From the…read morefirst moment that I actually met Eric (when my fiancé proposed) I knew I was in good hands. He exudes compassion, understanding and knowledge. This is important to a bride! He took our proposal, engagement and wedding pictures...and we've been so happy with them all. Eric is dependable, organized and SO personable. Our wedding party, particularly the girls, raved about how Eric handled things. I must have thought that Eric's ways were the norm, but I was informed from my closest and most trusted friends that Eric was extraordinary and even was told "I wish I had a photographer like him." As a bride, you want to be sure you are in trusted hands. He carried the train of my dress many times, gave my girls tips on how to stand to look their best, joked with us and made us all at ease. Not to mention he cleans up nice, and cares about his appearance on the day that you REALLY care about yours! Luckily, my husband and I live near Eric because he came over to our home to go through our pictures and put together our wedding album. However, I'd have to assume he'd have done this even if we lived far away, that is just the kind of guy he is. We settled on our pictures, just received our album and we are smitten with it! As are our parents, who got miniature albums, too. :) Groom's Thoughts: My personal experience with Eric was a little different. I knew Eric prior to hiring him as our photographer. But I knew from the start of working with him on the proposal pictures he was a good match for my fiancé (now wife). Organized, professional, and very perceptive of his client's needs. He takes the time to explain how best to take shots in a professional way, but always truly listens to what you want. Watching how calm my wife was during all of the photography was amazing and I owe much of that to Eric's demeanor with her. He put her at ease by helping and directing her at the right times. Additionally, he was extremely helpful with anything we needed outside of just photography - helping my wife bustle her dress, giving bridesmaids pointers on how to help, keeping us on time, etc. Additionally, for me it means a lot when you team up with the right people to create an amazing experience. While Eric was focused on my extremely beautiful wife (aka hottest girl in the world), he teamed up with another photographer who was perfect for working with me and the rest of the groomsmen. Funny, relaxed yet still organized and on-point, Robb was more than I would have expected. He made our day easy, and more importantly got the right/best pictures. I had sent Ela a bunch of shots we wanted to re-create with our wedding party and they did every last shot and they came out exactly like we wanted. They trudged through old barns, cow manure, mud, dirt and grime to get our shots. Not too many photographers would do that!!! Not only did they do it, they suggested most of those shots! Our daughter got married in Chicago and we live in Florida so it was very complicated to find somebody that we would like. We couldn't really rely on recommendations because we didn't know anybody there. Also to be perfectly honest we didn't want to spend more than $3000 on the photography. Being that the wedding was in downtown Chicago, everybody that I talk to before finding Robert was very stuck up and very very pricey. When I looked at Roberts work on his website I was absolutely amazed by the pictures that he would take. They were not traditional wedding pictures where you have everybody just lined up, they were pictures of the moments, pictures of the things that were actually happening. Just by looking at those pictures you could imagine what was going on at those weddings. His photographs tell a story and capture the most natural shots possible. For us, this was very important. Robert was very courteous and was able to cover the day without being obtrusive while at the same time being in the right place at the right time. We had many compliments about him from our guests. When I was hiring Robert I wanted to hire two photographers for my daughter's wedding every single moment would be captured. He tried to assured me that I would not need two photographers because of the size of her wedding. We had 80 people. I was still skeptical but he did say that he would have his assistant with him so I decide to go I and just hire him. Well, he was right! He was able to cover everything! Bride's preparations, groom's preparation, me being stressed out :), maid of honor helping, bride drinking a glass of champagne.... Everything that you want to remember from your wedding. After researching MANY photographers, we found Brian through a friend who had also used him for her wedding. He came highly recommended, and now, it's easy to see why! Everyone has a different idea of what their wedding day will be like, and one of the things that I loved about working with Brian is that he was eager to uncover how we imagined our big day. When we met for the first time, I was struck by what a great listener Brian was and how good he was at asking questions to clarify his understanding of what we wanted in terms of our wedding photography. As we talked, it was easy to tell that he knew exactly what we wanted - something personal, candid and a little off-beat. As we worked together in the months leading up to our wedding, Brian was so helpful in keeping everything organized! He even put us in touch with a few recommended videographers! Fast forward to the day of our wedding. Brian was an absolute gift! My hair and make-up team was running a little behind schedule, and I was taking my own sweet time. Add to that a long line at Velvet Taco and a limo driver that liked to take the scenic route, and we had the recipe for a potential wedding disaster! : o We had planned to make five different stops prior to heading to the church for pictures, but because of the timing we had to cut it down to three. Brian was as cool as a cucumber the entire time! Knowing that our time would be limited at our last stop, he briefed our wedding party prior to arrival on what he planned to do and how we could help things go smoothly. Brian truly saved the day! He helped get us to the church on time! He did an outstanding job of organizing our families for pictures prior to our ceremony and capturing so many of the small intimate moments that made up our wedding day. From the moment we connected, Brian was flexible, accommodating and just plain easy to be around! We've only seen our sneak peak, but holy cow! He mailed it 2-3 times and I never received it. I am sure it was the mail delivery. But he saved the day and hand delivered it after these failed attempts to mail!! How great is that?!
