I agree with Reid S. Solid three star Wendy's. I haven't been able to try the nugs yet, since I typically am only here in the morning. I guess I could have morning nugs, I just haven't been adventurous enough to step out and make that life decision. I usually get the number 6 sandwich. Wendy's did a good job making this sandwich. Biscuit, sausage, egg, cheese. Real egg, too. For a few weeks, Wendy's used those brown bathroom paper towels instead of napkins, but this morning, Wendy's used the real napkins. I witness a worker complaining about customers and another worker on his phone. I saw customers get the wrong order including myself until I had to go back up to the counter and ask again. I stood at the counter for 25 mins waiting for my food just to see people who ordered after me get their orders first. When I did finally get my food my egg and biscuit was COLD. I strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND at all! If you can eat literally anywhere else in the airport. The service was the worse I've ever seen in my life. Service was atrociously slow and everyone is terribly disorganized. When it was finally my turn to order, the guy at the register asked me what I wanted, I placed my order, then he turned around and walked away. He returned about 30 seconds later and I placed my order again. My food was ready much quicker than four people who ordrred before me. The burger was correct and tasted good, but the fries were overcooked and I suspect they haven't changed the oil in the fryer in a looooooooooong time. So you're in the atrium of HOU thinking of dinner and you remember there's a Wendy's not more than 20 feet away. As you walk over you try to remember if that was Samuel L Jackson in their Sriracha chicken that you saw on YouTube. You can't remember and you can't even find the ad on YouTube so when the Menu pleads with you to try their new Sriracha on everything meal you know damn well that ain't happening you'll be getting the number 6 combo as usual. The line moves quickly as it's a fast food restaurant and soon enough the cashier is asking you, "Would you like a small, medium, or large combo?" You don't eat fast food often so you always forget that they've all started asking that question and you are stumped. As the cashier repeats your options you know that the best value is the large but you doubt you could finish the drink without a bathroom break, but you're definitely too thirsty for the small. Obviously you've chosen size medium and after giving the cashier your name, you move to side to wait with Mr. Allen, Ms. Anita, Mr. Carson, and Ms. Elizabeth as the bag-man Micheal W. calls them with a degree of politeness you didn't expect at a Wendy's. You try to muster the courage to say "Thank you Mr. Micheal" as he calls your name in the same way he did the others but you can't find the courage so you settle for a less risky "Thank you sir" with a smile. You easily find a seat and dig into your food ferociously finishing in seconds which probably wasn't the healthiest way to eat the food. read more

Just a quick review for a fast good restaurant. I always say that these airport restaurants have it rough because there are so many people trying to get food between flights. In general this an ok place for a quick meal (you know what you are going to get when you go fast food), and the folks behind the counter were pleasant. The big drawback to this place is the small space where everyone has to stand while waiting for their order to be filled. Like most restaurants in this situation they get in as many orders as possible and then the orders are filled as people wait in this cramped space. If this restaurant could solve this problem (and be a little more efficient in how they distribute the food), this could be a more successful operation. As it is, I only go here when I have lots of time and as one of my last choices in this airport. Shame because I know most of the folks behind the counter are doing their best. read more

Not too many choices here for breakfast at 6 am so I went the better known brand although I have never had breakfast at Wendy's. I had to transfer flights while I was in the Houston Airport and had not had breakfast or lunch that day. I had a (small) less than a hour layover and had to go through customs and then again through security. It was tough but things were looking up when I had about 15 minutes to spare to find a restaurant. This Wendy's is nestled in between two long terminals, in a food court. The line wasn't that long, so I decided to go here. The employees were fine and worked at a fair airport pace. The food made me believe that the prices were set at an airport price. I was able to make it to my gate at the end of the terminal. Once I was boarded and settled in my seat, I was able to eat my food. The food was good, but the quality was low. What I mean by this is that the lettuce was yellow, almost to be considered wilted. I had to take the lettuce off, because it didn't look appetizing. I would still recommend this place, though, as it was better than the options in the food court. read more

Service would rate zero stars if possible. On Sunday afternoon with a nearly empty airport they were taking 15 minutes to deliver food. For breakfast I ordered the $5-$6 combo: Artisan egg sandwich (with sausage patty: bacon was the other option) Steel cut oatmeal Orange juice Sandwich was very greasy like the buns soaked up the sausage fat that should have been drained. Even the egg was coated in lots of oil too and tasted bad for that reason, too, and though the wait was fairly long it wasn't very warm. I was given a roundish cookie shaped object that was flat on one side instead of my cup of oatmeal. NOT WHAT was on the menu and had been ordered. The OJ was overly sweet (must be plenty of sugar added, not natural as represented on menu), and was six ounces as filled and the cover had drops of juice all over on top of it ... in all not the eight ounces I expected for the small which is also on the Wendy's website so that was short-changing. I felt cheated all around and will not return to any Wendy's again, although this may not be representative of their service in regular restaurants outside of airports (???), I do not want Dave Thomas & company getting my hard earned money after being cheated like this. Not for the cost since yeah, hey, it was an airport ... but rather a real crappy start of the day at 7:30am to then sit on planes with that junk food festering in my tummy, and not the good start I wanted for the day with the lukewarm crappy sandwich which impacts the taste poorly (think solidifying fat). If you have to get it, get the bacon instead, but I recommend you avoid this greasy outfit, even McDonald's is much better and the quality of the breakfast at McD's is way better, at least eating it is enjoyable, not like forcing this stuff down. Can't figure it out except, the whole order sucked. Next time the Mexican restaurant right across (30 feet directly behind your back as you order) had much healthier options in breakfast burritos and similar breakfast tacos facing Wendy's and had more customers. Really looked like a better option so I'm kicking myself for not going there, against my better judgement, and all because I wanted to play it safe with a brand name and was too groggy to think straight ... and got real crap at Wendy's. read more

My family and I were flying to New York on Thanksgiving. We arrived early, so we decided to get something to eat before the flight. My husband came back with fondue bacon fries. Of course I had to have some. I went to Wendy's and placed my order. Because the airport is generally chaos, I allow for that when dealing with establishments. The only greeting I got was "Next". After taking my order and confirming it she just gave me a receipt and moved on to the next customer. The wait was a bit, but I did not mind because it meant I would have fresh fries. After getting my food, I returned to the waiting area. When I opened my fries the bacon was only half cooked, with raw bacon scattered over my cheese. These things happen. I take them back. There was no apology. She just said she will make you another one. I wait patiently. After giving me my fries, the second person gives me my food and says something I could not hear. I ask her to repeat it. She told me that I needed to take the fries I had left on the counter with the raw bacon and throw them in the garbage. I am a patient person, but this was like adding insult to injury. I have worked in fast food and have even dealt with secret shoppers. Had I actually been a secret shopper, this location would have failed miserable. Customer service was sadly lacking from beginning to end. The quality was questionable. And personal interaction like a smile and greeting and an apology would have went a long way toward making me a satisfied customer versus a disappointed one read more
