Every minute of the lesson was worth it!! my instructor really took her time to teach me! Shout out to Belica! She has been the most patient and calm instructor that gave me the confidence to drive and got me licensed!! Thank you so much, Belica!

I feel that their instructor Nathaniel harassed me. This man is probably around 50 and I'm 21 and I…read moreshowed up trying to learn how to drive, and he told me twice that my tattoo was "cute" (commented on two different tattoos) and that my voice was "cute." He also wasn't even a good instructor, we would get to a dead end and I'd have to ask him to turn left or right while being fully stopped. He reached over and adjusted my wheel slightly while on a residential street approximately 5 times without saying a word. I got annoyed and I asked him, "am I driving too close to the other cars?" to which he replied "yes." You're supposed to tell me that! I have reason to believe that it was partially to invade my space especially due to the flirty comments. I've never had another instructor behave this way before, tried him out and was disappointed. I asked for a refund for just that lesson after I had switched to another instructor for my remaining 4 hours I had prepaid as part of the package. I did this to not lose any more money to this company, and another instructor was sufficient for the remaining lessons. When I asked for one for ONLY the lesson with Nathaniel (which they should have offered in the first place), they offered me a complimentary lesson with another instructor instead, stating that they "understood my frustration" and would "have a conversation with him." This completely dodges accountability. This service is not what I paid for and I will be having to go out of my way to file a charge dispute with my bank to make things right. I also reported him to the DMV already online. When I posted about the school and reporting the school to the DMV on my Instagram account, one of my old coworkers reached out to me. She's 18. I didn't even mention his name in my post, yet she had asked me "did you get Nathaniel?". I was like "how the heck did you know?" And apparently he had harassed her too. He thought she was underage and still proceeded to make inappropriate comments about her height. Take this review as a warning. This man shouldn't be teaching driving to anybody ESPECIALLY high schoolers because he is abusing his position of power to harass young girls and women. They responded to this review alerting me that they were advised to sue. As a response, I have attached the email, which includes no personal information about anyone whatsoever, in which they acknowledged that his behavior was unacceptable, not "small talk." They also included in their public response to my review that "lessons are 2 hours long and can be stopped at any time if students feel uncomfortable." This sentence honestly really frustrated me because I feel that it inappropriately shifts the responsibility onto me, a new driver who did not know where we even were on the road or how to get back to the school, to tell a man 3 times my size and double my age while alone in the car with him and reliant on his guidance, that I feel uncomfortable and wish to stop the lesson and head back. I consider this victim blaming. The fact that I reached out the day after and did everything I could to inform them of his behavior and state that I was no longer comfortable working with him after the lesson should have been enough for them to absolve me of blame from this situation. Their response speaks for itself. I stand by my review and encourage fellow Yelpers to always share their experiences, good or bad.

But I felt so intimated by my new machine. I ticked it away for years but I saw an email for a Moving Thread beginner 4-week workshop. 3 hours each session. Last night was class 1 of 4. My class was six ladies aged from mid 20s to late 60s. One never sewed. Two hand sewed. And two of us used machines 20 and 30 years ago and one lady had a machine and used it but felt intimidated. So we were all pretty nervous about our fledgling sewing skills. But the class was paced perfectly and by the end of our first class we successfully completed beautiful reversible totes! The workshop is $550 and it's a great value: project 1 tote, project 2 zipper pouch, project 3 pants (two classes). Our instructor was warm, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, helpful. My only drawback are the chairs. They're not comfortable for me and my leg felt like it wanted to go numb. No one else seemed uncomfortable so maybe it's just me. I'll try a seat cushion to see if it'll help. I brought my machine with me so I could learn how to use it but my husband actually bought the same Heavy Duty Singer sewing machine provided in the class for student use. All the equipment, accessories, fabric needed is provided by the class. You only need to show up. No good or drink allowed in classroom but water is okay. Be sure to enter the rear entrance let the instructions in your student information email. Because to show up on time. Basically no make classes. So if you sign up be sure you're schedule is free for the specified time period. If you're thinking of taking a quick afternoon class or a full workshop I highly recommend you give Moving Thread a try. The instructor we had last night has her own fashion label and is highly knowledgeable but gave us very easy instructions that us newbies could follow. The was patient with our foibles and created an atmosphere of grace and fun. I look forward to my to rest of classes Eventually I look forward to trying the advanced class offerings too. I've hit my eye on the alterations class.
