    I have been here 2 times easy to walk in and staff is friendly. I'm not sure why everyone else didn't have a good experience.

I was able to get an appt for Noon today via their website. I called afterwards to make sure this was something they handle and to make sure they accepted my United Healthcare insurance. Yes to both questions. I got there at noon on the dot. My ID & insurance card were scanned. I was told I had a $20 co-pay, and it is treated like a regular doctor visit for billing purposes. I was asked to sit and wait. Not 30 seconds later I was called in. The assistant reviewed my general health, meds, allergies, etc., and took my vitals. We verified that I was current on my tetanus shots, which they need to do any time you have an open wound. She left and I waited about 3 minutes for the doctor. (I am using the term "doctor" generically, but I believe she identified herself as a physician's assistant, or PA.) She came in, took a good look at my hand, explained what she saw and what the best idea would be to close the wound. I was patched up in no time and on my way. Both the doctor and assistant were nice, friendly and compassionate. I looked at my watch when I left and I had been in there for 28 minutes! It would have been quicker if I didn't have to wait for the skin glue to dry. All in all, I had a great experience here. It's a 5 minute drive from my house, which was a bonus. I am glad to know that they are there for when I do something stupid that requires minor medical attention.

Why only 4 per day? No one knows. Not even the people who work there can give you a reason. Absolutely ridiculous and the biggest joke I've ever heard of. No I do not recommend this shit hole of a place.

At first, I was a little concerned about going with a new doctor because I had lots of issues being almost 70 years old. On my first appointment, the office staff was very kind to me and they really made me feel comfortable. Dr. Louis was very professional and fully explained everything. We went through my medical history. The more I talked with her, the more I felt that going with Gateway was an excellent decision. After several visits, everything was coming full circle. She made sure my medications were refilled, all necessary blood tests were done and Dr. Louis even had me take other tests to make sure I was healthy. Gateway Medical is a very busy facility but I have always been able to get an appointment. If I need to get a test, I'm given an in-network referral list and a summary of the visit. I truly appreciate her and the staff for all they do!

Furthermore, I am extremely disappointed with the delay in my referral to a specialist. Despite Dr. Louis recommending this referral, the necessary paperwork was not processed by your staff in a timely manner. This significant delay has directly impacted my treatment and caused unnecessary stress. I understand that I may bear some responsibility for ensuring the referral process is followed through. However, I believe it is unreasonable to expect patients to independently schedule and contact specialists when their doctor has indicated they will facilitate the referral. The information provided by your staff regarding the referral delay ("it hasn't been faxed over") was unacceptable. It implies a lack of accountability and places the burden of administrative tasks on patients. Patients should not be responsible for ensuring their own medical records are accurately and promptly transmitted. Overall, I wish there an email her patient can easily reach out to. At the very least, that can be a timestamp of when the matter has been discussed instead of trying to play phone tag.

During this…read moretime, I asked the front desk several times about the queue, and each time I was told to keep waiting because there were patients with appointments ahead of me. However, what I observed is that the system here does not seem to consider walk-in patients at all. Even if someone arrives later for a 9:30 appointment, they are still placed ahead of walk-in patients who have already been waiting since early morning. This means that walk-in patients' time is continuously pushed back, and effectively our time is being wasted. What is even more concerning is that when I tried to ask about this situation, the staff responded by saying that I was "arguing." English is not my first language, but asking reasonable questions about the process should not be interpreted as arguing. Instead of addressing the issue with the system or explaining how walk-in patients are handled, multiple staff members seemed to focus on criticizing me for asking questions. It felt like I was being treated unfairly simply because I was trying to understand the situation and advocate for walk-in patients. After waiting here for two hours, I was even told that I should go somewhere else. That is extremely frustrating and unfair after such a long wait. I believe the current system is not respectful of walk-in patients' time, and the way this situation was handled--especially toward someone who is not a native English speaker--is very disappointing. I hope this concern can be taken seriously and that the process for walk-in patients can be improved so others do not have to experience the same situation.
