By the time I got there he was discharged and was wrapped up with gauze all over. The wounds had sand and gravel in them with blood on both knees, face, arms, & hands. He said that they never cleaned those areas. Just slapped gauze on them. I had to clean and re-wrap his injuries a few days later as they still had debris and was starting to look bad plus the injuries were still bleeding. The debris certainly could have caused infection. We are still watching it to make sure it heals properly. He is in a lot of pain still. I was told before I got there that this was not a decent hospital but was the closest at the time.

Now as a Merchant mariner, for over 45 years, I've done this procedure, successfuly, ever since the USCG instituted it. Also, I was an registered EMT and am still a certificated Medical Officer, aboard ships. So I actually perform these type of exams. myself. aboard ships. Thus I was appalled, as I watched them, firstly screw up the DOT papers I gave them, and then proceed to fumble the Chain-of-Custody procedure. Well, sure enough, the Medical Officer called me and advised that there were "irregularitys", in the received samples, meaning the test was rejected. So now I am under suspicion, for their incompetency. If that was not enough, when I submitted the Physical exam papers, again, I was informed by the USCG, that there were "irregularitys" there, too. So now I can't get a USCG Medical Certificate, which is required to sail--I'm out of work, because of their "irregularities". Also, they charged me almost double what I would have payed, had I just gone to Concentra. Well, so much for going back to work!

And I finally got seen. No thanks for the receptionist. Who is a liar And States we don't have any openings for several months come back then. I do not like going to the Cleveland Clinic ER in Vero Beach when my doctor has no appointments to see me for even for an acute condition, because it's usually very crowded. Unless you are dying you will see a nurse practitioner which is fine, but they also charge you a facility fee which this Urgent Care does not. At the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Vero Beach you will wait there up to 4-5 hours to be seen unless you are dying. I like this urgent care and the people that work here. I'm glad it's here in Sebastian.
