On a learning spree because my life has no meaning.

Came to the library without knowing where we were headed. I was very interested in getting some books that contained knowledge. I found some. If you are looking for knowledge this isn't a terrible place to come to. BEWARE THE BATHROOMS THOUGH there are literally people in there doing some questionable stuff. There were plant items in the toilet. Also it's impossible to get into a big stall because they are permanently occupied by homeless people. Like that's their camp. I was there for two hours and went in the bathroom when I first arrived and there was a guy and when I left he was still there! Who is taking that long??!

This is strictly for the library auditorium and staff that worked the auditorium for the hula Christmas show. I love how the seats were at a slant so the back row can see what is on stage without problem and how each seat have flip over desk tables. The staff were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Thank you so much for allowing our hula halau perform there.

Whenever you go to the West Charleston Library to use the meeting rooms, PLEASE TAKE ALONG SANI WIPES TO CLEAN DOWN. They do not clean the meeting rooms after people use them. The meet rooms are usually dirty and also the chairs. I ALWAYS have to wipe the tables and chairs. Recently I could not believe the dirty condition of the meeting room, and the chairs was especially black with dirt. They need to understand that people use these room in-and-out around the clock. They need to keep them clean because people book them for business meetings.

Clean quiet Library. This is cool entertainment found in the computer room. Kids Area is one way in and One way out that I like that has their own restrooms and computers.

Not bad and not huge inside, but it's definitely a good location to check out next to a college campus. I came for the art gallery displays. Public restrooms right across the art gallery. The library itself isn't all fancy here, but they do have great book selections and items to check out. Views of outside from windows aren't attractive because you can see the busy retail area with lots of cars passing through. It feels overcrowded at times and noise levels do pick up here in the book aisles and computers sections. Lots of students or work groups. Rooms are filled with people. Public parking lot was ok. The building looks better on the outside compared to the book areas inside. Art gallery stands out. Discounted bookstore is small. It's still a great place to sit and relax. I will have to revisit to get a better feel of the place. I would recommend walking over to the beautiful college campus if you want to take some photos or get a stretch. West Charleston Library needs better window views. It looks like old Vegas outside, but the library itself is ok. Yes, Wifi can be slower here, but overall, there's plenty of room for improvement.

I had never been to this branch of the Las Vegas-Clark County System. I came here as a volunteer for a program sponsored by the Friends of Nevada State Museum Las Vegas on the Folies Bergere. There is an exhibit ongoing for a few months in a separate room with two costumes. In addition, the evening was for a talk by the author of a book about the Folies. The auditorium is a wonderful room. The comfortable chairs have lift up writing platforms for taking notes. The sound system is excellent. I was a bit early and I renewed my LVCCLD card which is now good for two years rather than needing to be renewed every year. The area where the Folies exhibition is being held is a glass enclosed large room. It's a wonderful spot for an exhibition as it draws people from btoh entrances. The main part of the library is bright and has modern architecture. It is very pleasing to the eye.

I am grateful for the Las Vegas Clark County Library District. The West Charleston branch offers story times, a wealth of children's books and magazine's, helpful librarians who are eager to share their knowledge and resources, and an engaging dramatic play area. Cool climate for hot days. Comfortable all days of the year. Free WiFi. Clean restrooms. Safe and fun place to socialize and learn.

There's no place like the library, and this one in particular is awesome! All one level with a private children's area makes it easy to come here to study or just enjoy a good book! I call this my home library because I can always find a corner to relax in.

They have advertisements on the top of shelves for new items you can reserve before they even stock them!

How can anyone complain about a place like this. I've been here for a few hours now and I'm able to completely done out and get work done. There's plenty of table space and places top work. People are quiet. The staff is very helpful. This will be my go to library from now on. :) Take advantage of quiet study areas, the computer labs, free homework help, and the great lighting. Forget coffee shops and just bring your own here. Also, there are tons of workshops you can attend every month.

Just be sure to book your appointment online! The appointment slots open I think exactly one week in advevery Monday (I'm not 100% sure on that though, and the time slot optionsare very limited and fill up quickly. If you can snag an appointment, it's one of the easiest and smoothest places to get passports done, especially with kids. Most recently, we used one of the multipurpose rooms here for a homeschool class event, hosted by an employee from the Las Vegas Natural History Museum for an ocean life class. I really love that the museum does that and we've always had great experiences with classes like this brought to us. Overall, this is a fantastic library for so many reasons, not just for checking out books, but also for community events, meeting spaces, and passport services. We've had nothing but great experiences here!

Whenever I've had a question at the front desk or needed help checking something out, I've never had to wait long. One of the best things about this location is the self-checkout system. It's super easy to use ... you don't even have to scan each book, DVD, or video game individually. Just place everything on the scanner and it checks everything out at once. They also have a great selection of PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch games, which is something a lot of people probably don't realize libraries offer. The DVD selection is solid too. It gives me a little nostalgia of walking through Blockbuster back in the day. Instead of paying for streaming services all the time, I'd definitely recommend supporting your local library. I usually reserve my books, movies, or games online, and they notify me when they're ready. I just stop by, pick them up, and check out. The whole process is really smooth. One time they even called me quickly to let me know I accidentally returned my own video game with the library items, which I really appreciated. Renewing items online is also super easy. As long as nobody else has requested the item, they usually let you renew it without any issues. I personally don't stay long enough to study or hang around, so I can't really speak on the noise level like some reviews mention and rude employee interactions. For what I use it for ... quick pickups and returns, it has been perfect. The parking lot is spacious, and they even have 3D printers available for public use, which is pretty cool. You can also renew passports here, so the library really offers a lot more services than people realize. I've been to multiple libraries in the valley, including the Sahara location, and this library has consistently been one of the easiest and nicest ones I've been to.

My company sponsors it, so I brought thank you gifts for donors. The Red Cross staff is kind and gracious. I didn't take any photos inside the blood drive for privacy reasons, but it was full of exceptional members of our community set on saving lives. Whenever I visit Centennial Hills Library I always check out the book store, and it never disappoints. I usually get children's books to donate to the Obodo library. This time the books were for me though. I have that Kamala Harris book "The Truths We Hold" in my Amazon cart right now. That's so fun. It would have cost me a lot more than the $1 I paid here. Plus, proceeds go back to the library, so win! As I walked around snapping pictures, the staff wanted me to tell you some things. The gentleman monitoring the resource room invites everyone to come in. He's ready with computers, homework help, and more. The ladies at the desk by the hydroponics said this is actually an adult ed class and you will create hydroponics to take home. They said to come out and take part. The cashier at the entrance to the media section offered that there are so many great titles to choose from in the book store. I couldn't agree more. She added that it's a good idea to stop by first when you're think of shopping for books. In all it was a lovely visit and a beautiful day at the blood drive.

The building appears large from the outside, but surprisingly only one floor. The bathrooms are located immediately to the right upon entry. They have a few vending machines in a little cafe type area. Water fountains are available, but no water bottle filler that I could find. The library is split down the middle, with kids section on the left and adults on the right. In the back left, they have a quiet area that is partitioned off with glass walls. In the back middle, they have a couple meeting rooms. There are two 4 person rooms that can be reserved at the information desk based on availability, or by calling the library within 48 hours of needed reservation time. Unfortunately, there is currently not a way to reserve them online ahead of time -- only by phone. There is an adult computer lab in the back left. On the outskirts of the adult section are several big reading chairs. There are only a handful of tables, which I think is something they could improve. Surprisingly, the noise level was at a minimum despite the kids section being open to the entire library.

My 4- and 8-year-old still talk about him, and going to the library just isn't the same without seeing him there. My daughter practically grew up attending his Storytime. When she first started going, she was extremely shy and would cry if anyone approached her. Mr. Patrick noticed that right away and met her exactly where she was. Instead of overwhelming her, he would gently wave from a distance, give her space, and slowly build trust. Because of him, she became more comfortable and confident in that environment--and that means everything to me as a parent. With my son, he was just as incredible. He took the time to recommend books he knew he'd enjoy and would even walk with us to show him the "cool" chapter books. He didn't just do his job--he genuinely cared. He once said, "Kids can tell if adults are nice or not--they are wise," and he truly lived by that. It's such a shame to see someone like Mr. Patrick leave. People like him make a lasting impact on children and families, and those connections matter more than words can express. That said, we are very grateful for Ms. Jessica and Ms. Melissa. They continue to show kindness and dedication to the kids, and it's clear they are loved by the families who come back week after week. Librarians play such an important role--many of our children grow up with them, and they help shape their love for reading and learning. I truly hope our tax dollars are going toward supporting and properly compensating these amazing individuals who are making a real difference in our community.
