No one came out to greet me, find out why I was there, or a simple courteous, "I"m sorry. I'll be another XX minutes." They could both see me through the all glass walls. I finally stuck my head in the office and excused myself for interrupting, and asked how long he would be. He said to make an appointment and come back then. He was not friendly or kind in his response and acted like I was putting him out. Good for Chase. I'm sure Jamie Dimon would love to know his employees are arrogant and besides having no idea about customer service, but they're rude. I went over to Redwood Credit Union, where I was warmly greeted and treated with respect before they knew that between our personal and business accounts, we'd be running seven figure money through our accounts. I moved away from what's now the big four-_Chase, Citi, BofA, and WFB over a decade ago and was ready to come back. Now I remember the lack of personal and courteous interactions and why I left in the first place, besides all the bad policies the bank does in general. So thank you Chase for reminding me when you have terrible policies, you don't care about the people you hire, who in turn, don't care about customers.

THE ONLY REASON I am writing a 5 star review is because of Sam Harney, a Client Relationship Consultant at the San Rafael Branch of US Bank (they don't have their own Yelp page). He is unbelievably good at his job, exceptionally caring (it's genuine, you can tell) and has helped me through so many scenarios that other bankers would never spend a single second caring about. If you want an actual human-to-human connection inside the depersonalized 5th layer of hell that is US bank I cannot more highly recommend Sam Harney.

A small nonprofit I work with switched to BofM after Bank of America upped its rates once too often. It was nice to be able to walk into this business and ask about their rates. They immediately offered to waive the monthly fee on our small business checking account since it was a nonprofit that generally had a lowish balance and not much activity. Great! Not so great: having to call every month for several months to have the fee removed each time. Not so great: no calls back when we left voice mails. Not so great: dinosaur website. Really not great: mobile app. Issues? If you call "customer support" during business hours, you're in luck. Weekends, there was no support when I phoned. It isn't one issue, it's a new issue every time. Website down. Password randomly expired (only it doesn't say that on mobile, it just won't let you proceed). No answer/call back from the guy I worked with at the bank. Can't recognize the number at the bottom of the check. Etc. etc. If I could muster the energy, I'd shop around. I am so tired and frustrated and I'm mad at myself for spending even more time and energy writing a review. Let me save you some time. You've been warned.

WFB has systems problems and staff has little authority to correct bank errors. Interest from my CD…read morewhich was supposed to be credited to my checking account disappeared into cyber space, and was recovered only after I noticed the missing credit and intervened, and even getting that corrected took much time on the phone. The people were nice but did not have the authority to do anything. And even after the missing interest was recovered, it was credited back to the CD and not to the checking account, and the bank claimed to be unable to correct their error.....even after more time on the phone and a trip to my local bank. So the funds that should be in my checking account are back in the CD and not available to me for seven months. Check your statements carefully and be prepared for long waits on the phone with minimal response if there are errors.

They didn't tell me for 16 days even though they had an email address as well as a phone number. By that time, another check came in. The call center is located in Philippines and although her command of English was good, I could not understand her. I called again and got someone who I could understand and was told to, 'write a letter'. I asked if there were written instructions and was told 'no, just write a letter. I again returned to Citibank and the lady at the bank called the number and wrote down the specific instructions for them to send the necessary docs. I mailed the death certificate to Citi with the instructions and 2 weeks later received a package to complete. I completed the package and returned it. Then waited and waited, and waited. After many phone calls I was informed that I 'forgot' to list my housing status as this was mandatory (yet the form clearly indicated it was not mandatory). I gave my housing status and was told to wait 2 weeks. I waited and waited and finally was told it was in final review and would need 2 more weeeks...so I waited again and called, and this time I was told that I indicated too many income sources on the form and must only enter one. I asked which of my 3 income sources would you like me to use.....it is now going to be the middle of July 2025 and we are still no where near closing out my mothers IRA account. I will say that there is an enormous level of incompetence within the Citibank management towards the public. Staff personnel appear competent and willing to resolve issues but are unable to resolve those issues due to barriers created by management. For customers with a personnel bank account this bank is not interested in you. It is not interested in solving normal life events that happen to people. They will take your money but that is the end of their interest in you

The "manager" she called wasn't helpful either-no apology, just F-U lady and closed my accounts... Across the street is CityBank-they are really nice, always smiling and laugh with you and get their job done. Two other girls-the young blond girl and a brunnette-are cool and efficient-I never had a problem with them until I meet the ultimate "cause" of my business closure w/Wells Fargo. Goodbye forever!
