There are three Wendy's in Madison WI. I keep trying each every week or two. They all seem like they are waiting for the ace to fall, store closing. Litter in the parking lots. Planting beds weedy and part dead shrubs, bare mulch areas . Consistently lousy service by indifferent staff. Unable to get even a small order correct. Wendy's famous chili inconsistent in thickness or wateriness, varying bean content. Musical chairs staff and managers. Sad. read more

8:30 AM 08MAR2025 - drive through male was horrible at customer service and the order was wrong. We live on other side of town so when we returned home to have breakfast we discovered the order was completely wrong and the location was too far to return. Mistakes are made but when you experience the horrible attitude of this individual, it's clear he simply doesn't care and not worth the time to call. What happened to hiring people who are courteous. I don't usually review fast food, because, what can you expect, but what happened to 'Welcome to Wendy's; may I take your order?' The last 2 days I got to the drive through menu to give my order & the first time a girl started talking in such a way I thought I was listening to a recording; today some guy sounded like he was @ open mic night.. no wonder the line was so long. Then when I honestly & calmly said that I didn't order the drink the girl & the food counter was handing me, he threw up his arms like I was holding him up! I just want to order my food, get a smile when I pay & have my order handed to me, & leave go on my way. I don't need a sad comedy act. Btw, the fries need more salt. It's Wendy's. The food is always on par with what you'd expect from a fast food place (the new guarantee on the fries is great!) but never go to this location if you want something quick. There have been a handful of times I've sat in the drive through and had to just give up after 8 minutes without moving an inch. I've timed some visits at 12 minutes from ordering to food in hand, and that wasn't when they were busy. It's worth it, but they could really use either more training or a better production process, whichever the case may be. read more

I used to go to this Wendy's about 4 times a week. But after a second bad experience last night, I'm going elsewhere. First, they totally messed up a very simple order during a rather slow time...when I returned, I saw that they only had 4 people working, and there were 2 people ahead of me in the lobby. The manager was chewing out an employee in front of everyone about using the wrong drawer...instead of helping customers. When I got there and told them my problem, they did apologize and replaced my order (after getting it wrong a 2nd time)...I wasted a half hour to return to get food for my daughter. Poor management and customer service skills and no offer to compensate me for time or gas...I plan on contesting this charge on my credit card. read more

All my little guy eats are french fries and generally, we go to the competitors Chick-Fil-A or Culver's. We use to go to Wendy's all the time and now NEVER AGAIN! We stopped in last night (2/8/23 7ish) after soccer practice and I usually ask for fries with no salt in order to get Fresh Fries. Well guess what, after 10 mins, I get the fries in the bag, drive 1/2 way down the block, and my son had a couple and was like dad these are yucky. I tried one and was like WTH, Come On! Who the F#*k want cold fries that's been sitting under a heat lamp. A six year old sure doesn't and neither do I. So I went back, let them know about the situation(even the manager was there with her smiling azz poor product), and they gave us another order with no apologies, but oh well (at least he wasn't complaining the 2nd time around even though he only ate 1/2 the order smdh). Up at 3 am in the morning, and it was a long morning. He wakes up throwing up and first thing I'm thinking is he has food poisoning from the 2nd batch (maybe the oil they are cooked in was old, who knows) because he only had water between the hours of 5p-7:15p before the freakin fries. Could it be the Wendy's fries? That was the last time you ever get anymore $ from me. Have a nice life! read more

This Wendys is a joke, Unfortunately it is not the funny ha-ha kind, but the ironic sarcastic kind. I stopped at this location just 5 minutes ago. Went through drive through. I always order the same thing, breakfast mornin' melt Panini, bacon. No combo this time. 3 of 5 times, including today, I've gotten sausage instead of bacon. It's annoying this time because they even asked me at the pay window to confirm bacon. Big ol' piece of nasty sausage instead. They also removed the Tomato this time which I enjoy. This location was redone, however it's still kind of dingy. They have the coke freestyle machine but you might as well not go there for that - many of the flavors either will run out on you mid-drink, or not be available because it isn't monitored/refilled like it should be. I used to visit this location frequently, but there's another (better/fresher) sub shop that opened up just down the road - Mad City Sandwiches. My coworkers and I go to this location instead of Wendys now. This particular location is a literal joke at my place of employment - Going to Wendys? Make sure to have an extra 15 minutes and to check, check, check your food! I've complained to Corporate before about the lack of accuracy of the food, this has been a consistent issue for the last 3 years I've been going to the location. Not a word back from Wendy's. Footnote: They don't care, do not expect them to change. The same people have been working here for a long time, and they may have gutted the exterior and interior, but until they gut some of the employees out this location simply will not change. I would suggest a change in upper management of this location - Staff reflects leadership, and the leadership is poor. As far as people saying they've gotten sick from the food - I haven't gotten sick personally, but my job is very close to this location. I've seen co-workers get sick from eating there. But you have to have a bit of a iron-gut for Wendys. Let's face it - we all know the hamburgers are so pre-processed and actually proven to be /bad/ for you (like McDonalds). If you are used to eating lighter fare, salads, and the like - prepare to spend quality time with the toilet. read more

Once again Wendys on Stoughton Rd in Madison doesn't disappoint on disappointing me. When I asked for mayo packets at the window in the drive through I got an eye roll like I was asking for a foot massage. Get home to find out they forgot my dipping sauces for my kids nugget meal. Also asked for an orange soda and got some weird, nasty orange juice drink. I also ordered a homestyle chicken sandwich with extra lettuce and received a regular crispy chicken sandwich with a limp wet piece of yuck on it. All that and the people working the drive thru never seem to have any common courtesy. All of them, every visit, always act like the just got cheated on by their s/o or just found out grandma died. Not much for smiling or simple niceties such as thank you or enjoy. Half the time I don't get any words from any of them besides my total when I pay. I've worked fast food, I've worked drive thru. I know how annoying customers can be and how soul crushing the job can be. But this location forgets something I've ordered EVERY SINGLE VISIT I make there. Maybe they need new headsets? I don't know.. Its such a convenient location for my drive home and I typically enjoy Wendys food but it seems like I can only get quality customer service if I go in the building and thats not easy when I want to make a quick stop with kids in the car. read more
