I'm a fan of Wendy's, but not this location! The chili was inedible! Their markee was advertising $19/hr last year, this year it's $16.50 starting. Their employees English is really bad! This is the 3rd time I've been to Wendy's to get their Taco Salad, which, if you can get it, is pretty darn good. Chips, Chili AND a salad. A good amount of food for the money. However, yet again, when i go, I'm told "we are all out of salads" This being the 3rd time it's happened tells me one thing - they're not ordering enough salads in. If the salads are so popular - order more!?! It seems simple to me. The Taco Salad is vastly superior to the lukewarm Dave's Single Burger i had, accompanied by fresh, very hot and crispy fries. Ok we went here last night because it was the only thing right by us that was open. Staying in Anchorage by airport for the night before our cruise tomorrow. This place had a ton of mixed reviews. Decided to try it out of convenience. We ordered their 4 for $6 dollars. This included a Jr. Cheeseburger, 4 Chicken Nuggets, Jr. Fries and a drink or small Frosty. Actually our food was pretty good and pretty put together based on some of the reviews. Maybe we got lucky but it wasn't bad. The restaurant could use some napkins (since they had a roll of paper towels on the counter if you needed a napkin). Also their floor could use a mopping since it seemed slick. I did have a nice young kid that took my order. He seemed surprised that I used words like Please and Thank you. It caught him off guard. read more

First a disclaimer: I am not an authority on fast food, not at all. I have no idea which is the "good" McDonald's location and which is the "bad" one. My experience with fast food is: I don't think it's gross or immoral or morally wrong. None of that. I just usually don't enjoy eating it all that much. But sometimes, I need food and I need it FAST. The fast food I eat the most, in fact, is McDonald's at like 5:30am. It's the perfect pre-climb meal when no one else is open. It's filling, calorie-packed, and cheap. Wendy's though? I honestly don't know when the last time I've been to Wendy's. I may have been in my teens? I've definitely never been to Wendy's since moving to Alaska. I went to this one because I've been working 6-day weeks with 30 min lunches as opposed to my usual 5-day weeks with 1 hour lunches. By the time I got the snow off my car, I had about 15 minutes to get something to eat and wolf it down. And, for that, Wendy's delivered! I was second in line. As soon as I got to the window my food was ready. I handed the girl my card and she gave it back in less than a minute and sent me on my way! I inhaled the spicy chicken sandwich and small fries (didn't get a combo, not into soft drinks) on the drive to work and they were pretty good! Definitely a cut above McDonald's! The fries were particularly good. I like Wendy's fries better than most local restaraunts in town. They all seemed to have switched to battered fries which...are just too opulent and rich for my taste. I can only eat like...4 of them before I feel like I'm going to be sick. These fries were not like that. They were crispy but also potatoey. I could've probably a couple pounds of them! The spicy chicken sandwich was OK. I would've like it to be more spicy. As much as I hate their politics, Chick-Fil-A still does the best chicken sandwiches. I hope someone is able to clone one someday! read more

I stopped for a friend who wanted a Wendy's chicken sandwich. I ordered a spicy ghost pepper ranch chicken sandwich and a glass of water. My sandwich was $8.49 and my cup for water was $3.19! I double-checked that they really require that I pay for water and was told that yes, water costs the same as soda pop. My friend ordered her chicken sandwich without lettuce (and it was indicated this on the receipt) but the nonetheless made her sandwich with lettuce. In other news, the heat level on the ghost pepper chicken was pleasant and the sandwich was generally tasty. read more

Really strange experience tonight at this Wendy's. It took forever for someone to take my order at the drive thru. I only ordered one meal. When I pulled up to pay, I had to wait a few extra minutes for them to give me my order. I saw three men working, and they weren't busy at all. I wasn't given any napkins, ketchup nor a receipt. I had to knock on the glass and ask for all three items. My fries were cold and apparently they were completely out of ketchup. read more

I'm not sure if this is funny or sad. But I pulled into their parking lot on a Monday evening 6 minutes before they closed. As I was pulling into the parking lot I saw someone inside jog to the front door to lock it. As I walked to the door 20-30 seconds later he said through the door that they were closed. Horrible service. First we were informed that they were completely out of meat except for chicken. So we ordered chicken sandwiches. When we pulled up to receive our order, the cashier barely extended her arm and as a result the bag of food fell on the ground. The manager on duty tonight deserves a raise, a bozo button, some stock options, and a cold glass of beer at the end of his shift. That dude was doing yeoman's work tonight holding that shit together with duct tape, bubble gum, and a good natured smile. This is the slowest "fast" food service I've experienced. Everyone is moving like there is no purpose or just standing around staring at the customers. Although this Wendy's seem to get bad reviews, I never had a problem or bad experience with this place. The location is NOT in the best part of town, but the food is always hot and the person taking orders at the counter is always pleasant. For example last week, we ordered 2 double with cheese combo and 2 chicken sandwich combo with all NATural lemonade. The food took 15 minutes and the guy at the counter was apologetic and offered free frosties for all for the inconvenience. I will keep supporting my neighborhood Wendy's. read more

Placed a very simple order (Jr Cheeseburger and fries). She first tried to charge me for a single, and when I corrected it to a Jr, she didn't make the changes for what I wanted on it. Shouldn't be that hard to get right, and what made it worse is I had to wait for several minutes for fries. The gal @ the window said they'd be fresh. It has to be so bad I get sick to get a 1 star so later tonight I may downgrade my generous 2 star rating here. To start with I'm approached by a couple drug dealers or users before I even get in to the place. When I got inside the clientele didn't look much different. I should have just left then. But I ordered a old fashion Chicken sandwich and the gal behind the counter taking my order said "Okay a #8" and I had to correct her since what I wanted was a #7. The #8 wasn't even chicken. She was very difficult to understand since she was slurring her words (visions of the guys outside came in to my head), so I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. Finally I got my food and it came out very fast. It was very much no frills as the sandwich had bread with a deep fat fried slab of chicken on it. A touch or may, a white piece of lettuce and one slice of tomato so thin I could not even taste it. I've gone through the drive through twice in the last week and both times the person in the drive through had their mask under their nose or under their chin. weren't wearing gloves or sanitizing hands. Today I watched as the woman working the window took my money in her bare hands, touched her bare face and wiped her nose on her arm, adjusted her mask to be under her chin. hand my my money back.
