Unfortunately, Welty's does not stand behind its fingerprint service. My prints were rejected by the state police, yet several requests for a refund have been ignored by Ms. Welty. (Worse yet, the print rejection delayed my starting a new job!) Summary: they will NOT issue a refund if your fingerprints are faulty - even if you show them the proof. read more

Bad experience.....I went into Weltys to have a real estate document notarized. I dealt with two very pleasant staff. They did the work and charged me. The lawyer sent the document back to me and said it wouldn't be acceptable the way they had done it. The staff said that was the only way they could do it. I then went to an escrow agent.....guess I should have gone there first because they took care of it in half the time and for less than half of what Weltys charged me for doing it incorrectly! I went back to Weltys, explained what happened and suggested that they may want to check their procedure because other notaries had no problem meeting the requirements. Their response was "we'll just have to agree to disagree". They are 2 blocks from where I live but I won't be dealing with them again. read more

I've been here several times and it's quick and easy to drop stuff off. Lots of shipping options. However, I find the cost is a great deal higher than the post office. For example a package mailed priority from them which cost $17.70 and the post office cost $11.15. The most recent time I questioned it and they reported its due to the difference in distance, which was not the case, same weight/size and location. It might be a good idea to wait in-line at the post office. read more

I have spent countless money here over the years. But never again!! I understand they charge more than post office but it is more convenient. I don't mind the upcharge as long as the customer service is there. I went in today and asked for a piece of tape so I can ship my box. The guy hands me a small piece of tape that clearly would not be usable. I ask for a larger piece "tape is for out going mail, we have rolls over there". Sweet. Just had another Livescan done elsewhere this week for $15!!! UNLIKE THE "POSTAL" SHOP, I WASNT QUOTED $20 ON THE PHONE and THEN CHARGED $70!!!! Sadly, it's near the sea and not this desert. But check out school districts and police departments that might provide the service at a better, honest price. And they obviously won't mislead you by providing a different quote on the phone or say they did nothing wrong on your personal Yelp account. read more

I sent off a Christmas package on December 19th for my daughter in Florida only to have it returned to me today and the owner/manager Lindsey (she wouldn't give me her last name) was extremely rude and inconsiderate! I used Welty's in order to avoid the crowds at the Post Office during the Holiday season. MY MISTAKE! I paid twice as much as I would have paid at the Post Office....which I didn't mind....for Priority Mail. Guess what....4 days later, my package is in limbo.....they don't know where it is....the post office doesn't have it. When asking Jo Jo....who thinks he is a touch guy and great manager.... who is responsible for lost packages, he said, and I swear I am quoting him exactly (I have a witness) "Once it leaves our place, we have no responsibility for it" DON'T USE THEM!!!! Especially with that incompetent manager. I hope the owner reads these Yelp's, because he can feel free to contact me. I took in a package to be returned. The customer service clerk took my return label and said she would tape the box. I left thinking how easy that was. To my surprise, not all the items made it back to the company (NutraSystem) and I was not given full credit back, due to items missing. I am very disappointed to think the clerk would remove my items. What a horrible experience and I will make sure I tell as many people as I can what happened at that store. Weltys customer service goes far beyond what I would have ever imagined. I had the blessing of meeting Jojo who helped me print a flyer of my father who had been missing and use their online services. A few days later I received horrible news that my father had passed. Considering that I do not have a passport to bury my father outside of the country, I ran to Weltys to take passport pictures. Walking in to the store, Jojo had remembered me and asked about my father. At the time of pay, when I had my passport pictures, a folder, and a copy of my drivers lisc. the lady told me Jojo took care of it all. Not only did Jojo remember me and helped me, but he showed me a huge form of compassion that I will not forget. If you're reading this, thank you Jojo. I checked the USPS and eBay website they both had the same price of about $25.00 for postage on my package. I came to this place to have it shipped thinking that all post office "type" places would be in the same price range. That's when the guy at the counter asked for $49.00 to ship my package through USPS. I showed him the USPS website on my phone with the price of that same service at almost half the price he quoted me. It wasn't the clerks fault he was just quoting me what his system was showing him. I had to rent a computer from this place($3) to purchase my postage through USPS.com and print out the label in order to save $25. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking that they're not trying to rip people off by charging twice as much for postage. Staff is always nice.. that's a plus! read more

On September 11, 2015, I took a package into the store for shipment to Amazon. I had the label from amazon securely affixed to the package. I have never had any problems in the past at various mailing houses. Today is Sept. 21, and Amazon has still not received the package and I have not received a refund. I talked to a girl on duty there, and she said if you come in with a supplied label already attached they do not scan it, or make note of it, therefore it may not make it to it's final destination. I suggest if you have to use this business to ask for a receipt (not sure they give receipts), better yet take it to a UPS station. They did not have a box big enough, so they ordered one and got the computer out right away, soon as the box arrived. Clerk: uh I'm not sure....you'd have to bring it in. Me: yeah well, I'm asking if there's a markup from standard USPS shipping rates. Clerk: uhhh....I dunno. Probably. Me: ...uh, wow. Ok. Thanks. Clerk: Ok, thanks. This guy made no attempt to ask his boss or even burn a single calorie trying to help me. He couldn't have cared less. I've never received great service from this place, they seem to forget there are other options in town. First off the store had moved (within the same complex) - however upon arriving at the old store - it was difficult to ascertain from the signs on the window - where the heck the new location was. Thankfully a very sweet lady in the parking lot pointed out the new location for me. Back in my car - parked closer to actual store and went in! When heading toward the registers I observed two young girls (clerks) at the counter - carrying on a personal conversation - loudly. When it was my turn - I placed my item on the counter and said hello. I received an eye roll and was ignored. I made several attempts to engage in conversation but the clerk was simply rude. Neither made eye contact and continued with their conversation seemingly put out that they had to actually work. Several other customers were met with the same extremely rude and unprofessional behavior. These two events cost the 3 stars. The positives: nice large clean new store. Great selection of greeting cards. They offered many services as well. Will I be back? No way - I'd rather be in an old shop with excellent customer service. Zero stars is my opinion. This is not an dedicated FedEx pick up location so the time is not guaranteed. They could come early they don't tell you that! The gladly take your money and tell you afterwords when you could've still made it around the corner to Indian Wells and been guaranteed your delivery. Worst customer service nasty nasty nasty. Don't say I didn't warn you. If you are a local business professional I highly advise you to go to Indian wells where it is AUTHORIZED GUARANTEED Pick up time.! What is even funnier is the manager said I'll give you a discount towards this transaction or a future one and my packages still did not get out the next day! I will never, again, go to this postal service office. Marla, the notary, needs big help in the customer care department. On top of her obvious disdain for her position, waiting on customers and notary skills, this office charges $15 per signature. Per signature. Three different times she asked me, "Is there anything else?". Three times I had to show her more signature lines that had not been filled in. Her only reply was, "Well, it will cost you $15/signature". I foolishly decided to stay and pay the total cost of all the signatures needed. After spending $135 for my documents, it was an easy decision to write this review and seek Notary Service elsewhere. read more

DO NOT USE WELTY'S. They do not give receipts of FedEx express package, they over charge, and their attitude is very, very bad! My FedEx package was given to the clerk and it never got scanned by the FedEx pickup from their office. When I asked them about the missing FedEx package, she arrogantly said, that it was FedEx problem and turned away from me with an I don't care attitude. To begin with, I drop off packages at Welty's ALMOST every week because I order a lot. I walk in with my package all ready to go. They don't have to do a thing except put it in the outgoing bin for UPS or FedEx pickup. What I've noticed recently (meaning today was not the first time), is the people behind the counter don't seem to know that customer service means greeting the customer when they interact. Like, oh I don't know, how about "hi" or "good morning". Anything that resembles a verbal acknowledgement of my existence. I ALWAYS SAY HI when I go up to the counter. And since I know they aren't mute, I expect the same especially when I said something first. Someone says "hi" to you and you say nothing???!!!!! WTH! Today, I went in to drop off a package. I waited for her to finish with the customer she was working with to walk away. I said "hi" and "this is ready to go". She GRABBED it and threw it on the floor like "why are you bothering me". Real 'tude and no verbal from her. If I'm not mistaken, postal centers get a stipend for every package you take in to them, whether they package it or not, the carriers compensate them. So, if this is the new normal at Welty's, I'm happy to take my packages to the post office. God knows they need the business since they're constantly in the red. read more

Meant to post this earlier. Sent an e-mail to a couple of shipping centers about shipping several paintings, crystal, etc.to Nebraska; Welty's was first to respond. We dropped seven boxes (not ready for mailing) on Saturday afternoon. Was very pleased when the young women working there said it would be Monday before we could get estimate on shipping costs, but they would wrap paintings immediately (they were just in brown wrapping) so the paintings wouldn't get damaged. We checked in Monday regarding shipping information and received a call with costs by Wednesday. Very pleased with service. I had been very stressed about getting my "treasures" home and was happy not to have to drive them back. read more
