Labor and delivery was an emotional and intense process, but the nurses made me feel supported, safe, and genuinely cared for every step of the way. My nighttime labor and delivery nurse, Kasey, was absolutely amazing. She was calm, attentive, compassionate, and exactly the kind of nurse you want by your side during such a vulnerable time. During the day, Julie took over and was just as incredible kind, reassuring, and always checking in to make sure I was comfortable and understood everything that was happening. Postpartum care was just as wonderful. The nurses went above and beyond to help me recover and feel confident as a new mom. They never made me feel rushed or like a burden and always took the time to answer questions and offer support. This was such a positive and memorable experience, and I'm so grateful to the labor, delivery, and postpartum teams especially Kasey and Julie for making such a big moment in my life feel so safe and supported. I would absolutely recommend this hospital to anyone preparing to give birth. After my son was born and got moved to postpartum Kasey even came up to check on us and see my son and my nursery nurses Kelly and Lauren were just as Amazing and made sure we were understood and heard when needed

Please beware of the medical malpractice you may be subjected to by Dr. Folake Familusi…read more In August of 2025, I was prescribed Levofloxacin as a second option to treat a mild UTI. I was not informed of the risks associated with this medication, I was not advised to take precaution or to even communicate with my doctor if side effects occurred. I was not supervised for the 3 days I took Levofloxacin. Baylor Urgent Care in Mesquite did not check in on me. I experienced 3 days of insomnia, tendon pain which caused me to injure my wrist from listing up clothes, constant diarrhea. I also experienced hallucinations and extreme anxiety- anxiety that lingered for months. The effects of Levofloxacin caused a huge toll on my life, as the antibiotic resistance it caused made me the constant struggle to be cured from the UTI, due to being constantly switched from different antibiotics. It also caused me to not be able to walk for weeks from the pain in my leg's tendons, resulting in me having to quit my job. I also spent a lot of money on doctor's visits, medications, ER visits, therapy visits and even an ambulance, due to being prescribed such a harsh antibiotic without any warning. The effects of Levofloxacin also caused a huge strain on my mental health, after instantly giving me symptoms of anxiety once I started taking it. These symptoms lasted months and consisted in doctor visits, crisis hotline calls, and medication to repair the effects it gave me such as suicidal ideations, panic attacks, constant anxiety attacks, nightmares, and memory disruption. The lack of care from the provider who prescribed me Levofloxacin during the 2 minutes she took to see me, without warning nor informing me of risks, was completely negligent and caused a lot of damage onto me and my health.

Finally get back to a room, Nurse named Bob A. Asked what meds my wife was on and in the middle of her answering some random staff member walks in and they both walk out together. He asked how long her pains been going on, and we told him 30 mins before we got here and the full 3.5 hours we've been waiting. He laughs and says "oh that ain't long!". I have health problems, 22+ visits to the hospital in the past 2 years. Oh, and that "room", they put us in, is a freaking storage room. I am already there for a heart condition and I have to deal with nasty attitudes from nurses that clearly hated their jobs. They kept me overnight which turned into a complete mess. I had critical medication I was on and they gave me the wrong dosages at the wrong times. I am in my 70s and have had 21 surgeries. This was the worst ER I was ever in. I also was a combat medic the military and not oblivious to the challenges they face. I will never return to a Baylor Scott facility under any circumstances. Also the rooms were smelly, looked very dirty and housekeeping lacking. My room had a hazardous wate container thst was overflowing. When the doctor got there, who was quite professional and proper the nurses changed like a light switch. Pretending to suddenly care for my comfort and needs. Thank God Mesquite Specialty was able to get her off the ventilator and get the tube out of her neck. She started to work with the rehab folks and got the feeding tube out also. After a month there she finally made it back home. They even checked up on her while at home which i appreciate that a lot. At least some people still care.

During his stay, we observed a noticeable decline in his condition and repeatedly voiced concerns regarding his health and overall care. Despite our concerns, his condition continued to worsen, ultimately leading us to remove him from the facility and seek emergency treatment elsewhere. Upon arrival at Parkland Hospital, our father was admitted to the ICU with septic shock, respiratory failure, and other serious complications. Further testing revealed a dislodged feeding tube and a significant abdominal infection requiring emergency surgery. We understand that our father had complex medical conditions, and we recognize that not every outcome is preventable. However, the findings discovered after his transfer have left our family with serious questions about whether his condition was appropriately monitored and whether warning signs were recognized and addressed in a timely manner. We are currently pursuing formal reviews through the appropriate channels and believe families deserve transparency when entrusting a loved one to a healthcare facility. Based on our experience, we encourage families to remain actively involved in their loved one's care, ask questions, document concerns, and advocate strongly when they feel something is not right.
