I told Mike exactly where I wanted the holes; he made marks and showed me for my OK. One he hit and the other he missed, although not by a lot. Worse still, the holes are at an angle. The hole exits the back of my earlobe lower than where it is in front, so you can see the backings of all studs, and you can tell that the studs are at a 45 degree angle. The place is sanitary, and he is easy to talk to, but won't be going back, have to see someone else about new holes that look right.

Even though we all have very different belly button shapes, he pierced all of us with the exact same size jewelry--mistake #1. Hours later it started hurting. The next day it began swelling to the point that my stomach was closing in on the gem. I went to see him on Tuesday because he wasn't working Sunday or Monday. He told me my issue was that I was cleaning it too much as if that would cause the amount of swelling, bruising, and puss that I was seeing. He squeezed puss out of it and then took it out and replaced it with a longer bar, saying it would be fine. 2 days passed and it was hurting worse and worse. I couldn't sleep because of the pain, despite taking tons of advil and not touching it at all. I decided to see a different piercer because he had been so dismissive of me the first time. The new piercer told me it had been done originally with a size about 3x too small for my anatomy. He said the piercing was so bad and swelling that it would take up to a year to heal if it did at all. We ended up taking it out and my piercer was appalled that the longer bar was a straight bar that Dave had BENT himself to shape it to a navel piercing. This piercer told me NEVER to go back to Dave again. I spoke to him today and he said he does not issue any refunds and "different piercers have different techniques." There is no way that putting a bent bar into someone's navel is a valid technique. Pictures are below. Dave can say what he wants, but a safely done piercing should never react like that for so long. Do not go here under any circumstances.

I went into my appointment bubbly and excited for my friend and I to get meaningful tattoos for someone we have lost, and to get a bff matching "freckle tattoo," too. Due to my depression, I have not gotten out too much in the past couple years, so this was a big day for me on my healing journey. I drove over an hour away from NJ. From the moment we first interacted with Rob at the appointment, his tone was demeaning, condescending, disrespectful, annoyed, disgusted, disgruntled, and flat out mean. My friend got her tattoo done first, and when I stood up to take a 2 second video to document our special day/tattoos, he snapped at me that I needed to sit down bc I was a peripheral distraction. He was annoyed I asked him if a bathroom was closeby, and told me I had to wait instead of him just telling me where it was. When it was my turn to be tattooed, I asked if he could put a little paw print over the "i" in my dogs name. He said no. I asked if he could put a heart there? He scoffed and begrudgingly said "ugh, yeah. I guess?" When he did the placement I was unsure if I wanted the front or the back of my arm, so I asked him to do the stencil on the back of my arm too, in which he was annoyed. I was unsure of how the tattoo fit my arm and the placement, and as I stood there and debated with my friend, he offered no insight, just sat there silent and looking disgusted. Meanwhile I am standing there holding my dogs toy, who passed away, just trying to get it right. I have anxiety and the more I could not decide, and the more he made me feel uncomfortable, I was like nervously touching my arm in areas, in which he yelled at me "I TOLD YOU. DONT TOUCH YOUR ARM. THATS NOT SANITARY." Then when I nervously put my phone on the arm of the chair, again got berated for not being sanitary. The more discomfort I felt, I got upset and undecided on the tattoo, to which I offered a solution to us just standing ther awkwardly getting no direction or input from him, and I said "can you just do the freckle tattoo for me while i decide on the placement for my dog tattoo?" to which he appallingly replied, "well I am not your servant." Up until that point, l'd let go being berated for literally every word I said and move I made in the presence of this man, but that was enough for me. I told him the way he had treated me was unacceptable, and that I no longer felt comfortable getting the tattoo for my dog. Since my friend had already gotten her freckle tattoo, I felt I had to at least do that, because it was supposed to be meaningful for us, and I didn't want us leaving with only her having got it done. Defeats the whole purpose. So he did the freckle tattoo for me, then said he would just keep my security deposit($50). So I paid $50 for a freckle tattoo, smaller than a pencil eraser and to be treated in an abusive manner. I waited a few days to post this, to see if he would reach out to try to take accountability, but nothing. I am far from a sensitive person, and I know how to defend myself against bullies, so I post this for the people who might be more sensitive than I, who are unable to stand up for themselves. I would not want anyone else to ever have to go through the experience that I did, as it was emotionally damaging even for me.
