My mom was released here from the hospital to do rehab. She has a friend in the memory care assisted living and thought they could visit each other. Skilled nursing rehab is in a separate building. The expectation was that my mom would be there a few weeks to build her strength so she could use her walker again. My mom was in a room with a roommate who sat at a table the entire time my mom was there. My mom was taking pain meds every 3 hours. She missed her meds and after an hour she was told the order was just placed with the pharmacist. It wasn't placed when she arrived. My mother, father, and brother thought the room was small and not clean. My mom discharged herself within 3 hours. When I mentioned this experience to someone at my book club she said she was there for a short time. She agreed the room was small for two people and said her roommate kept waking up at 4am and walked around the room. She did not say anything negative or positive about the care she received. read more

I was in their skilled nursing facility for 16 days for IV antibiotics. I came in from the Hospital in an ambulance. I arrived about 445?? pm, was almost an hour before I was even acknowledged in the room. Then it was mostly administrative, no nursing care etc. It was almost 11 pm before I got my evening meds. The room was old and Musty and triggered my asthma cough for 16 days. I asked about any kind of air purifier, they had nothing in their stock and would do nothing to accommodate my concerns. The floor was under construction adding to the chaos of getting patients to and from the dining hall. Food and Physical therapy department were the only positive sides of the facility. I could tell the aids for the permanent residents were very caring and respectful. I had days I never saw my CNA. From a business standpoint I see Wesley Glenn as a high end Independent living / assisted living facility. The skilled nursing floor was added as a way to keep their residents in house during rehab from age related issues, stroke, falls and breaks etc. I got the minimal care I was there for, my IV infusion 3x a day but that was about it. I felt as if I was a transient patient on Medicare. I sent in a letter with my concerns, never expecting any response and I was right. Not even an acknowledgement form letter. read more

My mother has been here several years--moving from independent to assisted living. She gets great care from supportive, interested staff!

Wesley glen was so kind and caring with my mother. All of the nurses and aides were always right there to help her whenever she needed it. The rooms were very homey and made us feel so comfortable. We were so lucky that this wonderful place had an opening in there rehab center. They were able to work with my mother and get her all of the therapy and care that she needed. My father was at Wesley Glen for several years. He received care through their skilled nursing facility after heart surgery. He lived in independent living, assisted living, and the memory unit as his condition warranted. The staff was good- except that there was always one or more caregiver in each unit that really touched his heart and made him feel happy and safe. The facility was exceptional. It was clean and in good repair. Every day that was nice we walked through the gardens and woodlands. When weather was inclimate, we went on indoor walks. read more

THIS PLACE IS AN OUTRAGE! Most of the nurses are horrible and neglectful. My mother stayed there for recovery and was mistreated and neglected. These types of places should be comforting and positive. This place is poorly run and the staff seems uncaring and in the wrong profession. They don't answer call buttons and ignore their patients. WG has been home to my mother and aunt for many years, and a good friends mother who is in special care. I feel really good about the quality of the care she receives. The staff are first rate, from the man who brings a new light bulb and cleans the carpet to the excellent waitresses (especially Debbie) to the director of residential services. They are caring, concerned and very eager to help in anyway. They are the special kind of people I would invite to dinner. There are lots of activities available for residents and their families and friends to participate in if they choose. The recent open house was a special treat. The variety in food is very good, though I think the quality was even better before they went to buffet style. The renovations to the lobby and the dining room are very well done. I like the bright pastel paint colors too. (I don't think the dark tan paint down the long hallway to the special care unit was a good choice though. Rather depressing.) Disappointed that the music for memory has not been implemented yet as that has many benefits to those with dementia. This really needs permanent staff to implement and not just a volunteer. Believe staff in special care unit are good but a few could benefit from additional training in how to talk with people with dementia (this comment from my friend whose mother is there.). No place is perfect but WG comes pretty close. I highly recommend it to anyone considering it read more
