Love this bank, love this branch! I have been a member of this bank for over 10 years. All my transactions have been smooth. I have checking Accts, loans, and auto insurance with them. They are always on top of everything. Just recently got another loan through them, talk about efficient!!! Elsa, in particular, is amazing. She has excellent customer service and follows through with what she says. I highly recommend this institution. They are a perfect example of what banking should be like. read more

I when to wescom today to apply to refinance my vehicle and for the second time they denied me... What they told me that they couldn't process the load because I have 2 accounts from 6 years ago that are affecting me and that's the only two accounts I have bad in my credit, it's funny that I got a second car after they denied me the first time.. Now I have not dealt with any other representative at this location beside a female representative. As soon as I walked in, I was already able to sense negativity assuming because it was almost closing time. She didn't look happy and as soon as I told her I wanted to open an account she seemed even more annoyed. I was irritated the moment I saw this. We sat down and begun the process to check wether I would qualify for a checking account. This female representative then tells me I apologize but it states here in chex system that you owe money to Bank of America and weren't able to open an account. I went back to Wescom for a different branch about 9 days later after I figured out what was wrong because I knew I owed money but I paid it all back in full almost 2 years ago. I received a copy of my Chex System report through mail and it showed that I paid it in full. After returning to Wescom in Stevenson's Ranch, the manager here told me that in their system it was also showing PAID IN FULL and had only one option to open a savings account or take credit consumer counseling, get my certification, and open a checking a account. The point is that this female representative didn't try to help me at all and lied to me about what it says in the Chex System report. Her attitude was horrible. What great customer service she gave. What a way to represent one of the most well known credit unions. This review was based off of only her and no one else. NOTE: The Stevenson's Ranch branch had amazing customer service. They called who they needed to call and did their research to do what they could to help me out. They even provided me with the credit consumer counseling number. read more

My review is for Wescom as a whole. I joined Wescom in 2006 & I LOVED, LOVED this CU until they denied me three separate times for a loan. They didnt even call me to advise, I had to call them each time to check the status which was disappointing.They said my DTI was too high, I tried to explain & give proof that my hubby pays the mortgage however I guess they didn't want to take the risk. Never mind the fact that I had proven myself to be a great member. I paid off an auto loan with them & had NEVER been late. They were able to successfully drafted the pmts from my account. My fico score has ALWAYS been over 740, I am/was gainfully employed & my direct deposit goes to Wescom.. I feel like a #, sorta like I'm banking with one of those major banks such as BofA or Chase. Your employees seem friendly and everything, but waiting on hold for sometimes 20-30 minutes is completely unacceptable, especially for your members. There really isn't an excuse for it when larger banks get to your call and handle your concerns MUCH faster. I'm being prompted to call YOU in order to use my debit card in a completely different app and waiting on hold this long has given me an opportunity to write down all my frustrations in this review. I even walked into a branch and had a teller call the number. He sat on hold for 7 minutes andcwhen nobody ever picked up, he totally understood what I was going through! DO not force me to contact you to verify my card if you will not answer your phones! Such an inconvenience. read more

I didn't even notice that I had not been receiving mail from Wescom until I went to close my account (Wescom savings rates are much lower than what you can get from online savings). As I am closing the account I figure out that they have been charging me $2.00 a month since last year for "returned mail" fees. I have lived at the same address for 6 years!! read more

I have never in my life dealt with such a horrible Banking system. Banks will be banks, we all know that. However, this is the worst bank out there. Not only is it filthy and old looking when you go inside, the application is terrible. We all know that dealing with banks who keep our money for as long as they need to "To verify funds" is a nightmare in it self, well, in this case they kept my money for 4 days, to pay their employees, while all my checks were getting returned. Yes, they returned a gas bill and phone bill instead of paying it even though I have direct deposit. When I looked at the APP, it was completely giving me wrong inaccurate information. No matter how many times I tried to keep up with it, it always gave me the wrong amounts available etc. It was an utter mess. Never again will I ever touch the floor of that bank. The staff there are bitter and mad all the time. The only person there I really enjoyed working with was Luis. But everyone else there was rude and "No" there is no such feeling as you're treated great as family once you become a member. I give this place one star for Luis. That's about it. read more

The WORST Customer service I have ever received in my life. Went in for a loan, but didn't have all the criteria ready to go. They pressured me into closing that day and "bent" the rules for me - then harassed me for weeks to get them paperwork that wasn't readily accessible. I was trying my best to get them what they needed. 3 weeks later, a "manager" named Cecil called me and said I only had 30 days to get them the necessary paperwork (which no one had ever told me) then threatened if i don't get them the paperwork they need they would default my loan and i'd have to pay it all out of pocket the following week. Had to miss work and pull so many strings to get them what they wanted. I honestly feel i got taken advantage of and swindled and now I'm stuck in a loan with them for a few years. I love this credit union! I like credit unions in general--and for that reason I have belonged to a few of them around the country. In the past I have also kept my money in regular banks, so I have plenty to compare this institution with. These guys are a hundred percent professional and small-town friendly. They offer good rates on loans and have never given me a reason to be annoyed for anything (which is saying quite a lot for a bank I think!). I go in about once a month to make deposits and they all know me. They have a cute kids' area, free coffee, validated parking, it's clean and nice there, and I've never waited in line for more than three or four minutes. Also I love the cross-section-of-the-population customers who bank there, who it's worth noting are equally friendly in a slow-paced easy-going kind of way. I had been a customer for 9 years with a checking and savings account the entire time. They implemented a "loyalty" system which will nickel and dime you to death unless you open more accounts and use more services. Moreover, they will not reimburse you for these numerous "loyalty fees". There are much better banks with better rates and better terms and conditions. Avoid at all cost. read more
