The rooms have been renovated but the hallways look rundown or at least the 2nd floor was run down. I got a Queen bed and shared it and I'm not sure if it was a true Queen bed. It seemed like a Double bed but we slept fine. I could hear some noise from other rooms but it didn't bother me. The breakfast was meh average. They had French toast, sausage, powdered eggs, cereals, oatmeal, and etc. The OJ was good surprisingly. I liked its close proximity to Target and Kohls which is literally a 2 min walk and parallel to the hotel. I didn't like that peoples kids were tracking water from the pool with their bare feet to the elevator. They have a coin laundry which comes in handy to wash clothes! The lobby is small but functional. I'd stay there again!

General manager offered money off the bill but had no desire to resolve the situation. I will be making a complaint to corporate!

As Hilton members were used to some of the perks that come with diamond member status and we were still able to have those based on booking with our group block. That was a total plus! The lobby for big events like this is hopping with energy and people visiting the bar area or the breakfast area. The open air pool is super convenient for the teams who need to relax after a long day playing on the turf. The rooms are perfect for two people. Any more than that would have been cramped in the double beds but they were super cozy and comfortable. I thought the water smelled a little bit musty, but there was lots of counter space for all of the cosmetics and jewelry my daughter brings with her. We got new fresh towels everyday and our beds were made up nice and cozy for when we crashed after a long day. I had a mischarge on my bill that I noticed upon checking out and the woman at the reception desk was super helpful in getting that charge expunged from my bill. I also had bought ice cream for all of the team and the people behind the desk were nice enough to keep it for us in their freezer facility so we wouldn't have to waste it. I don't know if we'll ever be back at this hotel, but for the time being and the four nights we stayed here it was perfect.

Although there were a lot of people, the tickets were sold in waves so it didn't feel too crowded. Restrooms were kept clean, hotel staff were on site to make sure all was going smoothly, and the event organizers and team did a good job to keep people safe. I really appreciate the golf cart that took us to and from the furthest car parks right up to the event site.

When arriving, check in first before unloading all your luggage in case you're assigned a room in this separate building and have to drive around. Parking is nearby. I had a king room. There was an apartment size fridge with a small freezer, and microwave. Coffee marker, coffee and teabags were in the room. Floor had been updated to wood laminate. One side of my room had a brick wall, another had stone. Window looked out onto the pool. Bathroom amenities included bar soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. There were 3 each of hand towels, washcloths and bath towels. Water pressure in the shower was pretty strong but the toilet was sluggish. The only outlet in the bathroom, where I could use the blow dryer, didn't work. Reported it to the front desk but they hadn't fixed it by the time I checked out. My room was right next to the building entrance as well as just around the corner from the ice maker. You have to swipe your room key to get into the building so whenever someone swiped to open the outside door, it sounded like it was MY door that was being swiped and someone was about to walk in. I didn't feel very safe in my room. Walls are thin so I heard conversations in the hallways. I heard the ice maker being used quite a lot in the morning (not at night tho). Otherwise, my stay was relatively quiet. I was lucky that I didn't share a wall with any neighbors so all I got was door and hallway noise and the ice maker when it was used. Bed was as firm and comfortable for me. Room temp had been set at 69F when I arrived and I never changed it. AC noise didn't keep me up. Breakfast was a buffet and free. It's located in the main building so I had to walk outside to get to it. Not a big deal unless the weather isn't ideal. Breakfast had basic hot and cold options (scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereals, fruit, yogurt, pastries and bread, coffee) except I never saw juices of any kind. The hotel is set off from the main road at the end of a street and not easy to find. One landmark to look for is Seoul Restaurant. The hotel is at the end of the side street that runs next to this restaurant. The only hotel staff I interacted with were at the front desk when checking in and out. Both were professional and really helpful. Some older reviews mentioned a smell in the hallways and I didn't notice anything like that. I do think the hallway carpet needs to be upgraded as it's dark and dated. Overall, my short stay was fairly comfortable. My room was fine, I slept well, I really liked having a fridge and microwave in my room, breakfast was free and the staff were helpful. I didn't like the location of my room which was next to the building entrance. I'm an older woman traveling alone and I didn't feel quite safe in my room where I could hear the outside door opening and closing constantly. I would've asked for a different room if the hotel hadn't been completely booked. I'd stay here again, just in a different room.

Horrible experience here!…read more Air conditioner didn't work properly. We were told it was "switched out ". Still ran 24/7 without cooling off the room. Came back to the room today at 10:15pm after being gone since 9:30am this morning. The door to our room was OPEN. We have no idea how long it was open or who may have gone into our room since 9:30 when we left. Huge safety issue. I certainly hope that you will ensure guests feel SAFE and comfortable at Best Western Governors Inn Midlothian moving forward. We will not recommend this hotel nor will we stay here again. The air conditioning was one thing, but to come back from being gone all day and the door to our room was open is another level of poor management. Perhaps housekeeping should make sure the rooms are secure before taking their smoke breaks.

The parking lot was bright. It was easy to see at night. The lobby looked decent: I was not looking for a 5 star hotel - nothing extraordinary. The last time I stayed at a Wyndham hotel, the hotel was clean and nice. The breakfast included yogurt, fresh fruit, waffles, coffee, cream cheese. The tables were bussed, except for one. Upon entering the room, the bathroom was worn but it looked ok. Someone had dropped change on the floor in the bathroom ‍it wasn't swept up. The towels looked clean. I booked a double Queen because it was all they had left: I had initially requested a single room, but that room was in a sketchy neighborhood. I noticed the smell of cigarettes and weed in the hallway: not overwhelming, but it was noticeable. I was in a non- smoking room..but it smelled stale. The linens looked clean, I noticed that the linens had small burn holes in them?? I awakened the next morning, itching intensely. I had been bitten in the nigh bu God knows what type insect. I had a checkin on the evening of the 13th and was supposed to stay until the 15th. I couldn't stay. I left room 112, in the early evening of the 14th. I am so completely upset at paying for the privilege of risking my health. I'm from out of town and a visit to the doctor will cost $100, just to go to the ER. I'm trying to treat the bites with OTC Hydrocortisone cream and Benadryl. The welts are very sore and angry. I cannot recommend this hotel. I am awaiting s call from the owner, Ashvin Patel and from the corporate offices of Wyndham. I want both a refund and to be checked out by s doctor. If you have bedbugs, you shouldn't rent those rooms and expose people to disease. I'm really upset. I have welts all over my body. Today is 11/18/22.
