The GOOD. The exterior is freshly painted and clean. The staff was very friendly, and the grounds seemed well kept and secure. Inside the room was nice and tidy and clean. It seemed to be well manicured and clean, and it was a great price. It's very close to the livestock show. They even thought of the small details like putting the bar right above the air conditioner to hold the curtains so they're not flapping all night when the air conditioner is on. A nice sitting area it was nicely painted good size TV. Big room. Breakfast was included. It was the basic continental, but it did the job. THE BAD: upon pulling back the sheets, I felt like they had not been changed. I did see a makeup stains on two of the three pillows and hair on the sheets. The sheets were very tattered and torn and ripped, which was very unpleasant for a hotel to be using those. I made a reservation through Expedia for 5 days and drove an hour to get there. When I showed up, they tried to change the deal. I have two ESA dogs. First, the guy ignored me when I walked in because he was too busy on a personal phone call sitting on the side of the entryway on a chair. He didn't acknowledge me. I didn't know that he worked there until he finally got up and walked behind the desk. Then when I tried to check in, he asked me if my dogs shed. I said well one is shorthaired and one is long-haired. He said we'll do they shed. Their dogs of course they shed. So he went on to say that the last time they had an issue with somebody where they had to pay $300 to have the room cleaned because there was dog hair. So he wanted me to agree to an open ended uncapped Cleaning fee separate from the damage deposit. I told him no that's not what I agreed to. As far as the deposit, at first it was $100 deposit which I could tell from his attitude that he was going to use for a cleaning fee. Then he said well they could come in and check my room every day to make sure it was clean. What!? Then he said the room had to be as clean as when I arrived, which is nuts all hotels clean up after you leave. And there was an additional Pet fee so that's usually what that is for. I went out to try to talk to Expedia and the hotel people would not pick up the phone to talk to Expedia and the man would not tell me his name. Then when I went back in to try to talk to them again, it was a $200 deposit they were going to require. You know when you get that feeling that tells you to run and run fast and the other direction? My Spidey senses were going crazy. It took me 2 1/2 hours arm wrestling with Expedia to get a refund and I went and checked into the La Quinta in Mercedes. This just smacked of bait and switch. It's too bad because whatever I saw of the property, which was not much, looked OK. The written price is right, but not if they're going to change the deal after you've made the reservation. I would avoid these folks like the plague, especially if you have a pet of any kind. read more

Use to come here every time we visited the area. Its a place to sleep, semi clean.. dont expect nothing fancy... they protect the pool like its the pentagon... The owner came off a lil rude with some comments to my wife about pool hours n check out time... our kid jus wanted to swim before we left... dont think ill b coming back here any more. read more

I wouldn't stay in this inn again. It looks like it's been recently renovated so it draws you in, but the rooms are not clean. The renovation is shoddy and it seems like there are systemic poor housekeeping practices. There were hair balls in the bed and on the floor, and the fitted sheets are too small for the bed and the pop off all night. You don't feel safe walking around your room without shoes and showering without flip flops on. The towels feel like they were purchased third hand and are like sandpaper! Breakfast was just the bare minimum to make the place look like they had a continental breakfast but was clearly the cheapest quality ingredients you could buy and get by with. At least the rooms cooled off Wouldn't stay here again. read more

Very rude to my guests and myself. They rudely came and asked us for verification and just followed up with assumptions that we did not belong there and we were underage. We're not. Also found several bugs in the room and bed we stayed in. Definitely NEVER coming here again. They even gave me the wrong room the first time and tried to make me pay for a second room! And it did NOT smell great at all. AVOID THE PEOPLE WHO OWN THE PLACE. They're so rude I need to repeat this again, they WILL pester you about having a "bracelet" for the pool. Which NO ONE BUT THE TENANTS ARE ALLOWED. They pretty much almost asked us to leave at one point and EVEN THREATENED "TO CALL THE SHERIFF!!" They're very old and have a whole different perspective on us, almost racist really, we're American and they have us a stereotypical response and treated us as if we were just some dumb kids. We're not even kids. Anyways, they will probably not mention that, just so they can harass and hassle you about it when you're too busy having fun to interrupt you in the relaxing time YOU PAID FOR. HORRIBLE PLACE. HORRIBLE SERVICE/TREATMENT/BREAKFAST NAGGING MANAGEMENT. If you want to have "fun" and need PRIVACY, this IS NOT THE PLACE. read more

We used to stay here about twice a year. We liked the size of the rooms and can deal with the lack of upgrades and poor appearance. However, the past few times we have had to have interactions with the owner. The gentlemen that typically works the front desk is polite and bilingual. He's always very nice to us. However, the few times we've had to deal with the owner makes us not want to ever return. He's just not very nice at all. He could at least be friendly and greet people but he's just a jerk. This year we stayed at a different hotel that had the most kind front desk attendants. Anything else we could deal with but now having had friendly hotel staff elsewhere, we won't be returning to the Weslaco Inn. read more

Horrible management, hit and miss wifi access, unclean rooms, limited tissue paper and bath towels and inflated prices despite the Covid-19 complimentary breakfast removal. RUN!! Love this place super clean check in was easy convenient and fast! The vending/ ice area is clean and the front office breakfast area is clean and smells great staff is friendly the pool is sparking clean and water is temperature perfect! I totally recommend staying here I know I will my next visit here in the area!!! read more

I had to change hotels because of loud music. I checked in the next afternoon to the Weslaco Inn. They have been doing updates, and I found the place so inviting. The staff was so nice, the grounds nice and clean. If I'm ever this way again, this is the hotel for me. read more

Hate to say it but only give 2 stars we have always stayed here when we are here visiting family but this year we have been given hardly any extras as much as we paid. They are not very courteous in the office and charge for the simple things. Have been told makeup can't come out so $2.50 extra and then asked for more toilet paper but can only have a roll. Then the room only cleaned once because of COVID but we are here for 10 days sorry to say but booking somewhere else next time. read more
