I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. On 2/27/26 around 10:00 PM at Wendy's Store #5283 in Beltsville, MD, I witnessed extremely concerning food safety practices. While waiting at the drive-thru window for my drinks, the employee preparing them sneezed and coughed directly into her hands. She then wiped her nose with the back of her hand and continued handling beverages without washing or sanitizing. I politely asked if she could wash her hands before finishing my order. Instead of correcting the issue, she rolled her eyes and walked toward the food prep area. I asked another employee to ensure she did not handle my food without washing her hands, but my concern was ignored. When I repeated my request, I was met with hostility and profanity in Spanish. I also observed another employee working behind the counter with a small toddler present in the food preparation area, which raised additional health and safety concerns. When I asked for a refund due to the unsanitary conditions, the manager took the food from my hands and shut the window. She then returned to the window to tell me that because it was a mobile order, I would need to contact customer service for a refund. There was no attempt to address the sanitation issue or resolve the matter professionally. Food safety and basic hygiene should never be negotiable. The lack of accountability and the hostile response made this experience extremely disappointing. I hope management and corporate leadership take this seriously and review sanitation and staff training at this location. read more

The food is just about what you would expect from Wendy's, only complaint is that 2/3 of my chicken tenders were hard as a rock. The service though is always below par when I come here and I only come here because of the local location. My meal tasted like pretty much anything that I would expect from a decently run Wendy's. My Biggie Bag chicken sandwich and fries were pretty normal, so I have no complaints. Well, the nuggets were a bit cold, but that was not anything really to cry over. I will say that I thought the customer service could have been a bit more friendly. My cashier seemed to have a bit of an attitude and was more focused on the conversation with her coworkers. However, she seemed to change her attitude when I matched her energy. Hey, if you can be aloof, so can I. Fortunately for most fast food experiences, you do not need to engage with the cashier for an extended amount of time. Overall, I thought the restaurant was pretty clean. Unfortunately, the soda machine was out of many varieties of sodas. I only noticed this because I really wanted a ginger Diet Coke, but it was unavailable. However, I enjoyed my orange Diet Coke (Hey, there is a first time for everything). read more

Freshest Wendy's Ever! Food is on point. Customer service is friendly and patient. Service was fast. We were just driving on the highway back home and stop by to grab a bite to eat. When I tell you I was excited to come here all because of being misled by Google Maps, I'm not lying. Still attempting to discover the area I am currently in I rely on my phone and computer to see what is around me before I head out. By doing so, I use street view and saw that this Wendy's location, at least by Google Maps standards, was of the yellow roofed variety. I have not seed one of those in a ages. I was excited because I thought I was in for a trip down memory lane. Man, what a disappointment. Upon rolling up I noticed that this got the makeover most locations have recently got. It was not a good start. With seeing this, I opted to use the drive thru and that turned into a huge mess. The mess part is because there is no real flow to the direction in which you enter the drive thru. You go the direction you think it is to be and you quite possibly are wrong. There is and entrance from the street that people will attempt to get into the line through. There is an adjacent fast food restaurant that people can move to here from. There is a shopping plaza, and hotel that just adds to the confusion. When you do finally get to order and start to make your way through the line prepare for a long wait. At the ordering kiosk, be prepared to be cut off when ordering and then be prepared to be rushed while ordering. I wish I could tell you that the food was at least up to par, but I cannot. The sandwich was condiment heavy, fries were cold, but at least my order was correct. In a pinch, this place could do, but I cannot see myself being a regular here. read more

I came here to get something to eat as I usually don't get fast food. I ordered a number seven and it was advertised as $11.69. When I pulled up to the window to pay, I noticed that they charge me over $14 and I thought that's a lot of tax. When I asked why I was charged it much they said that they only give larges after 10 PM. And I said well there was no sign saying that and nobody told me that before they swiped my card. They also told me that they gave me a double patty instead of the single that I asked for because they just assumed I wanted a double patty. When I said I wanted to pay for what I asked for they got offended and said that most customers are OK with it because they started charging for larges over three months ago and usually the customers that come around that time and it was 11 PM all know this. I told them I'm not from there and thought that my request was not unreasonable and I should be refunded the difference because I did not order the things that they were trying to give me and make me pay for. My advice for this Wendy's is don't charge your customers for things that they didn't ask for that was not advertised and then get angry when they want their money back, that is not legal. read more

Coming to this place at night sucks. Waited almost 15 minutes until someone came to the speaker so I can put an order in even when I tried to they still couldn't get my order right. On top of that when I tried to pay they kept arguing about who was going to take my payment. Do better & hire people with common sense. read more

I would not have believed that it was possible for a Wendy's to be so bad if I hadn't experienced it myself. It was about 9:30pm and we had just had a very long day moving. I needed some food and we were headed to Columbia so this was on the way. We sat in the drive through line.... forever. Initially I thought it was the guy three cars ahead of me being difficult. Nope. He moved forward and we sat. Again. We sat so long that the car two cars behind me actually backed up and left. We were parked with nowhere to go. The guy in front of me finished ordering and pulled up as much as he could, which wasn't much because there were still two cars in front of him waiting for their food. The employee proceeds to attempt to get my order when I'm three feet from the microphone. It was wrong three times and I tried telling him that he was just going to have to wait until I was able to pull up. I'm finally able to pull up and get radio silence for a minute. Then another employee comes on. She actually was clear and competent. I wanted no tomato, add cheese on my sandwich. Honey mustard please. Completed the order in a timely manner, but I still couldn't pull up. We're now watching to see if there's a large order... nope. Just two little bags go into the car. We are finally able to pull up to the first window. No confirmation of my order. No amount. No receipt... So I ask about the receipt. He says I get it at the next window... what? Since when? At this point, we're laughing at how bad this whole experience has been. We're finally able to pull up to the second window. The girl comes out and says my order "no onions, add cheese." No... it's no tomato, onions are fine. She apologizes and goes back in, yelling that we need a new sandwich. She comes back and says that she got it wrong and the order was right. Ok. So I take the bag. I ask about the honey mustard and receipt. She gives me the honey mustard and says that the receipt is in the bag. Phew, we're done. I pull forward into a spot to get things situated and determine whether or not the meal I'd waited over a half hour for was correct. It was right... but I had no straw. Thankfully I'd paid for the right order. We laughed the whole way to Columbia. We'll never be back to this location. read more

Ick - this place sucks. I was jonesing for Wendy's on the way back from Reserve duty and saw the road sign (can you believe there isn't one from Beltsville all the way to Bel Air on I-95?? Ridic!!! Anyway, I pulled up to get my normal - large chili and a small chicken nuggets. Nein on the large chili since they ran out of large chili cups. I was like, what?? When I asked if they could just put the portion into two small cups and charge the same price, they said nope. What a jip. Anyway, they have breakfast which doesn't seem to have made it to VA Wendy's in my general vicinity just yet so that was a plus and the only saving grace from getting the dreaded 1-star review. I'm just going to copy and paste my complaint I filed on their website: "The experience starts prior to my actual order. A gentleman in front of me ordered a large wild berry tea, sweetened. He got his drink, took a few sips while waiting, then brought it to the counter, saying that it was unsweetened when he had asked for sweetened. I noticed that one of the Hispanic women at the front took the drink and placed it on the back counter instead of immediately pouring it out, which was a huge red flag. She opened the lid slightly and left it there. A Hispanic man (the only man working, it seemed), then took the "used" drink, put the lid back on tightly, and slid it next to a partition on the counter, out of general view. I then placed my order of a number 1 and number 7 sandwich only. I asked for a wild berry tea, unsweetened, with my order. The same aforementioned woman at the front noticed that I was keeping my eye on the "used" drink in the back. She kept asking over and over, trying to block my view, whether I had asked the order to be "for here" or "to go", saying, "Are you sure?" multiple times. I didn't take my eyes off the drink in the back. Sure enough, the man then took the lid off the drink, filled the top 1-2 inches, and then brought it over to me. My instant reaction was, "Oh, no. I am NOT taking that drink. I saw exactly what you did to that." I stated that very clearly, and the employee, knowing full well that he had done wrong, immediately took the drink away and brought another one. I'm not sure that he even used a new cup, or the same one. Knowing him, it was probably the same one, now that I think about it. He didn't come towards the front or pass the front again, staying hidden near the drive-thru. The same female worker who had tried to distract me tried to mitigate the situation again by asking what I had ordered, for what seemed to be the fifth time. I promptly asked for a manager and explained what had happened. Other patrons who had witnessed the scene were disgusted as well - one woman was absolutely appalled and suggested that the Health Department be notified. I simply wanted both employees to be terminated from their positions. This is an egregious health and cleanliness issue. It is gross, disgusting, and wholly unhygienic. While this is a bit of a stretch, I can't help but feel that this happened, partly because of my race. I am Asian and was speaking in Korean with my mother the entire time, speaking English only to place my order. I believe that if I had been Hispanic (on the basis that I would be "one of theirs", by race), or Caucasian (on the impression that I would be very likely to complain/take formal action), this would not have happened at all. I feel that the two employees expected me to take it as it came and, in short, be rather dumb, possibly as dumb as them, seeing as how they thought they could get away with such an act in blatant view." Oh, and service is uber-slow. Not to mention that they haven't re-done the interior at this location so it looks totally dated. read more

I normally write somewhat long-winded reviews about places, especially when I have something really good or really bad to say. I don't even know where to start for this one... ::Standing in line behind one employee who is having a long conversation with the cashier. Cashier says "Hurry up, XYZ- I've got customers waiting!" "So?" She responds, "I'm a customer!". Great professionalism. As a former business owner and as someone in the hospitality industry- this wouldn't fly in any restaurant. ::Over-confident employee leaves the line, two employees (one of which with a backwards hat) start grab-assing behind the counter. One goes to the P.O.S to check what time he can leave, and walks away. Nevermind that there are 5-7 people in line and only one cashier in action. I'm glad his customers are very important to him. ::Four employees on the floor, one on his cell phone in plain view of customers and "managers", two standing around pondering the mysteries of life, and one actually cleaning. The food is fairly standard for Wendy's, but the professionalism is abysmal. I pay more for Wendy's because the food is somewhat fresher, but also because when I dine in- I'm greeted with a smile and decent people. If this were my business, I'd have fired everyone and hired people who WANT to work. 8% unemployment, unskilled labor, you're not irreplaceable. Wrote in to the company to alert the franchise owner (who may not realize his staff could cost him business), asked to be called or e-mailed. Nothing. Really bad experience... I arrived at 2:55, waited five minutes as the one, sole cashier fuddled about shifting cash between registers in an attempt to give change out to the one customer ahead of me. Finally my order is taken...a #1 Dave's Single with fries and a small coke. As I sat waiting I noted two other customers impatiently waiting for their time delinquent orders to arrive. I became mentally concerned after 5 minutes of not receiving my order... Remember this is a fast food establishment. I wondered if there was a staff shorted, or an equipment failure or a shortage of food supplies. Finally at 3:00pm, Fifteen (15) minutes later, my order is delivered with an apology. However, I must note this is the third time I visited this same store and receive the same shorted of service. I simply cannot believe this store will survive much longer. I didn't experience bad service like others, but almost all the tables were dirty and the burger was bland - under-salted, basically. Too much mayo, no ketchup. During the lunch rush, Barbara provided excellent customer service, but everything else was lacking. Notably, there were numerous flies on surfaces and flying around. Once we all ordered the food was just thrown up in no order and we had to spend around 10-15 finding out which food was ours, once we got that figured out we then had to go back and and ask for the several items missing from our order. I have to say this Wendy's has come a very long way in the past few years. I visit here somewhat frequently and have great experiences every time. The food is always hot and fresh and the customer service is always friendly and professional. I see most of the reviews are old but surprised someone got bad service as of late. This is one of the better Wendy's in my area (compared to Laurel and Arundel Mills one). I go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and get great service and food every time. read more

This establishment is the worst Wendy's I have ever been too. The service was horrible the store is dirty. The ketchup dispenser had hair on it. The utensils were empty. The women's bathroom had no latches. The tables were dirty. They tried to give my diabetic step mother a different soda than she ordered. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant. read more
