The design and decor is completely out of this world. You go all the way back to the 1950's. I can't express enough how beautiful this place looks, you come here and your back in the 50's. We arrived during one of their car shows, what a fun event, all sorts of beautiful cars but they were very crowded and busy, but fun! The walls were plastered with old photos of hollywood stars from that era, they had a prop of an old gas pump outside, the booths were old fashioned and just random other things that time jumped you back into time. The waitress was prompt and attentive, surprisingly with how busy it was. They accept debit, credit and cash. The menu wasn't overly extensive, kinda wish they had a little more on it but it had enough to select from. They have two parking lots, both free, on a normal day there is plenty of parking. They are wheelchair accessible also. I wasn't a fan of the bathroom being outside, if your inside you have to go around to side of the building but it has electricity, it was cleaned and stocked, but still a little inconvenient on the location of the bathroom. You can definitely eat outside, there's so many places to sit, with a fully stocked condiment station located outside. They only open seasonally so call and make sure they are open. You can order your food from a couple windows from the outside, you don't have to go inside. If you want to order from your car you turn on your headlights to order and they come to your car and take your order, it's a pretty interesting system they have going on, when your done you leave your dishes on your hood and they retrieve it. Prices were decent, I didn't consider it super expensive. My husband had the greased lightening burger with sweet potato fries. It's a double patty burger with veggies, cheese and two mozzarella sticks inside it. He says it was good but the mozzarella sticks were dry but he loved the sweet potato fries. I had the blue cheese with bacon burger with onion rings. My onion rings were burnt and the burger was good but the american cheese didn't melt at all on it, it looked just like it was added last minute and never had a chance to melt. I enjoyed it but I've had better, we also had a couple clam cakes. Now those were very good! The peanut butter sundae soft serve was amazing, creamy peanut butter all through it. The soda was crisp and fresh, not flat. Don't get me wrong, we liked our food, we were happy and we will definitely be back, but there was no "wow" factor involved. It was very busy, they probably didn't have enough staff, so we understand. It's not a deal breaker. It's a very fun place, the staff was great and prices were reasonable. I would encourage families to come here, it's very family oriented, your children will have a blast here and there is plenty of dessert. The online menu is not updated, the menu at the restaurant is. Keep that in mind. They also have seafood such as, lobster rolls, whole belly clams, clam baskets, haddock baskets, scallop baskets, etc. Tons of burger choices, some dinner entree choices and salads. With that all being said, it was a pleasant experience, upbeat and a fun atmosphere. Overall, 3 stars! read more

I've driven by here so many times and always wanted to stop, but we never did. Until TODAY! What a cool place. Every corner has so much detail in the decor and the vibes. You can eat inside in the retro 50's diner with all the decor. You can eat under a shade structure with ambient lighting. We pulled in for 2 lobster rolls a French fry and a water. Lobster was absolutely putrid. Not fresh by any means, shredded and tasted awful. You can sure tell service has gone to hell also. one of my most favorite restaurants in the Augusta area!! This drive in is not only absolutely adorable but well priced and has such a big menu. They have Maine hotdogs (the little pink ones) which is super nostalgic. Their fried food is incredible - I opt for the cheese curds but their chicken and seafood is great too! And the cherry on top is literally that - a cherry on top (of a sundae)! They have the most amazing fried Oreo sundae (my fav) but if you aren't feeling like stuffing your face, they have so many options like a proper ice cream joint. Waiters/waitresses come to your car to greet you and are always pleasant- they definitely have fun working there. New Red Barn . Fast Eddie's is on 202 and has an old fashioned concept of putting your lights on tha eating in your car. They had 10 other cars there mid afternoon. The breading on the fish was crispy and well seasoned, the fish was moist and well cooked, but had very little flavor. My husband liked his shake, but I found it too sweet. I'm going full stars for Fast Eddie's. Great food, great service, appropriate prices, and proper selection. My wife loves the malt shakes which are a rare treat in these modern days. FE does the malts well. The french fries, onion rings, and sweet potato fries are all strong. Burgers and red plastic hot dogs (you know the kind I mean...) taste as good as they should. All generally under priced. The difference is made up with the scallops and lobster which are market price anywhere you go so they can be high or very high. Still some of the better around so get there while you can. They are seasonal and I swear every year it seems shorter and shorter. If you get a chance and you happen to be on Route 202 visiting Maine or exploring, keep going until you find them on the side of the road. Awesome experience. Definitely recommend. Also, their fries are delicious, both the sweet potato and regular. Steak and cheese sandwich is excellent. Chicken salad is a regular fav. We ate inside just to see all the interesting decor on the walls, however you can eat in your car, and there are also tables and a play area for kids outside to eat at. Prices I think are good for the area, and the service you are getting, you would pay about the same at a food shack or a take-out place. I suppose the other reviews are family. I feel bad leaving a poor review but we drove considerably out of our way to come here based on glorified reviews. I had the chicken finger basket. I left most of my dinner on the table. The chicken was barely in the breading that was hard to chew. The coleslaw was warm and salty. Everything was low quality frozen foods.
