Caitlin B. is especially good at her job, always working with efficiency and good humor. There is NEVER a wait at Uwharrie, whether at the drive-thru or at the teller. Also, when my debit card was stolen, I had a new one in-hand two days later, without even entering a branch to report the theft, activate the card, or set up my pin. One of the reasons I use Uwharrie Bank is their commitment to the community. The bank is always sponsoring events and supporting local initiatives--support local so your money stays local!! Uwharrie Bank is a North Carolina Bank, and it only has one location in Concord, which obviously gets frustrating when you are across town. Additionally, the location is not open on Saturdays (although they have extended Friday hours which is helpful). None of this is surprising for a local bank, but it is the reason why I gave Uwharrie Bank four stars.

The tellers are friendly and call you by your first name and are very knowledgeable. The customer service representatives also do a great job. They look for irregularities among your accounts and personally contact you if they foresee a problem. They have really good mortgage rates and assist you with obtaining a loan.

This branch actually replaced my old branch about a mile and a half away. The parking lot is a one way loop around the building. Some members try to make it two way traffic (and ignore the signs) thus, creating a jam. The drive in lanes get backed up during prime banking times. I always go inside and they get you out quickly. They have a coin counter inside that is free of use for all SECU members. It is simple to run your coinage through the machine, it prints you a slip to take to the teller for redemption. They have available customer service reps to the right as you walk in. The receptionist will ask you what you need and connect you with the correct representative.

LGFCU clients use the SECU locations, tellers, ATMs, etc., and go to these locations for mortgage and loan services. This LGFCU/SECU location is extremely new, with plenty of room for tellers and cars. There are four drive-thru teller lanes and a drive-up 24-hour ATM. Inside, there are several tellers located to the left of the entryway, and to the right there is an information desk at which you can tell a clerk your intended business. There is a nice waiting room for patrons to wait for the appropriate associate. LGFCU/SECU offers some really great benefits for its members. In order to join LGFCU you just need to be a local government or county employee; for SECU state employees are eligible for membership.

As usual no bank managers were there. So the bank teller stated she could help me. She told me that if I do a cashier check for the transaction then that will leave a paper trail. So i did as she suggested. I gave the contractor the check, he leaves, then comes back in after a couple of hours to cash the check. The same stupid teller I spoke with cashed the check. He took off with the money. Spoke to the bank manager and he stated the teller gave me the wrong information and that I should have spoken to someone that was trained to give that information. So even though he admits she was wrong and should have at least called me when he returned to the bank, they cannot help me. So now I am out of my money because of ignorance on the banks part. So I would steer far away from this bank or any First Citizens bank. As someone else suggested they are just in it for the money and have no concerns, or intelligence for that matter, to help the customers.
