Listen, I love smashed burgers and Char'd is one of my favorites. What I'm not a fan of is spending $20+ for a burger. Enter: Nash and Smashed. Finally an affordable halal burger that's enough to be called a meal. I ordered the double patty mushroom burger and dare I say, it was quite filling. I also ordered a side of waffle fries which was sprinkled with some type of seasoning that really elevated it. They have two sauces available on the side. The orange one is a little zesty fry sauce and the white sauce is garlic based (I believe). The only downside to this place is its location. I'm so happy to have this new location so close to me. It has much better parking than the other location on Colesville Rd and a relaxing interior. I've been a couple times and the food never disappoints, but this time, everything was excellent. Money (yes, that's his real name) took care of my elderly sister and me and he was so kind! My sister can be a little picky at times but she had nothing but compliments. Her chicken tenders were a great size, seasoned well, without being too salty, and she said she knew this was quality chicken. She enjoyed her waffles as well. My smashburger was delicious. My only regret was not getting a double instead of a single. The fries were awesome! Whatever seasoning they used was addictive and the fries were hot and crispy...we couldn't stop eating them! The entire time, Money kept checking on us and assisted us with whatever we needed. We even had a little chat with him about the importance of family. What a pleasant surprise. I had been meaning to come here for quite some time and finally had the opportunity. Walked in on Christmas Eve about an hour before closing. Was greeted at the register and advised on what to get. I ultimately chose "The Beast" Double Smashed with Turkey Bacon and the "Original Nashville". The food took about 15 minutes but was delicious. The burger was a complete surprise. I loved it. First time having turkey bacon on a sandwich and it was a hit. The burger was wonderfully seasoned and wasn't overshadowed by the bun like most smash burgers. The original chicken sandwich had good head and was a good portion. I could totally do without the coleslaw. The fries were ok but could use more seasoning to me. Overall it was a good experience. Tucked in here for lunch before a Garrison Brothers job this past Friday... I like to visit independent restaurants, when I can. I like the uniqueness... the menu items that you can't just get everywhere... owners that are actually on the premises! First thing you might like to know: There are coupons on their website. Jeremy had the Farmhouse Smash burger with the fried egg, onion straws, house sauce, American cheese, tomato, no lettuce. He thought the sauce was a little strange, but had no problem smashing the whole sandwich in like 30 seconds. He also had a 1/4 chicken, which was incredibly tender. I didn't even get a chance to get a taste. The white dipping sauce was a big hit. It comes with everything. I'm not really sure how to describe it... it's less pungent than ranch, but definitely has more flavor than plain mayo... garlic mayo?? I had the Peri Chicken burrito with red beans, rice, chicken, mayo, pico, green pepper and corn, no lettuce so I could share with Jeremy... There was some sort of tang here that my palate did not appreciate. I was filled before I finished half the burrito so it's a pretty hearty meal. We both LOVED the onion rings, though. The burger was good, a tad dry but just a nice fresh tasting burger on a soft bun. My eife ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich which was huge as in 2 breast served with slaw and seasoned but found it to be dry. My son ordered The Farmhouse burger which is a burger with an egg on top, the burger was good but the egg was cooked way too much. I also ordered wings with a side of Buffalo Sauce which were nice size, well cooked with a nice crunch and juicy. Ordered thier waffle fries which came seasoned nicely but could use more crunch, we also ordered a side of Mac n Cheese which was good, not your mamma Mac but was creamy and lastly we ordered a Vanilla Milk shake which wasn't fresh made to order as I watched the girl pull it out of the freezer but was good. The people working here must be new or something because the manager kept directing them what to do and they were confused. We got a chicken bucket but the chicken had gone bad??? so 30$ of chicken being thrown out. The smash burgers were a little raw. The one good item were the chicken tenders. read more

I want to start off with saying I'm going to say not sure about this place because it's possible I just came at the wrong time. The service wasn't the best but I can see that the young lady at the front was doing the best she could with a smile but again it was a little busy. I got invited to checkout the NEW Peri Peri Original location in Silver Spring and was so excited because I've been to the one in Laurel more times than I'd like to admit and because this new location is in my hometown of Colesville! I always get the honey butter fried chicken sandwich and it's so good! It's my favorite menu item and rivals other fried chicken sandwiches, like the ones from Roaming Rooster. During this visit at the new Silver Spring location, I also got to try their steak, tacos, and mint lemonade. The mint lemonade reminded me of when I would always order one when I visited Dubai. It was delicious and I also enjoyed the steak and the rest of the food. Being brand new, they are still working out some quirks when it comes to service and efficiency, but I think they are a great addition to Silver Spring. read more

I have been here quite a few times now, today was actually the fastest we got our food. Most of the time it's adventures in pokey town but I like the food a lot so I bring some knitting for while I wait, but today I didn't even get a full row done before they brought out the food, so thumbs up! Usually, it's incredibly slow so I don't recommend coming if you're in a hurry. I almost always get the chicken peri wrap and most of the time it's very good with lots of the sauce so super flavorful. If I have a side I can only eat half the wrap at once. Today I tried the seasoned rice as a side and I liked it, it has some actual heat to it and they gave me way too much so I'll be using the leftovers with tonight's saag paneer and I have half my wrap left for tomorrow's lunch. They have several items that are similar (wrap vs. pita vs. burrito) but I usually get the wrap. Hubby got the burrito today which was like the wrap but with some rice and beans in it as well as the chicken, veggies and sauce. I've never ordered from the steakhouse side of the house so to speak, but I do really like the peri peri here, I think it's better than the other chain in the area. OK so...read me out. Their fried chicken sandwich is better than Popeyes. Yes, you read me. BETTER THAN POPEYES! It can be customized with different sauces and there's an array of sides to choose from if you desire a little something extra :) We're talking perfectly crispy tenders on a soft bun with mayo (for the classic), or you could get honey butter/honey garlic/Nashville hot/buffalo, ooooor you could even get the fillet that's grilled after a 24hr marinade. The sauces on the side are mango lime (tastes likes a vinaigrette), lemon herb (has a creamy mouthfeel and a personal favorite), mild, garlic, hot, and extra hot. I only tried their sandwich, but the next go around will include some sides and flame-grilled chicken. ***UPDATE*** Tried their onion rings (perfectly crispy and fresh), Honey Butter Sandwich (the flavor is WOW, and I'm not a fan of honey butter), peri peri fries were delicious but could use a little more crisp, and the shrimp tacos were filled with juicy, flavorful shrimp and fresh toppings. 10/10 :D Located in Colesville shopping center, I can see this turning into a family hotspot once their Kallisto Steakhouse menu rolls out. There will be mocktails (remember, it's Halal), milkshakes, burgers, specialty platters, steaks, and open-fired grilled chicken with sides. A carnivores dream! The seating area is also clean and comfortable-looking. This place is excellent! I've been here 5 times over the past several months for both take out and dining in and slowly discovering what I love, what I like and what I think needs improvement. First off, the peri fries are delicious. They sprinkle a seasoning on their fries and it's addictive. I've learned that I really love that seasoning so I asked if they could sprinkle more on and they gladly did. Note that the seasoning is somewhat spicy the more you sprinkle on. Also excellent is their fried chicken sandwich. I've tried the honey garlic version on a quality brioche bun and it was outstanding - crunchy, moist and very tasty. It ranks up there as one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I'm sure the others on their menu are the same. I recently tried their grilled chicken wings and they also very good with a charcoal grill flavor to them. The wings were a tad dry but delicious nonetheless. I would get these again. I have also tried their burgers and I have to say, this is where there is room for improvement. As a previous reviewer said, there is quite a bit of gristle in the ground up beef. It can make it somewhat unpleasant to eat. The taste of the burger was fine, but be prepared to have dental floss handy if having gristle stuck in your teeth makes you uncomfortable. Also, it would be nice if the same good brioche bun was toasted for the burger, maybe even buttered. If the burger meat can be fixed, I would order the burger again, but until then it would be a pass for me on this menu item. This and the fact that they don't have many no-sugar drinks (I.e. unsweet iced tea), keeps me from giving an enthusiastic 5-stars. It's easily a very strong 4 stars for me. Service here has always been great and I've never had to wait an unusually long amount of time for my order. Disappointed after eating here for the first time. Service and ambiance were fine but the food was barely edible. I got the peri peri chicken wrap and the shrimp tacos. The wrap was soggy full of some mayo/creamy sauce (wayyy too much), chicken had very little flavor, seemed like it was baked and chopped up, not sure but fast food chicken is better. Lots of iceberg lettuce and tasteless tomato. For $11! Shrimp tacos very similar- tons of sauce and the shrimp were chewy. Tortillas did not seem fresh at all. I was expecting something along the lines of Nando's and this definitely was not. I wish I had just gone to Polka Deli or Wendy's across the street. Very disappointed and cannot recommend. I was looking forward to trying this place given how much I love Nando's Peri-Peri chicken. I also really loved the Pollo Mex food that used to be in this location. I knew this was not Nando's but was hoping for something tasty as it is so convenient. We tried the mini platter (1/4 chicken, dark with two wings and two tenders, lemon herb sauce) and a top sirloin ordered medium off the Kallisto menu, all to go. Unfortunately every menu item failed expectations of even normal food. 1. The chicken was dry with the sauce applied either right before or right after. The lemon herb sauce was miserably tangy and the chicken was chewy. It did not appear that we actually got much dark meat at all. We did not get the side order of peri peri fries that we ordered, rather we got some steamed veggies (best part of the meal, but not ordered). The mashed potatoes were somehow sweet with a really thick consistency. I could not finish them. My 13-year old who is a good eater bailed after one bite of a wing. 2. The sirloin, ordered medium, had no trace of pink (see picture). I only live 5 minutes from this place, I've had Outback steak ordered medium stay with some pink after a 20-25 minute drive, so I don't think that's the issue. Given the chicken was also overdone, I think it's a common issue. Really disappointing for a small $25 steak. I doubt it was even the size claimed on the menu. The food was ready with minimal to no wait, and the dining area seemed really nice. I hate to give a bad review as I have a family member who was in the restaurant business. I appreciate that it is difficult, and I hope this place turns it around. We will not be going back for a long time though. read more

I really love the one in Laurel MD so I went to the one on New Hampshire Ave in Colesville, which states it's the original. Not sure how they got this far if it is based off of this one because they messed up all the way around. I ordered a lamb and beef gyro with onions rings. What I got was a bowl full of rice with what looked like ground beef red onions and tomatoe on top?! And no onion rings even though I saw some in the fry rack. So I took it back thinking that he had given me the wrong order. The guy at the counter mumbled something about how he thought I wanted it this way and proceeded to say and I thought the rice would be good for you??! Now is that because I am Amerasian? So I told him no I would like a gyro with onion rings. Now he did apologize profusely and told me he would have it done in 2 minutes. Wha . . . I don't want speed I want my food made properly. After about 1 minute he told me it was ready and he proceeded to put the gyro in a bag. I reminded him that I had also ordered onion rings. He said oh yea. I had actually made some for myself because when you came in I was starving. I haven't eaten since last night. So in other words you were hoping I wouldn't ask about the onion rings so that you could eat mine??? He laughs and puts what was remaining in a to go container. So you know they were stone cold. All the ketchup packets had something sticky on them. When I unwrapped my pita I was not familiar with what he had wrapped.
