I had a quality care at each touchpoint in the ED department from the front desk to the triage department, doctors, and nurses. 2 weeks ago my dog was startled and bit my index finger on the same hand. Everything was great. For some reason by 5am the next morning my hand and finger blew up. I had developed a lot of bacteria thus the pain and swelling. I was admitted, immediately put on IV antibiotics, and the next day the infection was cut out of finger. Does it look pretty no- but I am not going to die. On admission for 6 days getting 4 hour IV infusions three times a day and infectious disease would mix up the antibiotic. Everyone was professional, kind, caring, and did their very best. I could not have asked for a better experience from a hospital. I expected a wait time in the ER and I am not a needy patient. I try to do what I can for myself. Nurses and doctors work hard. Some of my room mates would have tested my last nerve with how demanding and rude they were. It was very clean and I left with almost no infection. I get my stitches next week. I would not hesitate to recommend Ephrata Hospital. For me it is small and you are not just a number. A+++

The surgeon was competent and considerate and she communicated well and answered my questions. They were also very organized and let me know exactly what stage of the procedure my daughter was in by posting it on a screen and also by sending texts.

This used to be a great family practice, until Well Span takeover! They lost who I feel was their…read morebest doctor. That is Dr Weber. I recently changed PCP's because my health is not good at all. Dr. Weber knew my health like the back of his hand. Then after he left (due to takeover) I was assigned to a new CRNP. My health issues, mainly terrible coronary artery disease and two open heart surgeries and then a pacemaker to top it off. I did not feel I was any longer getting the care that I needed. For them to assign a complicated heart patient to a CRNP makes not a bit of sense to me. I gave the guy a chance. A much longer chance than deserved. If I had rated Lake st. prior to Well Spans takeover I would have given it 5 stars! Now everyone seems like they are walking on glass shards there. Kind of like they are in fear of losing their jobs. Maybe the CRNP will be fine for someone that has a common cold or something simpler than CAD and many other ailments. But after being a patient there for well over 5 years, it was not hard to notice the huge change in the care and not having my messages returned was the last straw for me.

While the sign outside says Urgent Care, they will bill you as a hospital - which generally has a higher copay. We went there for X-rays because my insurance says that there is a certain copay for X-rays at an urgent care. When we get the bill, we find that it was billed as a hospital out patient visit - costing a lot more! This is flat out deceptive! They put huge signs up saying "Urgent Care" when they are not that. I hate it when people decieve me inorder to make money. There is another Urgent Care over on 272 near the CVS. I'd recommend going there instead.

Terrible! I went there for minor orthopedic surgery. The nurse who attempted to start my IV stuck…read moreme three times and then got mad when I suggested she get someone else to do it. Then she implied she couldn't get it started because my arm has a full sleeve of ink. They prep you for surgery and then you lay there and wait....;and wait......and wait. They have one OR and there were about 9 of us for surgery. There's no tv, no magazines, nothing. You literally lay there and stare at the ceiling for hours. They could have suggested I bring something to read when I made the appointment or provide something. After waiting 3 hours I then had to get up and walk to the OR dragging my IV pole and holding my gown closed behind me. No wheelchairs?! Stretchers?! I felt like I was in some sort of discount surgical center. I would NEVER go there again.

EXTREMELY AWFUL HOSPITAL. I was assaulted and violated during my echo and tilt table. I left there…read morewith several bruises all over my breasts. When I stated I was uncomfortable and in SEVERE PAIN I was told to "just be quiet, I am almost finished" the nurses leaned all over my body during the procedures. The procedures in general felt 'rushed' as if the nurses did not want to be there and do their job. I felt extremely uncomfortable and violated, I was not reassured once, I was not informed about the process, I felt as if I was being treated like a criminal in a place that is supposed to show you the most care and comfort. There were at LEAST, 8 different nurses in a room with you, one of them will be playing on their phone while the other is playing around on her Apple Watch, while the other is being trained. We are the practice dummies. These nurses are right out of high school and have absolutely no idea what is going on around them. I would never, EVER recommend anybody to this hospital! I am traumatized, I will never be returning. I will need therapy after my experience at this Ephrata hospital. Please, if you care about your health and body, do not go here, do not send your children here.
