As good as you can get for the airport! I like Wendy's new chicken tenders - they're hearty and consistent. The fries are also always tasty. I didn't love the caramel cold foam cold brew - I like my coffee a little sweet but the caramel made it taste rather artificial to me - next time I'd try the cold brew with cream only (you can always grab a sugar packet to fix it if it's not sweet enough). Houston's Hobby Airport didn't really have much from which to choose for a quick bite, but Wendy's fit the bill for fast, friendly service. The price was also reasonable for a Combo and seemed to be on-par with normal "non-airport" Wendy's pricing! I still long for cheese that's actually melted on a sandwich, but their breakfast baconator really hit the spot after landing early. Finding a table can be tricky as it shares seating with a few other counter service restaurants. Those Wendy's Breakfast Potatoes might be the best thing on their menu and I really wish they'd make them available all day! For my drink, I got a bottle of water which included a 30 cent surcharge. I guess you have to pay a little more to be healthy and forego that soda. Hey, it's just a normal Wendy's, but the coffee is just as good as the competitors, and priced less. The large cup was huge. They offer a normal hot brew coffee or a cold brew. We didn't eat, just a fast stop for coffee, it was good, and the employees were pleasant. Flew in early on 8/20/19 and wanted to get a Spicy Chicken sandwich for lunch. It was about 9:45 and the breakfast menu was still being displayed. It is Wendy's, as someone astutely observed, and they are consistent with what you would expect. I've always felt Wendy's did the best fast-food job on a sausage, egg, cheese biscuit. Always crowded in the AM, relatively quick, very chaotic. Everything seems to cost a dollar more at this one. They could cut costs by putting the ketchup out, but in this economy paying someone to hand out ketchup all day might not be a bad thing. My favorite breakfast concession at Hobby, but you can do better for lunch and dinner elsewhere. read more

Even though I am fraternally linked to Dave Thomas, I still do not really see the allure in Wendy's unless you are absolutely stuck in a place for an extended period of time and your only other options are not available or you are just sick of everything else. On an early morning flight out of Hobby the Barry's Pizza is not an option. The bar at BWW is probably not the best idea either. So enter Wendy and her breakfast sandwiches. Two stars is generous since it is airport food and you are starving after having your plane delayed - either eat it and shut up, or sit there and fume about your lack of options. There is worse in the world, but there is better. The Wendy's at the UC at UH has better food quality and nicer people workers - probably because it is UH and not the airport. But still, two stars is nicer than one and I will probably be forced to eat here again sometime very soon. read more
