Then proceeded to talk nonstop while appearing to be having the most labile mood of accusing me of telling her the incorrect place to bring me numerous times to going on and on about the weather all while laughing inappropriately on and off. I have ridden with West Bank twice so far. The drivers were very polite and enjoyed conversing with me. They did seem to drive very slowly. I finally informed one that he could drive 25mph. He was defensive. I will never ask a driver to speed, but driving slowly is also a no-no. we shall see. read more

There are only two cab companies in the entire city that I will use these days, and West Bank Marrero Cab is one of them (United is the other). Over the years, I've had to use them on numerous incidents, like when: * Auto problems arose * Needed a ride out to the airport and don't feel like driving and leaving my vehicle parked there for weeks while out of town/state/country * In times when friends fly into town to visit and they don't have a vehicle to get around in (while I'm on the road or working, so they can't use mine) and they just want to see the local area and dine out. Drivers are always friendly, cabs are pretty clean for the most part, and they arrive when they're supposed to. For those that might complain about (This goes for ALL Cab Companies, not just WBM): * Not picking you up on time * Having to call them back * They drive right by you and keep going, etc. You really need to ask yourself these questions: * Were you standing where they could actually see you? * Was it so dark that there's a chance that they didn't see you? * Are you asking them to pick you in a known bad area? * Can you speak and pronounce proper and grammatical English? I have a few friends who have driven for various cab companies, including WBM, and they all told me that if a pickup (That's referring to both Person AND Place/Location) doesn't look safe, they will drive off and deal with the complaints. Hell, with the way some areas of this city are since Katrina, I sure as hell can't blame them. read more

Now usually I'm a really satisfied customer. Cab drivers arThey get to you quickly and except cards. However this morning I'm pissed and this review is directed at a specific driver. It's about a hour til I need to be to work and I'm behind schedule to get there biking. So I call westbank can like I usually do when this happens. The cab driver is late and goes to the wrong apartments. When I ask him to open the back for me to put my bike in the van he's wearing slippers instead of being helpful he's grumpy and says it won't fit. When it totally will. So then I have to walk my bike back to MY apartments. His hearing is going and when I tell him where I'm going he insists that I'm going to a different place then where I'm going. He drive slow as molasses & has road range. And the cherry on top is that he's blasting gospel music‼ read more

I was totally impressed with the service I received from this cab company just last week. The dispatcher was friendly and told us she would send someone right out to where we were (Barataria Preserve) We received a very speedy pick up (under 10 minutes), and as tourists to the area, we were very fortunate to have a cab driver that was very pleasant, familiar with the surrounding areas and provided a little history and fun facts about Louisiana, food, New Orleans etc. We couldn't have asked for a better ride. I've used this company more than a few times (most times crossing over to the East bank) and its always a mixed bag. The good news is that if you're on the West bank, you'll get speedy service because, hey, its the West bank....you can get anywhere in 10 minutes. The challenge I've had is the drivers.....some are GREAT and you're glad to call them. The other times, eh.....not so lucky. Whether it is guys driving like my mother, listening to gospel radio shows (gimme a break), or generally NOT KNOWING DESTINATIONS ("how we gettin' dere?") the people aspect of West Bank Cab needs some work. I actually got out of the cab early simply because I couldn't take the stop-n-go, ride-the-brake driving of one driver. read more

I have a complaint. A cabbie just dropped off my sister at the house at 621 Ave F in Westwego. He parked the car just a few feet away from my door. I know the driveway was still wet from the rain, but that was no excuse to park the cab so close to my door. He should have parked on the edge of the property, not back onto my yard so close to my door. What kind of people work for your company? Another time, one driver had a pretty judgmental attitude toward me, calling me lazy after he dropped my sister off and I was getting ready to help bring in the groceries. I used them once for an airport pick up and they were fine. The second time I called for an aiport pick up the dispatch guy actually yelled at me when I asked if he wanted my address. Based on my first experience, it seems like they can get you where you need to go. But based on the second time I called, I won't be using them again. read more

Called at approx 3 p.m. for a pick up at my work. Driver called shortly after to estimate his time of arrival. Driver arrived about 30 minutes later, and found me relatively easily, as we are a business located behind another, and not so easy to locate unless you've been here before.... The driver was very personable, and knew his way around, but the condition of the car left much to be desired. REEKED of smoke, couldn't connect the seat-belt, and no rate monitor for me to see. I did make it to my destination in one piece and in a timely fashion, so I guess I shouldn't expect much more! read more

Except for the first time, when my Yankee accent apparently got in the way and the taxi was sent to the wrong address, they have always come on time and the drivers have been polite and courteous, and sometimes memorable (I especially remember the one who took us to the train station for our trip north, who, when he learned that we were leaving for the season, asked "Why?" Visited New Orleans during Halloween. Stayed in Gretna. The front desk at the hotel suggested we call "Smooth" at this company. He took us to Bourbon St around 6 and said to call him when we were done and he'd pick us up at the CVS on Canal St. Oh, and he told us the charge was $17 and didn't even give back the change so we could have the opportunity to tip him. He just kept it. Anyway, after about 6 hours in the French Quarter, I gave him a call. He said, "I just left there 2 minutes ago." I asked him if there was someone else I should call. He said no, and that he'd pick us up in about 15 minutes, after dropping off the other fare he had in his cab. Because of traffic, we waited patiently for him for about 45 minutes before calling back. He said that he came by and didn't see us...even though we were standing front & center the whole time. He then refused to come get us and sent us his "buddy's" number. We had to wait awhile for him, causing our wait time to be approximately 2 hours in cold, windy conditions. And, while we were in the buddy's vehicle, the dispatcher was spouting off about how various fares were calling due to no-shows. This is not stellar service. As first time visitors to the New Orleans area, we are left with a sour taste. Given what we know of the area, we'd likely not stay in Gretna again anyway, but if we did, we'd never use this cab service again. That's how bad it was. read more

I guess my friend started smoking recently cause this cab that was sent was disgusting with cigarette smoke. I can't believe this happened twice now. This is the worst cab experience I've ever had....I called like I usually do and I made the mistake of not telling them I was paying with a card once and that's all it took. Every time I've called again and had a card to pay with I have informed them beforehand. So this time I told them I had a card and they sent me a cab. I was going to conti and Chartres. This cab driver took me to westwego and huey p long bridge. I live in algiers. ...this cab ride could have easily been an 80 dollar cab ride. So we get to the destination after pretty much going to Metairie and back (I'm 40 minutes late to work at this point) and I go to pay with my card. He says "oh I don't have that." No card machine. So I called the cab dispatcher and she told me it wasn't her problem that he lied to her about the card machine.....while I'm standing literally in front of my work, 40 minutes late, and she hangs up on me. My manager pulled money out of the cash register at work to pay this guy so he would leave. This guy could have costed me my job. Thank god I have a nice work place and staff to back me up because this could have been a much uglier situation. Cab w-15, license plate available if needed...get this guy fired. Phoned yesterday at 7.15pm for a westbank cab. Asked how long it would take and was told about 20mins. 30mins later and no cab so I phone back to be told the cab had come, apparently honked his horn outside and then driven off because there was no-one at the address. Was pointedly told that no longer do cab drivers knock on doors for customers. And I certainly don't expect them too, though what happened to dispatch phoning you to say the cab driver was outside? In this case however, as I had friends staying with me from out of town who were dressed up ready to go out I actually had the front door open to make sure we could see the cab when it pulled up. So basically it never came. When I told the woman dispatch that, she said she could only go by what the driver had said. Thank heavens for Uber, who turned up 4mins after I requested them. read more

Called for a taxi at the Algiers ferry at 7:00. They said that it would be 15 minutes. After 30 minutes, we called again and they repeated the same thing. After an hour wait. A taxi of theirs came. However someone who was just getting off the ferry jumped in. We stopped the driver and asked him. He told us the name of the person who he was supposed to pick up, wasn't us. Maybe 5 minutes later, another taxi pulls up. Finally ours. We asked the driver how another taxi can pull up for someone else when we had been waiting since 7. He said he didn't know and showed us that he was given our name 20 minutes ago. He proceeded to blame the dispatcher and called her while on the way. She argued with him when answering him and said it was his fault. They kept going on over and over until they finally hung up. We finally made it at our destination at 8:22. When we were ready to pay the driver, he got mad and said we should have told him we had a card, since he was cash only. (Despite the credit card info on the window). Frustrated by this whole experience we called back the dispatcher to see what they could do since we had a horrible experience. We thought a discount or comp was something that was acceptable to ask for considering everything that occurred from their part. Wynette, the dispatcher gave us more attitude. Said all she can do was take our card info over the phone. We didn't want to do that since this place didn't seem so professional. I went to go get cash from home while my boyfriend stayed on the phone with her. When I paid I asked to have her name. She refused to give us her last name but said that she doesn't care we can call the manager and her name is W-Y-N-E-T-T-E. Yes, spelling it out. I unfortunately never called the manager the next day because I didn't have time in the day, only after hours. Hopefully an owner or manager does see this though. (This was 1/20/2017 7pm) The dispatcher obviously did an inadequate job and she was extremely rude. People like her will be the reason I will call another establishment. Save yourself the headache and call someone else. Sadly no Ubers were in our area. read more

This so called "company" doesn't even deserve a single star. I've used their cab service multiple times in the 2 years that I've lived here and I've never had anything but problems with them. If they aren't going to the wrong address, they're arriving late and most drivers I've had have shown up under the influence. They text and talk on their phones instead of asking where they're taking me or how my day is going. They are incredibly slow, even when you tell them you're in a rush. They take the longest, slowest routes possible. Just today, the guy who picked me up took 30 minutes to do so, but when I called, they said "well he was in the neighborhood, he should be pulling up" then they hung up the phone. After that, he took 15 minutes to get there. When he finally showed, his car wreaked of weed and he said no more than two words to me the whole ride. It took 25 minutes to get to my workplace which is 10 minutes from my house. Every time I call when a cab driver is late, I receive nothing but attitude and zero concern. I will never use this service again. As someone who is known at work for being punctual and NEVER late, having my managers question that because a cab SERVICE can't be on time is absolutely ridiculous. read more

She stated "I thought you were finished." I told her most people say something like goodbye to indicate they are finished talking.
