What another incredible experience from start to finish! This place absolutely exceeded my expectations once again! The pizza was hands down one of the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked with fresh, high-quality ingredients and amazing flavor in every bite. You can really tell they take pride in what they serve. The beer selection was just as impressive, with plenty of great options that paired perfectly with the pizza. Whether you're a craft beer lover or just looking to enjoy a cold drink with your meal, you won't be disappointed. What really made this visit special was the customer service. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to make sure we had a great experience. It's rare to find service this outstanding these days. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and inviting--perfect for a casual dinner with friends or family. As a bonus, they even have a fun little souvenir corner where you can pick up shirts, hats, stickers, and other keepsakes to remember your visit. This is much more than just a pizza place--it's an experience. Amazing food, fantastic beer, outstanding customer service, and a great environment. I can't wait to come back, and I'll definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know!
We were told by a Massachusetts friend to try this spot, so we were excited and ready for a great meal. Unfortunately, we ran into a few issues during our visit. The wait was fairly long, but honestly, we didn't mind that part. Upon being seated, however, we immediately noticed that the table was incredibly small. I was trying to balance my bag and camera on what felt like a toothpick sized doll table! But seriously, we travel a lot, and I've never had to sit at such a tiny table. It made the experience feel very cramped and uncomfortable. Our waitress also seemed to disappear for long stretches. The soda pitcher had no ice, and there wasn't any ice in our glasses either, which felt like the bare minimum when you're paying for expensive nonalcoholic drinks. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer, and they weren't bad, pretty standard. For our main course, we had a gluten free pizza. It was good, but nothing particularly special. I also wish they had been a little more generous with the chicken toppings. Overall, I can't really recommend dining in here. Maybe it was just an off night, but when we're having a night out, we don't want to feel like we're sitting at a kids' table in the middle of the room. If you want to give this place a try, I'd recommend ordering your pizza to go instead.
Simply the best pizza in Anchorage. Highly recommend ordering larger pies and splitting 1/2-1/2 toppings if you're a group of folks who want different things. My go to is the Jalapeño Business / veggie delight. This place is busy no matter what time and day you come, so prepare to wait if you hit peak hours. But on the upside - the beers are great too and fast to arrive, so you won't be thirsty while waiting. Noise level is usually low for being so busy, but it may depend on where you end up getting seated. Nice airy feel to the place, decorated in a style that I guess can only be described as...Alaskan? And yes, even if you stay downtown the drive over here is worth it.
Definitely worth the hype! Friendly fast service, delicious food and drinks, and reasonably priced! The Berry Me In The Sunshine Cocktail and classic Margarita were both refreshing. The Mozzarella Bread Sticks were amazing and generously portioned. The Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding was the perfect end to a dinner as it was served warm with the right amount of sweetness. We loved how extensive their pizza menu was and thought The Napoleon was the best but honestly can't go wrong with any of them as their crust was perfect and not greasy at all. Only thing I will say to keep in mind is the parking, as it can get pretty full with how busy they get!
Let me start out by saying I usually Like Moose's Tooth. It's typically good and somewhere I tell people they should try while in Anchorage. After this experience I'm done recommending it. They really missed the mark. For starters we got my husband's usual Chipotle steak pizza. Right off the bat I notice it's a weird oval kind of shape. It's not a circle and the pieces don't add up. I'm positive that the someone in the kitchen sliced out the middle the pizza and put it in the box like it wouldn't be noticed. Worst of all. I ordered a pound of their Korean style wings. I usually love these. I thought initially that these are so tiny it's a good thing it's by the weight, not quantity. Well. These were not fit for consumption. I managed to eat two wings that were on the crunchy side. The rest were unfit for consumption. We're talking chicken wing jerky. A bite cracks right through the bone, crunchy marrow, dry translucent meat. What a disappointment. This wouldn't even be something you could feed a dog. So bad. This experience was the worst I've had with Moose's Tooth. It was so disappointing and also weird. Do better.
Waitress was super friendly and helpful, gave good recommendations and was honest about what she hadn't tried :). The place was nicely lit and full of conversation, lots of interesting things to look at. The desserts were both amazing!! The Napoleon was great, very fresh tasting. The cowboy was also super good, that one is seasonal though. The solstice was kind of too much mushroom for me. The Santa's little helper was also alright, I'd rank it 3rd best :)
They weren't joking. Best pizza or at least top ten pizza places EVER. Very pizza parlor vibe with an alternative twist. Upbeat, clean and high energy. Staff is quick, courteous and effective. Service isn't stuffy and it isn't lacking. You get what you need and they care about that but they aren't kissing your butt through the experience. Just what you would expect and want from a pizza joint. Food - delicious. ALL IF IT. The appetizers, the salads and the pizza. We will definitely stop here any time we want pizza and are in the Anchorage area. Just fabulous. Extra points for the charitable work it seems they participate in. (Posters for events - both profit & non profits- are hung throughout the store).
Great time at Moose Tooth. We stopped in early and had no wait. The vibe is pure Alaska, great spot to bring visiting family:) Our server was super friendly and guided us through the drink selection. Best draft root beer ever! Had the carnivore pizza which was great. Love the crust, and the toppings were plentiful and really tasty.
This review is for takeout only, and updating my previous 3 star review. We ordered buffalo chicken salad, spicy breadsticks, and carnivore pizza. The buffalo chicken salad (large) was no joke, big enough for 2+ people with leftovers. It included a massive portion of chicken with the salad, and tasted great. The small would actually be an ambitious meal for one person. The breadsticks were very tasty as well, obviously not needed with the large portion of the meals. I wasn't impressed with the carnivore pizza, however. It was on the bland side, but my kiddo sure enjoyed it. Side note: was supposed to receive a text when the food was ready, and it never came even though they had my correct number, so don't wait for a notification to grab your food!

Great pizza, interesting and unique flavor combinations. Service is a little slow but that's because this place is always slammed with orders. My wife and I waited about 20 minutes for a table and then waited about 30 minutes for our order to arrive. We shared a half Call of the Wild and half Amazing Apricot Pizza. Both good, would get them again. Between the two, I liked the Amazing Apricot more. If I were to come back, I'd probably order take out about 30 to 45 minutes before I wanted to eat so that it was ready when I want to eat. read more

I wasn't sure if this spot would live up to the hype, but I really enjoyed it. Since there was an hour long wait for takeout and a 30 minute wait for a table (around 2 on a Sunday), my husband and I decided to dine in. Be prepared that it still takes a while to get your food after you order. We shared a large pizza that was half Call of the Wild and half Amazing Apricot Pizza. There is an upcharge to do half and half which is a little annoying, but I'm glad they let you do it so that you can try more. The Amazing Apricot was my favorite. It was an interesting combination of flavors. Despite the name, it wasn't overly sweet and the chicken was delicious. The Call of the Wild was also good, but I wanted it to be a little saucier. We were both happy that we had enough for leftovers the next day. Next time, I'd probably coordinate a takeout order to be ready when I want it to cut down on the wait. They have so many unique pizzas that I think this is a must try while in Anchorage. read more
Ok, so... it had been a long enough time since the last time we had been here that my husband and I had forgotten that we had vowed never to return. Additionally, it seems the owners have followed my advice and opened an additional location across town called Eye Tooth to help address some of the customer volume. We had company from out of town and were excited to share this Anchorage gem with them. I remember when I moved here 15 years ago and was introduced to this magical pizza by the doctors I work with. On busy days they would order a crap load of variety from Mooses Tooth and shower the staff with a buffet of amazing options. The range of variety is wild, and the execution was wonderful. But over the years the quality and reliability of the pizza has declined significantly. And once again, on our most recent visit we were disappointed. We were seated more promptly that unusual, and the food came faster than in recent years. But the execution was lacking. Our apricot pizza was 100% missing the apricot jam. Ive had this pizza countless times. It was totally missing. It was dry as the dessert. Tf? And the Thai pizza, while the pb wasn't missing, it was skimpy as heck. Also pretty darn dry. My husband's weirdo meat pizza with mushrooms was fine, but he just didnt like it, as I expected. If he had gotten the carnivore as I suggested, he at least would have been happy. Oh well. The only thing the family liked was their dessert except for me. I got one of their monthly specials and it was an abomination - looked fine, tasted atrocious. Chefs, please remember to taste what your making. FFS. I'm out and done with this place. Bear Tooth has my loyalty now solely bc of the odd little Theater, which is truly a gem. Good We had about a 45 min wait for a party of 2, in July so not too bad but it was packed Waiter was nice and friendly !! The hostesses did not seem happy at all :/ Food was pretty good! read more

If you get here before 5:00, you're guaranteed a table pretty quickly. After 5, expect a wait. We got here around 4:45 and got seated immediately, our server was cool & brought everything to our table quickly. We got our pizza half and half and couldn't really tell the difference between the two, but it was good nonetheless. The environment is cute and cozy, and lighting doesn't fry your brain. When something lives up to the hype, you just have to give it its props. We arrived hungry, waited 40 minutes for a table, and the pizza did not disappoint. Perfect crust...not too thin, not too thick, just light and airy but firm enough to hold the fresh ingredients. You can hold the slice without it bending. Enough fat and grease for taste but no oil dripping all over the place. Just a perfect slice of pizza. The chicken ranch was incredible and different from other versions I've had; the ranch sauce did not overpower the rest of the ingredients. All the ingredients played together well. I ate all of it. My wife's half of the mushroom pizza was 90% consumed and she's only 95 pounds. I've never seen her eat more than one slice of pizza, until tonight. Just really delicious pizza. We get it now. Wish we didn't live all the way in Minnesota. read more

Five stars all the way!! Today marks my first morning waking up in Alaska and this place is so beautiful in the Winter season OMG! Along with waking up in subarctic temperatures, I stopped by Mooses for lunch and met Julia who took such good care of me and was an absolute sweetheart! She recommended that I get the All American bc that's just who I am, and so I ordered a small All American personal pie with a chili soup -- all for under $30 and no sales tax. Gotta love Alaska and most importantly, the phenomenal pizza they serve at Mooses. Do not sleep on this place especially if you are visiting. read more

A beautiful awesome evening amazing people of the world. Tonight we are in Anchorage, Alaska at the Moose's Tooth for some late night grub out. My buddy highly recommended this joint so Lets get to the food shall we. Diablo Bread Sticks - Bread is nice and soft. The light crunchy crust is pleasant. Cheese is good and the sauce is everything. Its also properly spicy 7.9/10 Spicy Thai Chicken - carrots and bean sprouts is very nice. It reminds of me of what CPK used to be. The best part is the crust. It had perfect texture and and an over all score of 8/10 Listen, if you ever make it to Anchorage, Alaska do give this spot a proper go at it and let me know what you think. Went here 7 years ago on a trip with my parents. We were looking for something to eat and drink and found this place on a whim. Didn't realize it was such a local gem. The pizzas are some of the best I've had, and the beers on tap will wet anyone's whistle. Been dreaming about it since then, and I finally got to come back this summer. Still just as good as I remembered it. Would highly recommend for anyone who is craving some beer and some pizza. read more
Moose's Tooth has some of the best pizza and best brews. We ate here once on vacation 7 years ago and still think about them. So when we came back to Alaska on vacation, this was literally our first stop after leaving the airport. Pizza was just as delicious as we remembered - got their Call of the Wild. Packed with toppings, so cheesy, and so delicious. We ordered a large just so we could have leftovers for dinner later. Love their beers. Good variety as well. Service was great. Efficient and friendly. Hands down, still some of the best pizza. Highly recommend. read more
We were lucky during our visit to Moose's Tooth. Our wait for a table was a reasonable 30 minutes. With so many pizza choices it was hard decision to make. I ended up getting a small chipotle steak pizza. A small size was the perfect for me with a slice left over for a midnight snack. There are lots of flavors in my mouth with the chipotle sauce, zesty sour cream and lime. Service was ok given how busy they were. read more
This place was amazing ! All around service and a great atmosphere to be in, especially when it's snowing outside. It's quite loud in here so if you're expecting an intimate spot, this ain't it, at least at the section we were at, but we didn't mind one bit. We had our pizzas small and thin crust (no extra charge) because we wanted to try as many pizzas as we could before we leave town. The Forager was filled with veggies and I love mushrooms on my pizza. The goat cheese was a great contrast to the rest of the pizza, it didn't overpower the other toppings, I think it complimented everything nicely. The crust was phenomenal! I love a crunchy crust, we devoured this pizza easily. The Call of the Wild was also delicious ! I enjoyed all the thinly sliced red peppers that were scattered across the pizza. It didn't taste salty despite having all the meats as toppings. I recommend this pizza if you're a medium carnivore while also getting your veggies in. The highlight of this pizza was the crust, out of all three pizzas, this had the best crunch. The Garlic Lovers pizza was PHENOMENAL! They had roasted garlic cloves scattered across the entire pizza and my goodness the flavor was fantastic. The pizza was savory with generous amounts of garlic, they didn't wave garlic over the pizza like other places, they weren't stingy with it. We appreciated that! If you're a garlic lover, GET THIS PIZZA! We thought this pizza was the best out of the three we tried. We finished the night off with Moose Pie and I didn't expect the pie to literally be coffee ice cream. I was bamboozled when my fork wasn't going through the pie, that's when I realized it was ice cream. We had to wait a few minutes before the ice cream soften a bit. Hahaha still it was very good and sweet. You can share this between 3 people easily. Overall, I highly recommend coming here for good food and great vibes. The Moose's tooth has excellent. Fresh, hot, tasty, quality ingredients. Which is a good thing, because you certainly pay a price for it. It's Amchorage, so everything is expensive, but I've always left feeling that while I had a really nice meal, I didn't get a lot of value. They're known for their pizza, but their salads are excellent, and the cheesy bread sticks are a must try. The service isn't anything to get excited about. The servers are polite and friendly, but rather slow. There aren't a tremendous amount of choices in Midtown. You can do a lot worse than The Moose's Tooth. read more

Cooper, our bartender, was amazing. When I mentioned that the last time I tried cider I got sick, he immediately stepped in with suggestions and even brought us a couple of seltzer samples to try. Thanks to him, we found two we loved: raspberry cosmic crush and fruit punch. We also had the smoked salmon spread, which was absolutely delicious along with capers on the side. The half Apricot, half Call of the Wild pizza was incredible. The manager kindly let us know they were having issues with the oven and offered to comp the pizza, but honestly there was no way we were letting them do that .....it was that good. The ambience was great, the staff was friendly and attentive, and everyone continuously checked in to make sure we were doing well. The decor of the place gives it such a charming atmosphere, and by the end of the night we were happily enjoying cider flights and soaking it all in. We came here based on a recommendation from a friend in Alaska, and now I highly, highly recommend it too. If you're lucky enough to grab a seat at the bar and have Cooper taking care of you, you won't regret it. read more
This was my last day of a long business trip, and had a craving for pizza, this was the perfect place, it was a wait to get in but well worth it. Very vibrant and upbeat atmosphere with a mix of regulars and tourists, and perfect for large groups. The service was amazingly fast as busy as it was. The medium firehouse with bacon and jalapeños, chili flakes was great, but the all American was excellent peppers mushrooms red onions pepperoni just yum. Both had nice crispy crust with light pillowy edges. For pizza this is a must try when in Alaska read more

Our Chat GPT itinerary told us to stop here first thing when we landed in anchorage - and that we did!! He had the reindeer pizza and I had the apricot pizza - both were FANTASTIC! They had a great selection of beers and ciders and very friendly staff! Honestly some of the best pizza we have ever had. It in an unassuming area but the inside was packed and lovely! We will be back if we ever come back to Alaska! Highly recommend! read more

I would skip this place if you don't want to try the reindeer sausage! I'm a pescatarian but ended up here because my friend wanted to give it a shot after our Anchorage local Uber driver recommended it. It was really hyped up, but if you're from a major city with a lot of pizza options I'm not sure it would be that different. Something out driver said is that they have really creative toppings, but the example he gave was artichoke hearts and he said "where else are you going to find something like artichoke hearts on pizza?" As someone who is from a major city, I've definitely have had artichoke hearts on pizza before. I was surprised they didn't have any seafood on the pizzas--I've seen shrimp and clams on pizzas before, so they still have some room to expand! The service here was great though and our server was very friendly. I didn't catch his name but I asked if he was from Alaska and he told me he was from Nome! The hostess also estimated a 40 minute wait for a table for us on a holiday for dinner (July 4th) when we got there around 6pm, which was pretty accurate. They have a nice patio and I didn't mind the wait at all. We got the salmon spread as an appetizer which was fine. The amount of salmon was generous. We got a medium size pizza half call of the wild and half forager. My friend enjoyed the call of the wild half and did feel like it was very Alaskan because of the reindeer sausage (though our Uber driver warned it probably was only a little bit reindeer and mostly filler). The forager pizza was fine--cheese and mushrooms, so nothing too special there. read more
Haven't tried much else here besides the pizza lately. Pizza is just ok because it's kind of dry, and the toppings don't seem (not sure what word I'm looking for here) ...succulent? Not quite old, but just kind of lifeless and non exciting especially to the eye. On the other hand, their salads are better, and really crunchy, crave-able & fresh. The ranch is made in house and is pretty good too, it's actually just a touch spicy curiously. Like all Tooth's, Moose's carry their own brewed beer on draft. They have a large selection and there's something for everyone. Theres also a decent root beer they brew themselves also (and cream soda). We especially like the buffalo chicken salad with bleu cheese and the cheddar ranch salad. Servers are always *really* friendly, which is a highlight. There's often a lot of fuss and wait to get in at this restaurant (and parking is often difficult), so I am not sure the pizza is worth it anymore. It was a busy Monday night, but I luckily found bar seating so didn't wait too long. Ordered the Polar Pale which, as someone who loves ales and Pilsners, was really good. Bar service was great: very quick, attentive to the throngs of people, and friendly. I ordered a small half and half pizza of the Apricot and the Napoleon. They burned it initially but compensated for it and made me a new one, and boy was it worth the wait. The dough tasted great and really made the pizza. The toppings and cheese were fresh and the ingredients all worked together well. I'll be dreaming about this pizza... overall highly recommend! read more

Is there a full bar? I don't drink beer. Also are there only IPAs on the menu?
They do not serve liquor, but they do serve wine in addition to about 20 beers on tap. There are a wide variety of beers other then IPA's.
Are they open during winter?
They are! You can have Moose's Tooth pizza year round
Can you make reservations?
No. Also when you show up with a larger party they will not seat you until 1/2 the party is there. Great place and worth the wait. Waiting can be 2+ hours but it was also rated 3rd best pizza in the USA.
