It was a major turn off that ultimately had me coming to the studio less and less until a bunch of their teachers who had been there for years quit due to unethical business practice and seeing the behavior that Lauren exhibited. She doesn't understand the difference between confidence and egotistical. Theres a reason so many teachers and students left this studio last year. I would stay far away from this place and give your money to people who deserve it.

It's rare that you get to find somewhere where you feel comfortable doing the uncomfortable work of not only the physical but also the emotional and psychological aspects that come with the art of movement. The atmosphere I've personally experienced has always been so much fun and nothing short of uplifting. From the different instructors, fellow patrons, to Red herself, I've always felt extremely welcomed and rooted for to succeed during my pole journey as a 5' 9'' 230 lb plus size (over 45 year old) woman. Being surrounded by likeminded individuals who run the gamut of levels of expertise in a single room at any given moment is awe inspiring and keeps me coming back to try to reach my own mini goals along the way. There is something extremely special that happens when you're guided by someone like Red. She has a gift in seeing what you don't yet quite see in yourself; it's empowering, addicting and truly transformative. I am forever grateful to her and her high levels of compassion, adaptability, patience, attention to detail, instruction and overall passion for her craft, community and humanity. To allow yourself to be immersed in any discipline is hard and challenging, but it's also just as rewarding. My self esteem has sky rocketed even while choosing to participate at Beginner/All Levels classes (I LOVE my Open Gym time too!!). I've come to realize and understand that it's not a race and the real joy in development in any craft is in the small nuanced details that are gained with taking one's time. Doing so has helped to open so many doors in the ongoing maintenance of my own inner healing. I am so grateful and happy to have taken a chance on Red's Studio. Pole has seen me doing things I never thought I'd do. Things such as taking a long seeded dream I had of performing live on stage into FULL FRUITION!! In counting, I already have 2 showcases under my belt in a short time frame (more on the way) and I definitely have Red and her Team to thank for that. So if you've ever wanted to find a chill, mom and pop, non-pretentious type of place where everybody knows your name... Red's Studio is the place to be. Where ya stick around after class for the Vibes and maybe getting to play/pet Gaston. He's the bestest lil Studio Mascot ever.

I've been coming here for quite awhile now and every time I walk through the doors, I'm reminded why I keep coming back. Red has created so much more than a pole studio she has built a community where everyone is accepted, regardless of their experience or background. She is energetic, supportive, caring, and truly pours her heart into every single student who walks into her studio. As a mom of two, having a place where I can be myself has meant more than I can put into words. Red always makes every student feel seen, heard, and valued. Through this studio, I've made some truly wonderful friendships and found a community that feels like home. It's become my safe place to laugh, grow, challenge myself, and connect with incredible people. One of my favorite things is the variety of classes she offers. Whether you're a complete beginner, looking to build strength with conditioning classes, interested in dancing in heels, or ready to level up your pole skills, there's something for everyone. She also provides beginner-friendly equipment like mats and makes sure everyone feels safe and confident while learning. Even in a group class, I always feel like I'm getting the attention and guidance of a private lesson. Red takes the time to help each student individually, making sure everyone understands and progresses at their own pace. That personal attention is something that's hard to find and makes such a difference. The studio itself is amazing, too. It's clean, welcoming, and stocked with thoughtful extras like beverages, merchandise, grip products, and knee pads if you forget yours or need to pick some up. More than anything, this studio is a place where you can grow not just physically, but personally. Whether you're trying pole for the first time, looking to build confidence, meet amazing people, or simply find yourself, this is the perfect place to start. I can't recommend Red and her studio enough. She truly gives her all, and it shows in every class. I'm incredibly grateful to be part of this community and can't imagine my journey without it.

She was so charming and friendly and really made everyone comfortable. She made the class!!! She was a wonderful teacher who made learning easy and enjoyable. I would love to come back but it is quite expensive. Probably good for a treat! The overall studio is very pretty and aesthetic. The aerial room was a bit tight but did the job! Loved the openness of everything. The entrance and signing into the class was a bit messy and hectic, the entrance was under construction and the man at the front handing out the waivers and such seemed a bit overwhelmed. Didn't feel super welcoming. Streamlining and organizing this section would def help put clients more at ease since I was starting to doubt the class in the beginning.-BE SURE TO BRING A YOGA MAT! Otherwise you'll have to pay $4 to rent one. -The overall class was 10 minutes of warmup, 30 min lesson, and then 10 minutes of free time to record and practice what you just learned. -The AERIAL DANCE INTRO CLASS was a great class for those who have never done aerial or those who haven't done it in years. We learned 3-4 positions. - Paid street parking or limited lot parking ( where ABOUT TIME CAFE is , free during the day) - bathroom available - Locker room on the side - They have two cute dogs in the studio - Recording isn't allowed till the end.

It doesn't really make sense but OK, already vibe ruined but i took the aerial 1 class. The man followed me around asking where i got my yoga mat and even when i was leaving asked if i am taking my yoga mat and where it is etc- very annoying, bizarre and frankly off putting as hell. he was anything but welcoming so i suggest you remove him from whatever he's doing in the front. never want to come back. apparently you have to pay for rental yoga mat. But even before I get to the class, the entry entryway and the vibe of the whole place is off because it's so worn out. i'm scared the fabric will fall off the hook and it's extremely smelly and overall unstable and worn out looking- not sure if i can trust the hanging to support me but that's the attorney in me talking. everything i see seems like a liability, especially their old hooks and the way the instructor walks around with a huge ladder in a crowded class. Next the class itself- instructor spent majority of the time making us stretch and adjusting our fabric. it was such a waste of time. don't do it if you're trying to get a workout in.

My communities in general are full of incredibly talented, humble, and welcoming individuals who have inspiring relationships to our shared practices and passions. The teacher knew the body really well and her sequence was beautiful. One of the best flexibility classes I've taken outside of my martial arts training in terms of effectiveness and creativity! She was also initially quite welcome and kind. And provided great instruction. I'll be back for her. Unfortunately, the community is embarrassing. Or maybe it was just those 2 of the 3 students that day. Mind you - I'm not around people like this in general so it took a second and repeated comments so it took me a second to recognize this behavior - but the students were not welcoming and were actively trying to demoralize me saying backhanded things like "most people dont come back after the first class because it's so hard." To be honest, the teacher was feeding into the mean girls dynamic and was a bit patronizing and not encouraging either. While her instruction was clear, she kept checking in on me implying I was not going hard because the moves were too difficult, but I just trained for 3 hours the day before and this was a recovery session for me. I didnt correct her or tell the class about my background because honestly, they all seemed quite insecure and like they had a lot riding on how deep their backbends could be so I let them have that lol. Who am I to go into someone else's house and yuck their yum. To all those considering trying this place out - come for the mobility class but be prepared to deal with insecure students and an unwelcoming culture.

The classroom instruction was just as good. They were patient, clear, and genuinely engaged. You can tell they enjoy what they do. Andrew Hall, the owner, and operator of The School of Light offered to teach me one-on-one during a weekend workshop to make sure I was fully prepared and confident for the advanced darkroom class. Andrew is incredibly friendly, passionate, patient, engaging, inspiring, a true artist with a wealth of expertise, and an exceptional instructor for your journey into the darkroom.
