I accidentally put a steak knife through my thumb and knew I needed urgent, but not emergent, care. I held firm pressure on the cut and drove myself the 19 miles to IEP. From the moment I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. Lucky for me, there was no one waiting. That NEVER happens, especially to me! But Heather checked me in and made me feel so much better about my situation. There was a sign stating that there was only one practitioner working that day, but truly, I was seen in no time, by Ainsleigh, PA extraordinaire!!! She made me feel at ease, as I had never had stitches before. Before long, I was out the door with four stitches and an updated tetanus shot, happy as a clam that I had chosen to come to IEP. If you need an Urgent Care Center, and you are are an understanding person who respects what these lovely people are trying to do for you, even if you have to wait, please give this place a try.

I went to Jackson Urgent Care on Laurence Ave twice in the last 10 days tor nausea, fever,…read morevomiting, and severe vertigo. The nurse practitioner didn't apparently run any tests. She just listened to my rattling chest and gave me a steroid and z-pack. When I returned because I wasn't getting better, she told me my nerves were probably just stressed from being sick so long and from the steroid and to call my therapist who handles my anxiety. Two days later I ended up having to go to the Chelsea Hospital Emergency room where I was given a CAT scan, chest x ray, anti nausea drug via IV, a prescription for antivert, a COVID and flu test. Ends up I have a severe case of the flu. Because of her blase' attitude Ive been suffering for a week, had to use up all my sick days, and frankly-I'm almost 60- this could've turned out much worse. I am disgusted and disappointed by this.

FIVE STARS ***** On…read moreSaturday, Feb 18, 2023, I tripped on the first basement step on my way up. Of course, this made the trip faster as I immediately fell face forward with both hands full of a crock- pot. While fast, my trip did not take me all the way to the top of the stairs so the speed was meaningless. I did, however, in a reflexive quest for survival, whack my arm against the handrail, peeling back a swath of skin about 3 inches square that was bleeding like a stuck pig. Rather than going straight to an emergency room, I consulted Dr. Google and found what I hoped would be proper treatment: Sterile Water, Non-Adhesive Bandages, and Antibiotic cream. Let's go Krogering, Krogering, Krogering... Three days later, by Tuesday the 21st, it was looking better. Still, my imagination was running wild and I could see my arm having to be removed with some horrible infection because I didn't seek medical help immediately. I needed reassurance. Doctors Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic on Laurence Ave had what I was looking for: an empty parking lot. Perhaps it was a slow morning. The inside was very pleasant. Christine was personing the front desk and made me feel welcome and comforted as she talked with me and handed me the paperwork I would need to fill out. I filled out the paperwork, albeit without my reading glasses, so I don't really know what I signed. But, nothing bad has happened since my visit, so I assume everything is ok on that front. After a short wait, maybe 10 minutes, Christine took me into an examination room where I waited a couple minutes more. Akunna came in and said she would be my care provider. I removed the bandage and she asked if I had wound-care training. I took that as a compliment, but said I didn't. She told me it was looking fine and to keep doing what I was doing. Akunna applied some antibiotic and secured a new bandage. I was happy. But, this is the best part. Yesterday, Feb 26, I received a phone call from Christine to follow-up and ask how I was doing. This has never happened to me before. Five Stars for that, alone! Although I didn't have an actual emergency that I can comment on, I do want to say that the facilities were immaculate; the individuals that I met (Christine & Akunna) were both professional and considerate (Christine offered to help me with the forms since I didn't have my reading glasses; but, it wasn't necessary); and the wait was short. If you're going to have an emergency, get to Doctors Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic at 1055 Laurence Ave. in Jackson before the sick and injured start filling it up and the wait-time increases. I continued to suffer for a few more days (because they told me not to come back for 5 DAYS) before finally deciding to go to a different walk-in. Turns out, I VERY OBVIOUSLY had strep throat. Then, to top it all off, they decided to charge me over $100 for my visit (yes, even with insurance). I am never going back. Absolutely ridiculous.

This place is pathetic. If there's anything actually wrong with you, you can't get an appointment…read morefor months. Yet they'll hold your prescriptions hostage until you make an appointment so they can collect a co-pay for no reason. In that instance, they'll get you in the next day. Except the schedulers are so incompetent that they can't get that right either, so they'll schedule you for 10 minutes after you call, and say that you missed your appointment when you show up at the scheduled time. THEN they'll send you a threatening nastygram for showing up at the correct time, while refusing to admit their scheduler is incompetent. Because everybody calls from out of town and schedules an appointment in ten minutes, you see. These people are incompetent in about every way. Use somebody else. These people are only in it for the co-pay. If there's anything actually wrong, they could care less.
