I wanted to get myself a Frosty as a late birthday treat to myself (though I don't think of it as late. Since I move a bit slower than I used to, I take a few days to celebrate these days). I noticed that out of the last 10 reviews here, 8 of them were 1-star reviews. I imagine that scares off some people, but my first thought was, "They can't be that bad. Let's go see. So we went in to order a meal. Now if all you care about is fast service, perhaps you would also give the lowest rating. We were several minutes getting our order even taken, and another wait for the food. But not so fast. There was one woman handling the front counter customers, as well as bagging up online orders and, for all we knew, helping with drive-through orders as well. I wouldn't be shocked if she made a mistake or was short with us, but she didn't and she wasn't. She greeted everyone and said she would help in a few minutes. She was polite and our order was correct and as tasty as you'd expect for fast food. My very first job was fast food, so I appreciate someone who tries and who doesn't get flustered. So if it takes you five minutes to order and the server in front of you is Amanda, try to cut her some slack. That's all I'm saying. Three stars. read more

Mid day visit. I typically do not write reviews as everyone has an off day. However, this restaurant, who did have a welcoming staff, was a real failure in cleanliness. I give it a score of F, maybe F-. It smelled like wet dog, the lobby soda machine looked like a bad event happened in a public rest room. There were several staff members enjoying themselves and having fun (always nice) in the back, but some of them needed to do some cleaning. There was more food on the floor behind the scenes then what was going out the door. Everything that was visible, was not acceptable. It is difficult to believe this passes any kind of inspection. I did not dare take a photo, and this was my first visit inside, I have always used the drive-up. I will not return. BTW, the food was over cooked and dry, I assume lunch left overs? read more

Had a bad experience a few months ago at breakfast, thought I would try in the afternoon and "new" building. One of worst experiences in a long time. 20 minute wait for a coffee for my 85- year old mother. Walk not shoveled by ramp for walkers. Ordered Cinnabon and it was gross/stale. Staff kind of rude about the coffee. ADA and food/service fail. You can update" the decor but not worth it if experience horrible. Table of "new" decor was shaky and nearly made my mother fall over. Went inside to order, as the drive-thru line was long. It was very dirty inside. One employee was crying and complaining to another employee who was holding up an open burger in her hand yelling out, "Is this plain?! Is this plain!" Meanwhile, we stood there 10 minutes for an employee to finish organizing trays, while not acknowledging the customers, before she would take an order. What's worse, there was a tip box! Went there for lunch recently. Should of just gone home to eat. Took about 10 mins to order because girl taking orders was also running around trying to maintain the fryer with all the different items. This while there were a line of people behind us that kept getting longer. Ordered a burger with added bacon. When we got to the table there was no bacon. Returned to counter for order to be corrected. Instead of giving us a corrected sandwich my husband was handed a plastic dish with 2 pieces of bacon and told to just add this to the sandwich. We have stopped at this Wendy's many times and it's still the worst service. A few times we have walked out because no one will take our orders. The owners put all that money into the remodel but I guess they forgot about staff training. read more

Stopped in for a bite to eat, the lady at the window clearly dislikes her job, she was rude!!!! I go there and there is usually a guy manager who's running around trying to do it all apologizing because of the wait etc. I think a bit of customer service training to the older woman at the window would benefit the company greatly!!! This is so sad. This will be the first and last time I eat at this restaurant. If I order a damn chicken sandwich I expect the chicken. I guess I have to tell them to put the chicken on the sandwich. My wife and I decided to try the Wendy's on western avenue in Augusta, ME. for the third time in two years. We entered the store and no one was in there or in line. We got excited to be the first to order since we were hungry and had little time to waste. Good reason to get fast food, right? The employees were acting confused and standing around while one employee was bagging food for drive thru or pre-ordered for pickup. We waited 10 minutes for someone to take our order and now people were coming in and lining up behind us. We were told that someone would be with us in a minute. We waited five more minutes watching employees not helping the one employee who was working and still didn't get any service. This is the third time this happened to us in this facility. Three strikes you're out!!! We left and drove down the road to Burger King. BK had a full house and still were able to provide us service quickly enough for us to order, purchase, and eat in 20 minutes. No wonder this store is empty and the BK & McD's were busy! read more

You can see mold in top of the lemonade lid cover so dirty and had big chucks of slim floating in my green tea really needs a good washing or new dishwasher if they even get washed or maybe they just rinse them out quick I don't know def needs more sanitation saw workers handling frozen food for the fryer without gloves or washing hands. I went in very excited to enjoy my Wendy's experience like normal. I ordered my meal and it was quickly given to me. I was dining with my mom. I ordered the $5 bag. Yum usually. So I went to sit down and there were several, I counted atleast 8 tables that were empty and dirty. I went to the least dirty table and sat down. After having to wash the table myself, I sat down and mom brought my food. I opened all the packages and began to eat. I took a bite of the Luke warm fries and they were stale. It tasted as if they had been there all day and had been re heated. I then went on to take a bite if my bacon cheese burger. And noticed a weird smell and taste. I asked my mom to smell it as well and both smelled the distinctive smell of rot. I walked up to the register and politely asked the person to smell my burger. I no it's weird but I was serious. I can smell when things go bad and I assumed others could as well. I let him no I was serious. And he smelled it and went on politely to tell me he smelled nothing bad. Even called me Mam. I was like I'm sorry but it smells and tastes like it's gone bad. He offered to make another. And I was like ok we can try. Then as I was waiting, less than a minute... I was thinking that if the ingredients have gone bad remaking the sandwich with the same stuff will produce the same end result. I recieved the second burger. Took a bite and sure enough it was the same. Oh boy. So I was like ok I'm done. Mom finished her meal, and went to get frostys . She told them again that I had thought maybe it was the mustard that had gone bad. They said they changed it out. I hope this is true. They did offer to remake the sandwich a 3rd time but I already had 2 bites and didnt think I could handle a 3rd. So through out my time there. I watched employees bring in food from others restaurants, I witnessed inappropriate conversation between the front of the house and the back. I may not be a church person but the elderly couple that were dining a few seats away sure were and were disgusted at the disrespectful Jesus Christ's that were been shouted. The conversations about out of work places and situations should never be heard in the dining room. And in the hour we were there not one person came out to clean the tables or floors in the dining room. I had the need to use ur bathroom before I left and it smelled when I walked in and there was trash on the floor and it just looked and was dirty. So needless to say. I love Wendy's and always will. However i will never set foot in the Augusta Maine branch again. And I'm kinda hoping i wont end up with food poisoning as a result. Thanks read more

I stupidly went through the drive up yesterday for a quick burger. First of all, this is during covid-19 and the food handlers were not wearing masks! That should have been my warning, but I was hungry and in a hurry. The cheeseburger was tiny, shriveled, dry and tasted old. The fries tasted like rancid oil. Never will I go there again.
