She was not listed on yelp, but Yelp listed other dog trainers in the search results and that is how I found Dog Remedy. When I first saw Dog Remedy on yelp, they had 5 stars. Of course I was skeptical at first, but then I read every single review and when I was finished, I wasn't interested in contacting the other dog trainer recommended by my Vet anymore. I just had to contact David Reinecker! There was only one reason I needed a dog trainer. I have 2 dogs, a female corgi and a male Miniature Pinscher. Every now and then, the corgi would attack the Min Pin. I was desperate and under pressure by the husband to give up the corgi. My husband was even rather skeptical of my hiring a dog trainer. He thought the corgi was beyond help. I called Dog Remedy and Tatiana scheduled our first appointment, saying we would probably need 3 sessions one week apart. The price was definitely reasonable, especially after spending so much money on the Min Pin's hospital bills. When David came to see us, he sat down and talked to us at length about the problems we were facing. Then he started to show us what we needed to do with the dogs. Basically we needed to train the dogs so they know we are the alpha over them. I also mentioned to David that my corgi was fearful of other dogs and would always lunge and bark at them on our walks. She was so afraid that she would always launch the initial preemptive strike to ward them off. We went outside for a walk hoping to encounter other dogs so he could show me what to do. We didn't see any other dogs, but he taught me how to walk with her anyways and what to do when other dogs approach. He said we needed to practice the training daily and he would check in with us in about a week. The day after the first visit, we took the dogs out for a walk and I implemented the training taught by David when I saw a dog owner and his 3 dogs. One of his dogs was not on the leash and I was very cautious, not knowing what might happen. But instead of barking and being afraid, my corgi sat next to me calmly, let the dog without the leash come close to her and didn't even flinch when the dog sniffed her butt! Then the two other dogs that were on the leash came close too. And my corgi let one of them sniff her nose! I was amazed! This would never have happened, normally she would probably have barked like crazy and lunged at them to scare them off. We also noticed that she is no longer afraid of gardeners with loud tools and large trucks. David came to see us one more time and he was very happy with the improvement in the dogs' behavior. He said he could tell as soon as he walked in that the dogs are different now. He was also confident that we did not need a 3rd session. I'm happy to say that there has not been any attacks on the Min Pin since and we continually use David's techniques and training to keep our dogs in check.

While Chris usually works on referrals only, he was able to squeeze us in over the weekend. Chris is fantastic! He's an amazing dog "translator" - our puppy is doing better than ever after one meeting with Chris. What we really appreciated was Chris coming to our home and giving us personalized, tailored advice after meeting our puppy and watching our interaction. He saw what our puppy was already capable of doing and gave us the next steps to work on. Chris is also generous to a fault - his rates are low compared to other trainers (MUCH lower than some) and he stayed with us for much longer than we had originally booked him for. I also appreciated his frank honesty and assessment in our puppy; he told us that we would be able to train our puppy ourselves rather than boarding her with him for week(s). Team Penketh has some additional services that we will be taking advantage of, namely daily hikes (includes training work and pack work), overnight boarding for when we're out of town, and more private sessions. As an added bonus, Team Penketh either comes to your home or does pick up/drop off for these services. Traumatic and negligent: They lost my dog, lied to my face, and abandoned the search…read more This past Friday was one of the worst days of my life. Whitaker Dog Day camp lost my dog, Kai, in Highland Park- a city he has never visited-on a day well over 100 degrees. Their driver, Jake claimed my dog opened his own crate and jumped out the van while he was dropping off another dog who lives in Highland Park. This triggered a 3.5 hour nightmare that left my dog severely injured and traumatized. When I arrived to search, Mark, the manager casually admitted Kai had "escaped multiple crates before." The facility completely hid this vital safety information from me for weeks, constantly telling me Kai was doing great. To make matters worse, they advertise as a "CAGE-FREE" facility yet my dog has apparently opened multiple crates before. They had zero compassion or ethics. One hour into a frantic search for my terrified dog, a staff member told me figuring out an emergency protocol was "above his pay grade". Two hours into the search, all 3 Whitaker staff members abandoned me and my sister in the scorching heat to clock out. They put corporate time-cards over a dog's life. Which to me, he's not just a dog. He's family, he's my son. Thank God a kind stranger found Kai about 3.5 hours into the search, right as the sun was setting. He was limping, terrified, and bleeding. The 100+ degree pavement burnt the pads completely off his paws, requiring emergency vet care, heavy medication, and bandages. Kai is now deeply depressed and traumatized. I've never seen my baby this depressed. The owner, Ethan- who is never at the facility and has never even met my dog- took zero accountability. Instead, he tried to blame the incident on Kai's dislike for crates and his recall (even though Kai has completed a 6 week training program w me and his private trainer and completed a one week board and training w his private trainer) and tried to upsell me his own private trainer. He refused to show me camera footage. I asked what is your protocol with these kind of emergencies and he lied saying this has "never happened before", even though his own manager admitted they previously lost another dog named Luna. To top off the disrespect, Ethan sent me a ChatGPT looking text this morning. See pictures below. I'm just beyond traumatized and sick to my stomach how they broke my trust, endangered my baby, and showed a disgusting lack of humanity. They only care about money. Their staff-to-dog ratios are completely unsafe. There are no cameras in the van. Kai will never step foot near this place again.
