Following are my personal opinions and experiences from Wells Fargo Bank with 2 different loan officers. The FIRST WELLS FARGO LOAN OFFICER encircled his arms around me during our initial meeting and propositioned me on the second in-person meeting. He asked me if my breasts were big or small, because he wanted me to sit on his h - rdn- ss and lean towards him so he could s - ck on them. He asked me if I had thought of going to bed with him. I told him it wasn't appropriate talking to me like that and his response was: "That is not the way to seduce me, by saying that." He said he wanted to F-word me hard." I switched to another loan officer after that.
The SECOND WELLS FARGO LOAN OFFICER did not response to a lot of my questions, asked me for the same information numerous times and ignored some of my questions. I became frustrated and went to Bank of America and they guaranteed a better interest rate, but would have to start all over and I did not want to risk losing the house I bid on.
I asked this 2nd loan officer why the interest rates given to me for my loan were higher than the interest rates listed on the Wells Fargo website. His response was that my loan fell into higher pricing because I have a lower loan amount. I asked if there was a chart that I could look at of the interest rates for my loan, since they didn't match up with the website. I did not receive a response for this either. I asked him and his supervisor if my loan had been sold to another place, (example: Fannie Mac or Freddie Mac). There was no answer from either one of them.
My ex-husband gave me money as a gift towards a down payment on the house. After wasting a week, running around and filling out papers for the extra money and depositing it, the loan officer said we couldn't use the money. He said I listed my ex down as a relative and if I had listed him as a friend, it would have been acceptable. I had ex-husband down on the "gift form" and this loan officer reviewed it, before submitting it to process. He did not say anything at all about it not be acceptable. But I SPOKE TO A MEMBER OF WELLS FARGO AT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THEY SAID A RELATIVE IS ALLOWED TO GIVE MONEY AS A GIFT. IT ALSO SAYS THE SAME THING ON INTERNET WEBSITES.
I had wanted to include this money towards the down payment and the loan officer said I could not do it until it was closed. Then I could submit the money to make the monthly mortgage rates lower. He said we would have to wait till the money cleared. But it was a Money Order! However, the title company said that they have never heard of the mortgage payment being lowered after closing and that I would probably have to put in a new application and start all over again.
The Residential Appraisal Report stated that the owners would be contributing $4,350.00 to the closing costs. I asked the loan officer about this and he responded: "If it's written on the documents, Yes." I said I wasn't familiar with these documents and to please check and get back with me. He never responded.
So I emailed the title company in an attempt to get a response. They responded that he had contacted them and that it was his error. They said he read the escalation clause wrong and thought when he prepped papers that the seller had offered a credit.
