Ok good is great. Every time I go I get the chicken fried chicken with country gravy and I've never been wronged. It's clearly a very popular place as our wait time is almost always upwards of 35mins. But! It's always freezing cold in here, the booths aren't quite big enough for a larger person. And only once of the last three times we went, were we offered peanuts! Sheesh. That's one of my favorite parts. I'm staying at a nearby hotel and put in a to go order for pick up. I didn't have high expectations for a Salmon Caesar Salad from Texas Roadhouse, but I did expect it to at least come with parmesan and croutons. The salmon was a little dry and lettuce was also kinda sad and starting to brown. The dressing was good, they gave me a giant bag of rolls and sweet butter, and I was happy to actually get silverware and a straw which are commonly forgotten on to go orders at many places. Overall, it was just okay. It met my need for a convenient meal nearby, but I can't say that I'd recommend it or be excited to go back. read more

When it came out though, it was cooked well. My steak - with mushrooms and onions - was a bit on the salty side but that's likely just me. Overall, it's good until . . . . . . . there is a weird guy who is there sometimes who struts around and calls into his walkie-talkie like he's landing the mothership. He must be the slow cousin of an owner or something, because he makes people uncomfortable with his sickly-sweet attempts at customer service and the strange walkie-talkie calls. My husband and I stopped in here and had an amazing time. The same atmosphere you can expect from any Texas Roadhouse - music and chit chat but nothing too loud or rowdy (at least when we were there at the beginning of the dinner rush). Butter tasted different . No warm water in ladies room to wash hands , mentioned it to waitress washing hands. She said it was cold too. She said she would mention it to management. Manager stopped by table. I told her about no hot water she said she has called corporate about it but they do nothing .she said no hot water when dishwasher was going . Hope they are not washing dishes in cold water . Employees using the rest room no hot water to wash hands. Can you say ecoli ? Yikes ! Hell to the no . I have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the customer service at Texas Road house. The ability to pick your own steak before being seated is very tempting and in some cases my first choice before I decide on my beverage for the evening. I was very impressed with COVID measures taken by this establishment. There is a tent located outside where an employee will add you to the waiting list and advise you when you can enter the facility. When I got there, I had a party of four and we were seated immediately. They clearly identify all booths and tables that are not to be used and are to maintain social distancing. All employees wear masks and in some cases gloves. They obviously took this very seriously and show a deep concern for their customers based on their COVID measures. I had the bone-in ribeye with baked potato and corn. I asked for a medium cook on the steak and they nailed it. It was not over seasoned, as some have claimed occurred in the past, so that is likely great feedback to help improve the quality of their products. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their meals and the kids definitely took home some extra steak fries. I do have to say, those seasoned steak fries were yummy and I couldn't stop eating them after I felt full. The staff I interacted with was very friendly and all were using some form of PPE as required by COVID guidelines. Wow have they gone downhill!! This place used to be good. I got their famous filet which was tough with gristle. A filet should be tender. The other meal was a sirloin, which is what we usually get. Horrible food! I ordered the country fried steak first they brought it with the brown gravy which I ordered white, then they brought me one with white gravy overcooked and the gravy had like a tangy taste to it like it was old. The manager was walking around the restaurant and came by and asked me and I let her know that I didn't think the gravy was fresh. We then asked for a Diet Coke and more bread when she came back she needed to ask again what I had ordered for a drink and forgot the bread. Maybe use a book if you can't remember anything. Maybe it'd be okay if she had any social skills. The good news is I have enough time sitting at this table waiting for her to come back around with the bread for 45 mins I can write this book about how bad hannah needs to choose a different field of work. I'm between a 3 star & 4 star... Compared to other highly commercialized, average price-point, chain restaurants - I would give them 4 stars. The staff is consistently wonderful, in my experience, in particular, at this Augusta, ME location. It's one of my 8 yr old daughter's favorite restaurants - along with Margarita's. Fun atmosphere and consistently decent food, service... at a reasonable price point. Food arrives timely, and if you go in with reasonable expectations for what kind of restaurant this is - you'll consistently leave satisfied. Having said that, the "fun" atmosphere can often get a bit too loud during the dinner/evening hours - unless you're really going for a loud, country bar/dive kind of atmosphere... And there are definitely many higher quality steakhouses - if you want an incredible steak... be on the lookout for when OPA in Waterville has it on special... or several other Waterville/Augusta/Portland area restaurants, having the steak n chicken theme - would rate much better. Texas Roadhouse is the McD's of steakhouses, like Olive Garden is the McD's of Italian restaurants and so forth. If your expectations are adjusted accordingly, it's 4 stars if that's what you are looking for. If you are looking for a higher quality, super delicious steakhouse... this would be a solid 3 stars - in the end - that's what I give it. My wife and I decided to go out to the Texas Roadhouse in Augusta on Saturday evening, Oct. 8, as it is one of our favorites. We both decided to order two meals of pulled pork. We have eaten this meal many times before here. After the salads, our pulled pork arrived and we were ready to dig in. As we all know, pulled pork is mixed with barbeque sauce for that unique flavor. But...there is just right, too little sauce, or as we received, overloaded so much it takes away, or overcomes the pork itself. We never complain about food or service, but in this case we reported it to our waitperson, who in turn talked to the manager. The manager sent our waitperson back with an apology, stating " that different cooks have different methods of mix pork to sauce." In all fairness, they did offer a substitute., However, since the people we were with were already finished, we declined the offer. At the very least it would have been nice had the manager handled it themselves. I might as well have gone to the "Golden Arches" and at least walked away with a satisfied feeling. To me, my wife and I could have stayed home, and saved alot of wasted time, miles and money. Not a very good experience. By the way, our waitperson was perfect.! read more

Honestly this rating is for the horrible waitress JENNA. She should not be working in a restaurant setting. She was so bad. The worst waitress I've ever had. She messed up on the entire order. She tried to blame my Boyfriend for her mistake as she wrote it down wrong. I wish there was a survey thing you can do on their website. We had to call over the manager a few times. First time was our drinks. We sat and waited over 45 mins for water!!! The second time was the appetizers and they were incorrect. Jenna never came back to check on us. The steaks are out of this world, and the only place I've ever found a real Texas-tasting steak outside of Texas. (I visit in Texas only ones, but the meat is unforgettable.) it's always cooked just the way I want it, and prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is rowdy and noisy, so I go off-peak. And I quickly realized I was not alone in that department everyone was leaving with bags of food. I can t really find anything really wrong with the food just three things disappointed me the green beans would have been better if they were cooked in true southern fashion using fresh not canned green beans and the corn could have been fresh especially given this time of year . I ordered the fillet and ribs combo that steak was cooked absolutely to perfection only thing was it was not seasoned at all which I think was just an oversight . Because I was reading about their steak seasoning and saw ingredients listed and the fact that they sell it peaked my interest I just think that steak would be been even better than it already was .I just used salt and pepper at the table.Again the steak was still cooked to perfection just can t stress that enough. I came to Texas Roadhouse bc it is one of my faves , everything is always so delicious the pork chops are delicious, the steaks are amazing as well my only complaint is that I had to send my steak back twice not bc it was nasty , but for some reason I ordered my steak medium and my waitress looked at me in surprise and asked if I was sure I wanted it medium and I confirmed what I wanted but when I received my steak it was well done so I had to send it back, And the second one they sent was medium well and I didn't want to be a nuisance but I know how I like my steak and I would like to get what I pay for you know , finally the manager delivered my steak and it was perfect I try not to be anal at restaurants but sometimes I'm biased bc I went to culinary school but all in all I love Texas Roadhouse read more

Extremely disgusted by my take out meal this evening! I ordered the pull pork dinner which is typically quite good and a great value. I was shocked when I got home, opened my container and saw the pork. Dry doesn't begin to describe it! No BBQ sauce, dry as a bone and burned edges. It was inedible. Even the dog turned her nose up at it. If I'd been dining at the restaurant it would have instantly been sent back but since it was carry out I'm stuck with it. It literally looks days old and like the bottom of the pot was dredged out. There's no way I'm eating it for fear of getting sick. First time here post C-19. Food was a disappointment. A medium-rare Ribeye steak arrives that is ess than 1/2" thick and cooked well done. Shrimp so coated in salt the first bite burns your tongue. "Loaded" baked potatoe with a smidge of this and that was not loaded. And the cup of chili was no more than baked beans with burger and taco seasoning, tasting aweful.
