I've never had a complaint about the food here -- the burgers and fries are always great, and the milkshakes are delicious. However, I have had complaints about the service. In my experience, there is hardly ever anyone working the register -- it seems they expect people to order solely on the kiosks. Most horrifyingly: I once was dining in the restaurant and needed to use the restroom. I saw an employee enter and leave only about 30 seconds later (not nearly long enough to wash his hands). I then walked into the restroom to find the entire floor very sticky and wet, and the toilet seat half covered in urine. I'd never heard of the Mooyah Burger chain until stumbling across this location in downtown Madison on State Street. My nearest comparison to Mooyah's is that it's similar to Five Guys. I used to be quite fond of a burger at Five Guys, but they've expanded so quickly that quality has not kept up. Mooyah on the other hand is right where Five Guys used to be. Mooyah offers their burger in a few different bun types. The patty has pretty good flavor and there's a generous portion of fries that comes with the combo. A fun location only a few blocks off the U.W. campus grounds and a solid burger at a reasonable price. Keep up the good work Mooyah. Avoid this place at all costs. Staff is terrible and when they screw up nobody speaks English and just look at you like your dumb and you won't get anything fixed. This is only the start...5 times in a row over period of 3 months same order for pub pretzel burger...no beer chz, they would always serve it on wrong bun and none of the right toppings. One of the 5 times they literally just threw a plain burger in plain bun into my bag. I always tip staff even but never again in that place. Now onto my latest stop which was last night March 10th at 930pm. I ordered the new patty melt to give them yet another undeserving chance to redeem themselves and guess what......screwed it all up and served it with a smile. I got a plan normal bun ,raw onion when should of been grilled and to top it off the top plain bun was literally just flipped over so it didn't look like a bun well I guess that's their logic? This is all waaaay beyond a bad night or bad luck. This is poorly managed and terrible staff that don't care and are driving your business into the ground at a fast rate. I'd fire them all and start over. I use to run several restaurants and I would never tolerate even a 2nd screw up. Again after all these times I was refused a refund as well. A pretty average spot to go to. Went for the first time last week and got the Mushroom Swiss Burger, fries and a shake. Totaled up to around $16, which I think is pretty pricey for one person's meal. The burger was good, nothing special. Fries were tasty, just sort of thrown in the bag everywhere -- didn't eat half of them because they were just all over the place. Shake was also mediocre, I got cookies and cream.
