I was admittedly not the most prepared bride and Chef Ellen was always a step ahead of me. She offered advice on the amount of food I would need for my party size and gave me detailed lists of the items I would need to have on hand serve the food in the manner I wanted. She even accommodated our request to obtain farm fresh food from the farm hosting our Event and coordinated with the farm directly to organize everything. The logistical support she provided leading up the event was absolutely outstanding and exceeded my wildest expectations. I was floored at how often she went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. Now on to the the food and day of service. Her food was absolutely amazing. Given the small party size, the food was a main focal point of the event and I could not be happier with how it turned out. We had passed appetizers and a family style sit down dinner with two mains and a few sides. We loved the appetizers. I could eat the duck crostinis for every meal. The main course was just as special. Ellen made an amazing beef tenderloin with a delicious red wine sauce (def recommend). Also, don't miss an opportunity to have her special butter and bread - it was soo soo good. Ellen worked two servers who helped serve drinks and food and ensure everything went according to plan, meal wise. This was another important thing to me as I wanted the guests to not have to worry about how to get food and drinks or clean up after. The two servers on Ellen's team - Lisa and Jackie - were great. They anticipated our every need. They had waters waiting for us as we walked in from a hot outdoor ceremony, kept every glass full, and even helped move people from the cocktail hour to the dinner. At the end of the night, they picked up glass we left laying around and left a spotless kitchen. Ellen and her team were absolute professionals and I am so grateful that we had their help with our wedding. It would not have been the same without them.

She made amazing suggestions which helped everyone in the group to enjoy most everything on the menu with only a few limitations - but that was based on me choosing an item that was off limits to a vegetarian (for example) rather than Ellen's offerings. Our first event was heavy hors d'oeuvres and the second event was a buffet with appetizers outside and the dinner - salad, entrée, two sides and dessert - indoors. Ellen uses fresh, local ingredients in creative and yummy flavor combinations. Her staff was personable and professional. One thing to keep in mind is that you will need to provide your own alcohol. My husband and I were delighted with the planning process. We received multiple menu options that managed to balance picky eaters, food allergies, pregnant, and breastfeeding members of our party! In addition to a 7 day breakfast & dinner menu, we also put together a grocery list for snacks & lunch foods. The meals were over the top delicious. This is coming from 2 New Yorkers who are accustomed to fine dining and spend a lot of their time in the best restaurants around. Every meal was professional, cooked to perfection, and appealed to all. The desserts were fabulous and I'm not even much of a sweets eater. For the 4th of July we had a TON of food - we ate it for days and savored every bite. Despite the fact that the chefs were around us during our family vacation, their presence was never intrusive. We enjoyed the pool, playing games, watching TV, and chatting. They respected our time and space. To start, I reached out to Chef Bernard based on the Yelp reviews to see if he could prepare a romantic dinner for my husband and I on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. He was available and agreed to serve us. From the start, he was very professional and communicated well. He sent me sample menus with options galore. If there was something on the menu that I wanted mixed up a little, he had no objections. My husband is a very 'simple' eater so I wanted to know if the Chef could also prepare something 'simple' like Potato Au Gratin. Whew....he did and it was sooooooo good! He arrived at our home in what I call his mobile kitchen (because he had everything in it that one could imagine), introduced himself to us and got down to business. We had a few small plate items, entree and dessert. He talked to us while he prepared the meals and it simply felt like he was a friend. It did not feel weird or awkward having him in our kitchen at all. It was great! He gave us tips on cooking at he prepared meals and spoke to us more about who he was (in and out of the kitchen). Some of the items we enjoyed were: 1. Pork chimichangas 2. Cajun eggrolls 3. Peking duck rolls 4. Filet (cooked to order) 5. Potato au gratin 6. Broccoli w/cheese 7. Cheese blintzes wi/ a strawberry wine sauce 8. Crab cakes Everything was perfect! He served us well and we could not have asked for a better experience. I have had meal services with others before and this is by far the most skilled cooking of farm to table meals. I think it's a good value. One recent review I read was really not fair about "scam". That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I did that every time and I was patient because I want this good cooking to last to feed my family. Seems like great people. I've spoken to her and met the staff who deliver food to my house.
