that what they say on the website is true, the classes don't get easier, you just get stronger. They have classic Pure Barre classes, cardio (Empower) classes and a more challenging classic class Reform. The only thing I wish they had was more Empower classes.

This is enhanced by the friendly small group setting, meaning that you receive so much more instruction (and assists!) in a single class than otherwise. Tamara also has this fantastic ability to work with specific needs (e.g. my hip replacement) and to weave appropriate progressions into the classes during the week, then week over week. I have seen tremendous growth in my Yoga practice as a direct result. It is special. She will make _you_ feel special. The Yoga class is for up to six people, not heated and for all ability levels. You get out what you put in, both physically and mentally. I enjoyed it so much that I'm now also enthusiastically on a Pilates journey and recompiling my body's algorithms with how to move properly. I drive over 20 minutes to get to this location but it's absolutely worth it. The location is surrounded by some excellent eating and libations in Clifton, should you wish to reward your magnificence afterwards. You're worth it.

Two months ago they decided to close the studio with one day notice to their clients. The management swiftly transferred everyone to the Burke studio. This was unfortunate because the travel time with construction was not feasible. I asked to freeze my account for a month while we traveled, but they still managed to charge for another month! While I was away I decided to cancel my membership instead of freezing for another month. I was told they would refund the charges to my account. However, the story changed once I cancelled my membership fully. They seem to change the rules to their benefit with no regard to their loyal customers. Mind you, I stayed with the studio during COVID and joining workouts in the parking lot! I never froze my account, and actually encouraged my family and friends to join Pure Barre. In the end, my dedication to the company of Pure Barre meant nothing to them and they stole a full month of charges without any regret. I would never deal with a company like this again, and I hope you don't either, because they don't care about you or your fitness journey, they will change the rules and the days they charge your account so you will always lose and they will win. Pure Barre should be ashamed of themselves for running the business with such disregard for those who have stayed loyal to them thru the years. I RECOMMEND NO ONE JOIN PURE BARRE NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.

They offer a variety of classes and there are several different instructors. I think I've taken at least 1 class from each instructor and they are all wonderful in their differences. My favorite class is 26 and 2/Bikram, and I really enjoy Yogi Robin. She has a way of keeping you from thinking too much about how hard it is to hold a pose, even if it's only for 1 minute. She's an excellent storyteller who encourages experienced students to perfect a pose and equally guides those who are just getting started in their practice.

While pregnant my eating…read morehabits got out of control, so having the nutrition help to get back to healthy habits has made an immense difference for me that I've carried on even now months after the session ended. Additionally, it provided cross-training for my races I was running in Run Club (+Plus), and feeling strong gave me the boost I needed to go about my daily life as well. Most importantly, during easily the lowest time in my life, I had my Body Back sisters to pick me up, keep me on track, and give me something to look forward to twice a week. I am so grateful for this program and can't wait until the next session starts!
