I have gone to the Brookline BSM location for several months to deal with some injury related…read moreissues as well as general strengthening. I worked with Sammy and Kait who are both excellent therapists. At age 77 and with COVID changing everyone's life (I have not contracted it and am fully vaccinated ) I know that I have been loosing muscle mass. On top of that I was thrown off a horse about a year and a half ago and continue to deal with the broken shoulder ,several broken ribs and a punctured lung I suffered. So I needed help getting back in shape. Both women worked hard to evaluate the various problems and work out exercise and stretching routines that would help me regain much of what I had lost. There were about 10-15 different movements, stretches, lifting I needed to work on to get the job done. I worked diligently on my own and many times with them, and feel I have made great progress! I walk 3-5 miles a day, play golf, flyfish, carry my grandchildren around etc. So, even though I have not found the fountain of youth, my vigorous life is back. Thank you Sammy and Kait!

After a few months, I decided to check out PT based on a friend's suggestion. My physical therapist, Elyse, was phenomenal. She's knowledgeable and approachable, and was happy to answer the *endless* questions I had about my exercises, how strengthening works, preventative measures, etc. She was incredibly patient with me, working to explain everything because it was essentially my first time doing rigorous exercise, and reassuring me that I would be able to walk and run like normal again! I started out limping and one month later, I was jogging across the room. What I found most helpful at BSM was that Elyse would model the exercises first, correct me as I was doing them, and then emailed me a list of what to do at home. Not only was my PT professional, but she was also kind, warm, and friendly. Our sessions never felt burdensome because we chatted throughout them; Elyse is very good at building rapport! I highly recommend BSM for its great staff and customer service skills, as well as care during COVID. My successful healing definitely wouldn't have been possible without PT and Elyse's encouragement and guidance!

The volume of patients in this practice is far beyond the capacity of the space and the staff. It's not a calming or healing place at all and you will feel like you are just a body part on a conveyor belt. You cannot be confident that your provider will respond to your outreach at all, let alone in a timely manner. So much of recovery is about not just body, but mind and spirit. People have to feel seen, cared for, and humanized in order to heal. This company's business model is fundamentally in conflict with those objectives.

Aquatic PT - Broken water heater in pool (no warning), dangerous for patients…read more I'd like to say that I have had a great experience at the Boston Sports Medicine location in Davis Square. This review is only for the aquatic PT/Kristen, at the Allston location. I made an appointment for aquatic PT this December. Since it takes me an hour to travel to Allston, I booked a few weeks in advance to get an appointment after work hours. I wasn't told at any time in advance that the pool water heater does not work properly. (Approximately 90 degrees is standard for aquatic PT and the BSM Allston website says that the pool is always kept at 88-90 degrees.) Even directly before I got in the water, Kristen emphasized that the pool was heated. It was clear when I got in the water that it was below room temperature; I would estimate 60 degrees. Seconds later, after I got in the water and commented on the cold temperature, Kristen said that the pool doesn't heat fully in winter and other patients regularly bring long sleeved shirts to wear in the pool. Kristen told me the heat was set to 92. She said she turned it up at my request, but the water remained extremely cold. I wish I had been told about this issue when making the appointment as I would never have come in to begin with. The next day I woke up with very painful muscle spasms that have not alleviated days later. I made calls to other physical therapists the next day, but I will now have to wait over a month to get an aquatic PT appointment elsewhere. The PT said she had other aquatic therapy patients who have the same muscular concern I came in for, so I thought it would be safe to stay in the pool despite the discomfort. I told her how cold it was and my concerns of potential muscle spasms, and I was shivering intensely and she didn't seem to care. She didn't check how cold the water felt at any point, or express any compassion. I'm so upset by how I was treated. I am struggling greatly with the resulting spasms, which would have been entirely preventable if BSM Allston had been honest and straightforward about their facilities. They absolutely should not be offering aquatic PT under these conditions, let alone without telling patients until they're in the pool.

Love the staff, especially my therapist - Aisling. She is excellent!…read moreShe listens and helps accordingly. I am currently going here following surgery and Aisling has been awesome. She doesn't rush me, but doesn't let me slack either. You can tell she's knowledgeable. I feel very confident being treated by her. This is the only place around here with Aquatic therapy (1 person pool with treadmill). Last place I went to was in Waltham in a shared pool, where the kids are jumping over you. I certainly appreciate this aquatic therapy in a private setting. If you are in need of PT, certainly give this place a try! Ask for Aisling or any of the wonderful staff, I have also worked with Caylie (spelling?) Who's also awesome. They have plenty of free parking as well.

Don't do it to yourself. I now have more problems than I had when I went in! It is costly and sad…read morebecause my treatment was going very well -- until Dr. Lingerfelt performed a test on me that I have now found out was done improperly. And, since she lied in her notes about what actually happened, the insurance company isn't paying. Wow. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone else! It is miserable to go through each day in this pain. But it isn't fair to only mention Dr. Lingerfelt. This weekend, in an email from the owner, I found out that Dr. Clark also kept notes that indicated I was recovered but in fact I was limping and couldn't breathe when she discharged me! (I wasn't limping and I could breathe fine when I came to the center for treatment months earlier.) Dr. Clark also refused to give me treatment that was prescribed by my physiatrist to help the situation, a treatment he was emphatic about. Another physical therapist has since explained to me the connection between this part of the back and all of my problems, and why it is key to my recovery. So, now I know that neither one had the knowledge or experience to know what treatment I needed. And, they point-blank disregarded the professional who did! The consequences to me have been severe. It took me a while to decide to write this. At first I believed it was the insurance company's fault for sticking me. But after a Dept of Health reviewer wrote to me of what Dr. Lingerfelt had put in her notes, I realized it was because they didn't know what actually happened. I am writing this review because if there had been reviews on yelp, I would have gone somewhere else and might not be in this situation, where months later I am still paying, and still unable to function normally.

The entire team is exceptionally knowledgeable, dedicated, enthusiastic, encouraging, and kind. What really sets Broadway PT apart is the combination of clinical expertise and genuine compassion. You never feel like just another patient. They take the time to understand what you are experiencing, explain the "why" behind the treatment, and make you feel like an active partner in your recovery. I especially want to recognize Phil for his incredible expertise and true dedication to his patients. He is extremely knowledgeable and has an impressive ability to assess the underlying issues, tailor treatment to your individual needs, and continually adjust the approach based on your progress. He takes the time to listen, answer questions, and make sure you understand what is happening with your body. Most importantly, you can tell that he genuinely cares about getting his patients better. His commitment and passion for what he does are truly exceptional. Michelle and Tom are absolutely amazing and deserve special recognition. Their level of knowledge, expertise, and attention to detail is outstanding. They are incredibly thorough and clearly have a deep understanding of physical therapy, movement, and the mechanics behind pain and recovery. They don't simply walk you through exercises -- they pay close attention to your form, understand your limitations, recognize what your body needs, and know how to challenge you appropriately without pushing you beyond what is safe. What I particularly appreciate about both Michelle and Tom is how confidently they apply their knowledge while still making every interaction feel personal. They are patient, encouraging, and always willing to explain what they are doing and why. Their expertise gives you confidence that you are in very capable hands, while their warmth and kindness make you actually look forward to coming to therapy. And beyond their clinical knowledge, Michelle and Tom genuinely care about their patients. They notice the small things, remember where you are in your recovery, encourage you when progress feels slow, and celebrate the improvements along the way. That combination of exceptional clinical skills and sincere compassion is rare. After dealing with the pain and frustration of sciatica, finding a team that not only knows exactly how to help but also makes you feel genuinely supported has meant so much to me. Every person at Broadway PT contributes to an environment where you feel respected, encouraged, and cared for. I am incredibly grateful to Phil, Michelle, Tom, and the entire Broadway PT team for the care they have given me. Their expertise, dedication, positivity, and compassion make Broadway PT truly special. If you are looking for physical therapy, I wholeheartedly recommend Broadway PT.
