Armed Force Security was hired to provide security to a city-owned site at 16th and Capp St in the Mission in San Francisco, adjacent to my children's elementary school. Sadly this area close to BART plaza suffers from problems with shootings, fencing, drug sales and public drug usage. The neighbors and school parents were assured by the city agencies that this security team would also be taking on patrols of the sidewalks with the directive I pasted below. Since Armed Forces Security started the contract on September 19th, the many neighbors and parents that I have polled have seen zero presence in the area. There has been a number of issues of large gangs of 15 or more drug users congregating in the area, and graffiti accumulating daily of on the city-owned property that they are in charge of protecting. Even a local news source reported on how the area next to the site they are securing has become a haven for drug users (https://missionlocal.org/2025/10/day-207-at-the-16th-st-plaza-trucks-move-onto-the-plaza/). "Two Security Guards will be present during the times listed below- one stationed at the Capp Street entrance and the other at the Mission Street entrance. They will also intermittently patrol the perimeter, with a priority on the school side at school hours.
