This is one of the best Wendy's I've ever been to. Management is extremely nice, food is fresh, and tables are clean.

Big four is so popular that there was an hour wait for a table the first time I visited. Today, we…read morevisited just before closing and got in easily. The cafe is located in the converted historic ROM Webber furniture factory. The Big Four cafe name honors the railroad line that used to pass through town. Courtney, our server, was friendly and attentive. She kept water filled and checked on us frequently. Food came out quickly. I had the Herb and Garlic Chopped salad, which was beautifully plated, fresh and delicious. Romaine, tomatoes, onions were topped with cheese and avocado. The garlicky vinaigrette dressing was tangy. I I also had a cup of the Texas Chili, which was topped with cheese and jalapeño slices. The beef was tender and the soup base slightly spicy. My husband had the Cuban Press (at Courtney's recommendation) and it was tasty and hearty. The sandwich was made using Indiana ham, slowed cooked pork and melted cheese. He said his sandwich was an easy 5 stars. Don't miss the beer battered onion rings which are fresh made and delicious. (I stole a couple of his rings.) There are roomy restrooms with changing tables. Free parking is available in front of the building. Worth a visit.

I noticed the good reviews so we drove an extra 10 minutes which turned out to be a worthwhile decision. Excellent spot for breakfast and the full dining area supports my opinion. I had the breakfast quesadillas which were delicious! My friends had a breakfast combo which she said was excellent. The server was patient and helpful as I vacillated between options. Definitely a two thumbs up experience and worth a drive!

So decided to stop here for lunch yesterday and we went in the parking lot and there were no…read moreparking spaces. So we decided to go do something else and come back. So we came back about 12:30 and the parking lot was still full and it looks like that was all people at the golf course because when we went in there were only three tables seated and probably 6 dirty tables with dishes stacked on them. We were behind a couple of people at the host stand and she went to seat them and said she would be back and then when she came back she said hang on I've got to go do something else so we finally did get seated after a good wait at the host stand. She was going to seat us at a high top and my friend just had hip surgery and couldn't sit at a high top so that was my fault for not saying something up front because then she had to clean off one of those dirty tables to get us a seat. I ordered a smoked Cherry old fashioned and my friend had not decided what she wanted yet so I got mine first while she was thinking about getting one. So I took a drink of it and she took a drink of mine and went ahead and ordered one. I was not too impressed with it it was very Cherry forward and not really boozy but when she got hers it was a different animal hers was boozy like it should be so there was some inconsistency there. Our waitress was nice enough but it appeared that there was not enough help in the restaurant and that may have been what led to all the dirty tables she seemed to be doing a little bit of everything so she wasn't overly attentive to our table. I ordered the carne asada fries and my friend ordered the southwest salad. My friend loved her salad and my fries were fine but we're not real hot and by the time you got to the bottom they were all soggy. This is a newly opened place so maybe they will get better with time and then we will try them again. We will follow the reviews and see what happens.

We started with the sauer kraut balls, pretzel with beer cheese, and pickle fries. All were delicious! The pickle fries have a great pickle to breading ratio, will gladly order these again! I went full toddler and ordered the chicken tenders and fries, they were exactly what I wanted and were a generous portion.

Some of the booths are German style, giving you a European feel. Madison, our server, was friendly and attentive. The servers know the regulars by name and welcome them warmly. We sat in a booth near the kitchen and could hear a lot of laughter coming from the cooks in the back. The place is jovial. We ordered the Chicken Dinner for Two ($32) which includes about 10 pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and choice of salad or slaw. This was a massive amount of food and could easily feed a family of four. The coleslaw was delicious, the best I've had in a while. The slaw was creamy and tart (not too sweet). The hand-breaded chicken is a winner in my book. The breading is crispy with lots of seasoning, especially pepper. The chicken is hot, moist and tender - perfectly cooked. This is some of the best fried chicken in the State. The potatoes and gravy are an indulgent treat for me. Yes, I had seconds. The green beans are cooked with bacon, yet light. My husband really liked the beans. We took half the meal home for dinner. The menu is German- themed, combined with traditional Hoosier classics. The Tenderlojn sandwich they serve put them on Indiana's Tenderloin Trail. I wanted to try the sauerkraut balls and pretzels, but I was too full. There is free street parking. There are tv monitors to watch the games at the small ball. Brau Haus is totally worth a visit.
