I received a Riverview Bank flyer in the mail that read, "thinking about switching banks?" and I saw it as a sign. Walking into this bank is like stepping back in time in the best possible way. Friendly staff members greet you as soon as you walk in the door. They are so cheerful and helpful that I feel as though I am in a Disney movie. They seem to know all their customers by name and take time to converse with them. They may be the only business on the planet that uses the slogan, "It's all about you." Kyle H., Hannah, Brody, and Julia have been friendly, communicative, and proactive in assisting us in our banking needs. All the staff members are wonderful. They also answer the phone when you call....no annoying phone trees or having to leave a message and wait for a call back at the company's convenience. It has been years since I've felt that a bank cared about its customers and made relationship-building a priority. I don't know why I didn't switch sooner to a local, hometown bank, but better late than never! This has been by far the worst financial service every encountered in over 30 years of banking. In opening a required account for this loan, no account numbers were forwarded to me, however they were quick to send out the first billing statement 60 days prior to when the first payment was due. Justine Anderson was the loan officer and she continually proved that customer service is not a required asset to work for this bank. This was a charming way to treat a retired veteran with 28 years service. In calling the bank (as setting up auto bill pay was not allowed unless signing up under the aforementioned account that no one provided us documents for, they couldn't find the bank account number with the loan number. I have to have the bank account number in order to do this. I had banked with US Bank in the 80's and found them impersonal back then. Giving them another chance was clearly a mistake. Sadly, I'll day that I'll take Wells Fargo over USB any day...

She typed in my number verified who I was and placed my card next to her keyboard, not handing it back or made eye contact. She went to retrieve my check hastily, still not looking at me. Removed her portion of the paper check and laid my check on the counter. Immediately went behind her computer. My card still laying next to her keyboard. Unsure if I should reach or it, but I did. I then picked up my check, envelop and a receipt. I said, thank you and began walking to the door. When I reached the door. She shouts, "Have a Good Day!" Customer service at an institution that holds your money, should be more personal. I also bank at Chase, and they're always pleasant, helpful and makes me feel like they know me.
