Evergreen is known for impeccable food, not the typical "nursing home" food. We were encouraged to sample everything as we created our boards. The chef explained how to use the textures and colors of the cheeses, meats, and fruits. The fig spread was amazing!

Nursing staff was understaffed, uncaring, full of lies, and petty. They left him sitting in a wet diaper for 8 hours. This facility has a bad rep for a reason. Stayed here for several weeks for rehab after an accident, and I never want to return here again. During my first week there were several times I was left sitting on the toilet for over a half hour after I pulled the call button. Bed sheets were never changed and when I asked for clean sheets I was told by three people that wasn't in their job description. Never received a shower the whole time I was there even though I asked repeatedly. Dietician never informed the kitchen about my food allergy and that I'm a vegan. Food was terrible, and when family members brought in fruits and snacks I could eat, the staff ate it while I was in rehab. Missing items - glasses, arch supports from The Good Feet Store, hand lotion, and the top to my pajamas. The cross stitch that I had taken with me was vandalized - a corner was cut off and I cannot salvage it. The woman in the room next to me complained about a mouse in her room. and I heard that there was an ant infestation on the first floor. Don't bother complaining. Not one of the staff wears their name tags right side up so you don't know who they are, and they all have the opinion that everyone over 60 is senile and can't remember anything.

The inpatient care on the fifth floor at Drake Center is wonderful. I thought it might be crazy to put up a Yelp review for hospice, but the folks at Vitas deserve acknowledgment. It's definitely a calling, not a job for everyone here. We even got a Sunday message from housekeeping that brightened our day!

The nurses who cared for her were phenomenal, They were in and out of her room all day every day tending to her and making sure she was comfortable which included bathing, repositioning her, clean briefs, etc. Their compassion was 100% genuine. One Nurse that stands out in particular was named Rebecca and I just Loved her and how sweet and caring she was to Mom, She treated Mom and my family with full compassion. They were in full communication with us and walked us through every step leading up to her passing. I would certainly recommend Vitas for the care of your Loved one in their last days. Services we paid for such as showers, cleaning, bathroom assistance simply were not provided and many times my mother was simply "forgotten" to be taken to her meals in her wheelchair The turnover of all positions from ineffective administration to aides is scary without proper training or accountability. Try to find care elsewhere if possible so you too won't be frustrated and disappointed with this facility.

I walked in the door three days ago with the big thing being learning to deal with having my chest sawed in half and then sewed shut (no metal staples anymore), a scar which will take up to eight weeks to heal and imposes huge limitations on use of your arms. I also walked in convinced that I was going to be really nice to everyone and make this a positive experience, which I'm persuaded enough already is true, so (AT LEAST) four stars.
